It’s just an hd rerelease of the first game with three “new” mirrored tracks that are basically mirrored versions of the original ones. It’s rather infamous in the community for the fact that Sega hyped it as a brand new game in the series rather than an enhanced port and for the fact that they originally released the game on a website page without any security measure, thus allowing everyone to download it for free
Honestly It doesn’t really matter. The game is boring and lacks soul compared to the absolute masterpiece that is daytona usa 2. But how can you blame them, nobody has gotten even close to the arcade excitement and goodness of DUSA 2 after all these years.
@@vidjenko8349 Maybe unless it was literally a NASCAR Licensed game like the NASCAR Thunder games, but even in that case, the EA Sports NASCAR games and such were specifically designed for home consoles whereas the Daytona USA games were best enjoyed as arcade games. IMO, there was also a lot higher expectations for say the EA Sports NASCAR games as they were sort of obligated to get more factual information correct such as real life drivers and more tracks to deal with whereas the Daytona USA games could be as imaginary as they wanted to be. Needless to say, I think Sega really let their creativity shine through with Daytona USA 2; especially on the Advanced course.
The game doesn’t technically look worse, but it looks too clean imo. The cars look way more realistic, which is a bit of a detriment compared to the almost cartoonish shape they used to have, and creates a slight disconnect between the arcade gameplay and the more realistic graphics. I would say the sense of speed is worse, though
I worked in an arcade with two Daytonas networked together in 1994. "DAY-TONA....LET'S GO TO RACE, LET'S GO TO RACE...DAY-TONAAA....DAY-TONAAA" I'll remember this dumb song long after I forget the sound of my grandmother's voice.
@@jeremystrauss9208 Oh god...I just looked it up and it is "away"! Keep in mind this was mixed with six skeeball machines buzzing/ringing and probably sixty other cabinets on full constant blast.
Daytona USA is a pretty good franchise to me. I never really got into racing games as much, but there are some exception for me like Ridge Racer, WipEout, Daytona, these are a really good franchise of racing games. It's kind of sad SEGA didn't really try make something new for Daytona. All they did is porting and remaking the game over and over. Well they did make a mindblowing sequel for Daytona USA 2, but that was only done like once and they went into the porting & remaking the series over and over.
*Antes do daytona 2 jà tinham feito remake do primeiro que foi aquele circuit edition a mancada que a sega deu foi não lançar o 2 para o dreamcast isso acabou fazendo o game cair no esquecimento😢.*
he was around all the way up to the 2001 edition. I'm sure he wouldn't give a shit though. he cared more about the real race than games. Earnhardt Jr is a gamer though.

I actually like the 2017 version because of the better graphics and gameplay and the 2017 version was the first one I played and I don’t know why people hate on it so much

O daytona do dreamcast foi o que eu mais gostei os extras compensam ter o game.
Daytona Usa 3 Championship

I never knew the existence of Daytona 2017 until now

How a game from 2017 somehow looks worse than a game form 1993 is beyond me.
It's because of the way cars became more aerodynamic, they stopped looking cool and went for a more streamlined box shape
You are definitely trying to cope that a remake looks better than your old game (I'm not hating on daytona usa)
The game looks more realistic, but the essence of the Daytona usa disappear immediately.
This is what we called "more realistic doesn't mean better"
Also the music is a little cool but not as cool as the original Daytona USA

1993 version had a lot of heart

You forgot the Daytona USA (2012) for PS3/X360 and Sega Racing Classic (2009) for Arcade.
Too bad dale Earnhardt wasn’t around for this may he R.I.P.
he was around all the way up to the 2001 edition. I'm sure he wouldn't give a shit though. he cared more about the real race than games. Earnhardt Jr is a gamer though.
dale saw the release of 1 and 2
Never played that... But the most funny about it is that everyone forgets that "Cart Fury" was also inspirated in this game...
Remarkably consistent to get 2 laps back to back with 18 seconds flat in the 2001 footage.
The most underrated game
Greatest arcade game in history. More iconic than OutRun. More frenetic than SEGA Rally. More competitive than SCUD.
Not sure about that, but really enjoyed the game
Both of them are pretty known
O bom do outrun é que ele saiu para vàrias plataformas👍
Original still looks great
I hope Daytona can make its way to the iiRcade.
daytona 3 is still my 3 favorite but i gotta say i love daytona 2
Racing games, even nascar games, have gotten anything but better as the years went on. I think the ones between 1998 and 2006 were better.
1998 version looks way better than 2017's
Daytona USA 3 was not made by the original studio, even the gameplay is different.
There is a good reason is a did they upscale version of the Dreamcast version
Daytona 2017 looks like cruis'n blast im gonna port from sega to consoles or maybe what with cruis'n blast on switch

Daytona USA 1 & 2 always best for me👍
Eu gostei mais daquele remake do dreamcast os extras compensam👍
Nice
They never improved beyond the original. Even with the HD graphics, they never got the handling right for 3 decades.
You're right, the last game wanted to simplify the handling to be able to drift easier but that ruins the fun.
Handling is only better when u use manual
Thats why I'm glad the xbox 360 version is simply a port of the game and not a weird remake
As a person who has played all 3 arcade releases many times. I can confirm that daytona 3 handles like shit compared to the first 2
Te falto el Daitona de wiiu
No existe ningún Daytona en Wii u
Comparte en el canal eso que fumas 😅
Parece brincadeira que levou quase 20 anos pra que o primeiro daytona tivesse um port decente igual ao arcade😆
I never like nascar games cars put on track in city to race keep cars on boring race track turn left all time never right
Is it just me or Daytona 2017 looks like a cheap rip-off?
I actually like the 2017 version because of the better graphics and gameplay and the 2017 version was the first one I played and I don’t know why people hate on it so much
@lukemiarecki5024 It might look “better”, but it lost the charm the original had
@@rizalazifk I never got to play the OG version but I know what you mean
