One of my favorite Joe Pavelski moments was from the 14-15 season. The team was playing sloppy and outside of the playoffs going down the home stretch. They go into the locker room for an intermission and thank god the NHL had cameras filming because he rightfully called out everyone on the team for playing sloppy and not being engaged in the game, along with quite a few expletives. They go out to start the third period and guess who scores the first goal to swing the momentum, Motherfucking Joe Pavelski. They went on to win the game but ultimately didn’t make the playoffs, but that moment is one of many that makes me believe that Pavs is one of the greatest to play the game. Tbh, I never thought Couture as a good captain. Obviously we don't see what happens in the locker room but the way he presents in media and the like just doesn't strike me as the guy to really rally the troops or hold players/coaches/management accountable. Love him as a player, an all timer in sharks history for sure. Had Hertl stuck around that'd be the easy pick, but next up I'd definitely say Ferraro. Vlasic shouldn't even be a consideration, he needs to retire. I'm just hoping Logan isn't forced to retire due to this injury.
Luke Kunin. Based purely on how the younger players talk about him, look up to him, GMMG always says he's looking for players with his style. his age (late 20's) makes him young enough to relate to the kids but old enough to be a veteran and have "seen some sh*t" in the league.
Unfortunately Brodie I feel the search might come quicker than we’d want. Coutures condition is kinda serious. It wouldn’t shock me if he break the news that he’s done 😞

I feel like if Kunin was in the long term plans he wouldn’t have a 1yr contract. Ferraro wearing the C for the next couple seasons makes sense until someone like Celebrini, Eklund, or Smith are ready to step up.
I say Nico Sturm if he is still around once Logan is no longer captain. Love the way Sturm conducts himself in interviews with honesty and seems to set good example on ice too.
I guess while we're on the subject, as much as I love Pav and loved him as captain, in my opinion, Owen Nolan, for me, is the greatest captain in Sharks history so far. After having dismal seasons 4 out of their 1st 6 years in the league, he was the one who lead the Sharks emergence as a perennial playoff team during the Sutter years. I will never forget the way Buster put his whole body on the line to win that playoff series against St. Louis in 2000 and the slap shot that Roman Turek couldn't handle. I would want the next Sharks captain to have those kinds of qualities
Thorton is the sharks best player in team history. Nolan was the best captain. He out his stamp on the team. They played like he played. Him running Ed Belfore in the playoffs is still ome of my favorite sharks clips of all time
You’ve done a lot of videos on franchise relocations or threats to move due to stadium or arena issues. I’d be interested in hearing if the Sharks have an arena issue on the horizon given their facility is now 30+ years old. Is there talk of a new arena, and where would it go? Or a major overhaul? What is their current lease situation? Are they long-term secure in the Bay Area?
Hopefully they buyout vlasic, and slap the A's on granlund, ferraro and sturm(if couture is out) hopefully couture gets healthy and can be eventually moved too, and get a shot at a cup before he retires
I think Eklund as captain is a bad take. Not saying he isnt captain material and wont be captain in the future but right now is not appropriate. He's only play 1 full season
I always thought it should have been Hertl, but for obvious reasons, not going to happen now. If anyone deserves it, it would be Ferraro. Give it to a younger player, but one that has the passion.
If the choice were up to me I’d give the C to Ferraro until one of the young guys fully matured into captain material. Ferraro has that gritty old man attitude that I love even though dudes only 25, and now is one of the longer tenured shark on the team. Not sure if it means much but the team was at its best with Captain America at its helm so hopefully one of the younger guys has a similar character.
It’s been a while since we’ve had one but for me the C has to be a defenseman. There are exceptions but typically with a young team I’d go defenseman. And the only one I see is Ferraro if he’s still here. Maybe Sturm if he’s still here. But yet again who knows players in years can spark an interest from us. But right now if Cout never plays again it’s Ferraro
NOT Ferraro! This is one of the guys that needs to go trade or released. He is at best a 3rd line D-pair guy. The Sharks just need to move on from him.

Give it to Mack now. It worked well for the Wings in the 80s when they gave it to Yzerman as a teen.

Compared to the teams/platforms that previous captains had... logan's time wearing the C hasn't been easy, at all.

No C, have the A rotate among more tenured members of the team maybe trial it on up & coming talent down the road until a front runner emerges.

Sturm is freaking great gay, but we also need top-2 lines as well to be a Captain…

Ferraro's a great guy, but he is a very average player and needs to be traded. He is not a difference maker and should NOT be part of the future.
Couture is a great player and playoff performer, just not a Captain.
He’s not on the team yet. Whenever the time come, I think it’s going to need be some young FA signing we eventually pick up.
