How about you do a video first of you in a thong describing how people like yourself without any subscribers how to write lame @ss misogynistic comments on other peoples YT channels?
Might be worth checking out Rubios aging liquid. Works best with woods with higher tannins like oak. Works very cool for an aged look and can white wash over it.
@@madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074 the product is actually called “fumed”ruclips.net/video/zH9mt2Cx2zw/видео.html. That’s a RUclips video from Rubio to show the steps. Its a little pricey. I’m not 💯 sure If you stain over it. It is water based as are all of the sealers /colorants they have.
@@madelinejeanantiquesrestor9074 and yes it takes the redness from the wood May make for a good video ,especially if you can use store bought water based stain in conjunction.
Glad you like how this project turned out. I do have some space heaters but my basement is pretty large (it’s around 1200 sq ft) and there’s no way to enclose a smaller area (no doors or rooms) so basically it’s kind of a waste of electricity because the heat doesn’t get contained. I do I have electric baseboard heat in my basement but I don’t run it because of the cost. Right now it stays around 55-60 degrees without any heat but lately it’s dipped lower. It’s so cold here lately. it’s on my to do list to insulate my basement ceiling and finish it better.
Here in MA we have MassSave, Sponsored by the utility companies. I’m sure they have something likewise in New Hampshire. They might be able to come in and for a little to next to no money provide extra insulation and maybe even insulated windows for your basement. On another note, are you supposed to be applying that product in that extreme of a temperature?
@@donnamoore2153 I have electric heat in my basement. I just don’t turn it on often because of the cost. I also keep a digital thermometer in the basement. I’m aware of the temp and humidity at all times. I apply all my topcoats in my large enclosed laundry room. It has doors.
That minwax pickling is literally vintage now!! I've been using it forever but haven't been able to find it in years 😭 where did you get it? Or is that an old can?
I want to do a desk the same way except I want to put a really good top coat on the top since it's going to get a lot of use. The only difference I'm using a white water based stain. Prepping of this desk is sanding to get all the old stain and varnish off, then bleaching with regular household bleach, then using the vinegar and water, then stain then topcoat. I was thinking of using the water based Polyurethane (by minwax) Semi gloss on just the top. Will the polyurethane turn yellow or bring out the tannins of the maple and cherry woods? If so, what topcoat would you recommend? Thanks!
You most likely will need to literally bleach the red wood tannins out of the wood. Use household bleach in a bottle, spray the wood, let dry. Repeat 3 times. That should do the trick.

Thank you! So true! You have to allow yourself to make mistakes that's where the learning comes in.
Love it, the drawer stencils really added a lot
Thank you! I like how you noticed that detail. The stenciled drawers really do add a lot to the dresser’s personality.

I just looked up the Rubios aging liquid. So do you apply it before you stain? Or do you use it as a stain? Does it take the redness out of a wood?

The name of products you are using again please. I love what you are doing.
The products I used are listed under the description of the video.
Hi, is this considerd a "pickle" finish? Are there different ways to do it? Could you attach a few links of similar videos that you have? TY -E
Beautiful! Did you use a wood conditioner before staining? I really want to try this method 😊
Before the white pickling stain I did not use wood conditioner beforehand.
What did you do after putting on bleach did you have to wash it off
I let the bleach dry then I neutralized the surface with water and vinegar. I used a rag.
So beautiful! But I hate to see you freezing! You could get a small space heater...they really work!

I even contacted minwax and was told they changed the labeling but the product i tried with the "new label" was not the same 😥
That's so weird! I was able to find it in my neck of the woods. I'm in New Hampshire. I hope they don't change the formula.

I used Minwax clear ultra flat polycrylic crystal clear topcoat 3 coats, is not supposed to yellow, it's water based.

@@dchkerries1 good luck, it was actually pretty easy..I also did the vinegar and water rinse. Just an extra proventativeive measure for yellowing.
I love General Finished High Performance water based topcoat. It comes in different sheens. I've had wonderful results with it.
How about oak that was stained cherry? After sanding the wood still has red tint …
