Hi Andy bruva good result in the damaged fish but I would be very careful plucking scales that way as it can damage the surrounding thin layer of skin and the scale pocket itself resulting in a scar and in cases of scale pocket damage will result the scale not being able to grow back 🧁👍👍👍

With the lawn you can you use a select weed killer it is ok for bear to walk on when dry but you would need to keep him off until it dies if he is eating it. Or you can pull/ dig it out but clover have deep roots and if you just pull the top off it will grow back. You can your salt with white vinegar mix with water but this will kill the grass as well on the area you spray. All of this will need over seeding and cover the seed with tops soil to stop it drying out. Hope this helps.

Outstanding video again, great delivery and video presentation, love watching your channel.
I'm Intrigued...... i know why you've never used ** Tetra Medifin ** or any of their products.... ????????
I've been keeping fish for over 40yrs.... along the way I've used it all.... medicine wise !!!!
I've personally found the Tetra Medifin very useful, its 99% of the time sorted any issues I've had.
I also use a microscope and take scraps from my mix of Koi, common & Mirror Carp, and gold fish.

Been gardening for a long time and the best way to remove clover is to feed the lawn with a granular feed of either fish blood and bone meal or bone meal. Both can be bought from any garden store. Just broadcast it onto the lawn as you would with seed and leave. If there is no rain for 2 days get the hosepipe out and give the lawn a good watering otherwise the feed could burn the grass. How is Sid doing

Hi, another simply exceptional video delivery from you.
Your a proper inspiration to people putting their elbows in the pond / fish keeping hobby.
    I have a question....
    When testing for KH,
Do you......Once the 1st drop goes into the test tube and hopefully the water turns blue.
When do you start counting the drops to determine the result once turned yellow.
    Do you include the 1st drop then count .... 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ......
Or do you count 1x after the 1st drop that turns the water blue.
** My KH runs at ( 5x ) including the 1st drop to turn it blue **
The fish have been in the pond some 12yrs.... all happy no sickness etc, pH is at 7.5.....
Looking forward to your next video... brilliant channel 👏

    • @KoiPondLifestyle
      @KoiPondLifestyle  2 года назад

Hiya, thanks for the feedback and glad you're enjoying the videos. I measure the result of my KH to aim for a result between 4 and 6 so I personally have been counting from the first drop and its usually lands of 4 or 5. So if I started from the send drop would be 5 or 6 so same result either way as long as its stable and not fluctuating . 👍😉

If you're not keen on using chemicals or other such powders. You can always use an electric scarifier, it may take a week or two to get it all out but it does work and it's what i do.

Koi fish food to the best of my knowledge there is only one food producer in the UK most food comes from France or a mass producer in China.
So, most food your purchase under any name will be more or less the same looking what’s in it and the colour you can find a £10 bag of food which is the same as a £46 bag.
    Koi also love Melon-Grapes-Kiwi-Strawberries-Mandarins-Oranges.
When they have problems with gas or Air trapped inside a hardboiled Egg works.
They will also eat Whole Meal Bread-Oatmeal Flakes-Cooked Rice-Cheerio’s-and most things green and Garlic. ruclips.net/video/aUGwT4iOOLg/видео.html

Strangely as it may sound your lawn is like your pond it has a PH put some soil in water let it settle then test the Ph of the water. Stick a fork in the lawn making holes all over the grass then take the water out of your filter and spreading it over the grass twice a week for 3 weeks spray the water over it this will soak in and should kill the clover from the roots up. My soil has a PH of 7.

    Hose Pipe BAN.
A hosepipe ban limits outdoor water usage including washing cars, watering plants, and filling up pools or ponds. This means everything from sprinklers to irrigation systems are also banned in addition to hosepipes.
You cannot use a hosepipe to fill or maintain a pool or fill a paddling pool.
You are allowed to use a hosepipe to fill or maintain a koi pond where fish or other aquatic animals are being kept in captivity.
Now this one I don’t understand.
People who are using a hose for health and safety reasons, Blue Badge holders are permitted to continue using a hosepipe where the badge is issued by their local authority can use a hosepipe to water a garden attached to domestic premises in order to water plants and their own allotment if applicable.
Myself I will use my pond water to water my fruit and veg in the garden and then fill the pond up.
I won’t be using a hose or tap water to water these but a watering can and water from the pond then just fill the pond back up this is not breaking any regulations that I can see.

What does it mean for pond owners if we have a hosepipe ban?

    • @KoiPondLifestyle
      @KoiPondLifestyle  2 года назад

Good point John. Some onfo I pulled from a website on rules when a hose pope ban is in place. You can’t fill a pool or paddling pool with a hosepipe either, but you are allowed to fill a hot tub - and a pond with fish in it if their welfare depends on a top up.

I lost one on Monday, no fish flashing jumping all rest acting normal. He was fine Monday morning and then came back to work to him on his side dead. Scraped him and found loads and loads of costia. his gills had parts missing so presume it will of been oxygen levels with it been so hot.He was my oldest fish at 16-17 years old. Anyhow fmg went in straight away as didn't want to pp with it been forecast 40 next day. So ill do more scrapes tomorrow and see if they have done one. As for your grass i use weed and feed but don't know if that is dog friendly. I dont think it will be.
