Building A 13' Surf Rod Part 1

This is the first video of a series of videos that will chronicle my choices and methods for building a 13' surf rod.
I will be blending rod features of Mark Burford's "Over the Bar" 13' surf rod and Tommy Farmer's CPS Gen II 12' rods.
This video shares the early stages of laying out rod glide placement, rod butt length, and many of the early details for laying-out a new rod.

Is that Tommy Farmer as in world champion longcaster Tommy Farmer? Not real tall, very stocky and had/has red hair? If so, that guy knows how a rod needs to be set up. If I’m not mistaken, he went over 900ft in the 150 gram class.
