Challenge for preserving a traditional craft of Tohoku (northern area of Japan)

Yoshinori Niiyama, a traditional craftsman of Kokeshi doll of Yajiro family, expresses his thought of traditional Kokeshi doll. Traditional craftsmans of Kokeshi doll have been facing a conflict; whether they follow pop culture to survive or persist in their tradition.
Kodama project is aim to introduce the charm of traditional Kokeshi doll and its craftsman to revive the tradition.
