Honestly after seeing the character just shoot the human boss with no effort, I choose to believe the game is self aware enough to point out how boss fights in games tend to be really stupid with human boss characters who survive dozens of bullets.
Kinda like how in Crysis 2 the moment you're within punching distance of that shitbag CELL mercenary commander you yeet him through solid plate glass and he's just done.

Gameloft was the pioneer of mobile gaming I'd say. The N.O.V.A franchise, Modern Combat and Order & Chaos were my childhood. Used to play them in bed and in school, good 'ol times.
Not even just Gameloft's Smart Phone games. Their Java stuff was decent too. Gangstar 2, Soul of Darkness, and Castle of Magic were all decent to solid titles on both phones and DSi. Only games I'd argue were truly better were the Zenonia series by Gamevil (greatest action rpgs for mobile,) Chronicles of Inotia by Com2us, Mobile Battles: Reign of Swords by Punch Entertainment (the game that got me interested in Fire Emblem,) and Nowhere by Devalley. Sad that such a generation likely won't be remembered.
Thanks for featuring my Longplay in the video, it was a nice surprise! 😄 Great video, would love to see some coverage on other Gameloft games as well, Modern Combat etc ☺️

For me, this is easily my favorite NOVA game out of the 3. It feels faster pace, smooth to play, and the weapons feel fun to shoot compared to the first game. The menu theme is also banger as well. It also has my favorite multiplayer as well as I used to be really good at it.
They did a remake of the first one called NOVA Legacy, but it suffers from all of the same problems that all other current day mobile games have, namely, being blatantly pay to win

I remember in middle school/high school iPod touches were the coolest thing to have. Especially cause at the time everyone still had those slide out keyboard phones, flip phones ect. And getting apps like “text now” or “text free” would basically enable any iPod touch into a basic iPhone. And yes the nova games, and don’t forget, the og cod zombies app. Me and my cousins would play zombies coop over Bluetooth so much. Mostly cause my cousins weren’t allowed to have consoles. So all the Bluetooth coop games were amazing for us. (Cod zombies, light bike, I know there was more but I can’t think of them)
I remember gameloft was the only mobile company that actually put effort into making clone games off of well known games but I remember playing gangster Vegas and nova 3
Fun fact: they never bothered to delist NOVA 3 from the Windows Store and can still be bought on Windows Phones because they haven't updated it in years.
I can confirm that the explosives trick for the final boss, which admittedly I looked up a walkthrough of it, works on the original/phone version of the game.
I love how you give mod authors credit in your videos. They do such hard work and most people just forget them when they provide some of the best and most useful gameplay experiences
Watching the videos for the Nova games , reminded me that I play the first two on my Phone back in 2010 when I went to New Zealand on a 14 hour flight. I thought that they were somekind of Halo game for the phone and that how I remembered them
I think it would also be worth checking out the mobile deadspace title (if you can find a virus free copy). It's kind of like this one in that it's no longer available, even though it was pretty good for a mobile take on the franchise.
7:00 that level there is the reason I never beat this game as a kid. I didn’t really like that tower defense section. Also, can someone tell me which emulator Jarek is using and can someone link me the APK file he used or at least tell me where I can find it?
You should try the gameloft cod clones as well: Modern combat 4 and 5 have surprisingly very good campaigns (those are the ones I've seen gameplay of, no clue about the previous entries in the series.
I mean for a mobile game it was great lol and I still enjoy N.O.V.A it was fun and the story felt like Crysis in the sense that you know some of the premise but wasn't necessary because the story was usually scrapped in each installment to become something else
you should really try Section 8 prejudice (Developed by Timegate), it had the potential to be a good halo clone but sadly it flopped and everyone has forgotten about it.
In my opinion the 7th Generation is the best console gen of all time. Even the mobile games on both smart phones and Java, had work put into them to be legitimately good. The golden age of gaming.
The premise always seemed like something more but there really is no story. The aliens are mind controllers and the government guy was selling humanity into enslavement. The enemies you're fighting are humans under controll of phsycers(aliens). But this game is like Halo 2 if there was no arbiter side of the story. You would just kill the prophets and say "stay out of my Halo!" and the game ends.
I've been a huge fan of jarek for years and have always wondered what kind of recording software is used here, very interested in trying this out myself, any recommendations would be great.
Gameloft has to pay the fee to Apple and Google store for hosting the games. Also games need constant technical support and update so their code doesn't bug out, especially for multiplayer games. Gameloft thinks it's cheaper to pull the plug since not a lot of nee players are buying the game

I earlier days, on Smartphone Display, the graphics are good. But Yeh, that was the time Gameloft created some of there best games. For MobileStandarts. Nova3, ModernCombat1-4 (not part5) especially ModernCombat4 was awesome. And so much others, there was also a game called „Knights“…something. That’s was sooo good. All that was fullPrice titles without micros. And remember DungeonHunter2, that was a good small DiabloClon. Nothing compare to DH5.

I would disagree. GOA dwells more into gritty fantasy with the aliens, Shadow gun (at least the single player version) is more gritty science fiction with robots and genetically modified soldiers (aliens didn't show up until Deadzone though); plots, character, etc. is also different. The only similarity is that the game is 3rd person and the character both uses heavy armor
Thats so sad. I have an apk file because i used to try to hack it, but it was much different from hacking NOVA1 which could literally give you god mode in MP(everyone was doing it in 1). I modified mine to make myself the warthog turret in mp. Was fking hilarious as i would show up as a floating inanimate broken turret mesh on other peoples screens. These games (1-2) were tons of fun. Local MP was fun with friends when more people were getting ipod/iphones at the time. But also the controls and gameplay was simple… ADS in 3 was disgusting, even modern combat felt better (MC2 is also a great game)
Maybe some day I'll get to do music for one of those boomer shooters and Jarek will review it and be like "the soundtrack in this game is... it's actually really bad" XD
It is a bit sad that current young people early gaming memories are becoming even worse than this already was when compared to those growing up in 80s, 90s or early 2000s.
