FYI, the actual reason that Hercules howls at sirens is because the sound hurts his ears. For suggestions on what to use for the goats to prevent ticks go over to Hidden Heights Farm with Kevin and Rachel. They put out a specific mineral to prevent ticks, lice and other parasites.
Yes! They use a garlic lick I think? Plus loose powder minerals on demand which r essential.
Its Redmans brand mineral lick
The Redmond salt with garlic is used by most of the farms l watch.

Oh my goodness! When he found that tape measure I nearly sprayed my drink everywhere. Thank you so much for making me laugh so hard. Instead I forgot about my grilled toast and burned it. Kyle, I will never think of a tape measure without thinking of you for the rest of my life. A friend came over during the power outage and asked if I had a tape measure, and I burst out laughing. Of course I had to relay the story about Shanon and her antics. He got a kick out of the story. Thank you JR for coming to Kyle's rescue. What an incredible job, and he learned quite a bit from your wisdom. Well, if you ever get the urge to 'work' again, maybe JR could put you to good use. I just love how you are both willing to learn and grow. I'm proud of you both because so much progress has been made in a short time. Sending you both hugs and love from Michigan.🛠️🔨📏📐

I am glad You were finally able to get some help with the shed roof. It really turned out great, and keeping out the wasps in a must! As for Herc, he may have jumped off something and gotten a hairline fracture, the only way to tell would be with an x-ray. So he may need to go see a vet. I will pray that it's nothing serious. 💖🙏💖

Eddy's Family Farm has Herc's sister and she has limped since she was a puppy. Maybe it is a genetic thing in that litter.
Smokey is not from the same family eddy fam dog and herc have different parents than smokey, also eddy family dog limps because toenails grow in wrong direction if she gets worse the vet will have to permanently remove nails. Herc was not born with that problem
There dog is missing a bone in the leg
Their puppy was born with a deformed foot. Herc's limp is recent

Think you need to take your baby to the vet those two goats are so spoiled but you need to start getting some more just in case something goes wrong The storage sheds looking good. Glad you taking him to the vet tomorrow

Have you ever thought of using Vienna sausage to put Hercules's medince in? It worked great for our dog. You can use the whole sausage or cut it in half and just push the pill right into it. Works great, the pull is less likely to fall out, and he'll think it's a treat 😉

Yes, he is still favoring his back leg. It must be sore. Peanut butter is a good cover for meds also. What a blessing to have JR's expertise and help and you learning his skills. So good there is no wind while you all are doing the roof. You got so lucky in dealing and learning from this gentleman. So nice when people do things right. Love how you all are doing your projects. Wow!!! What a great gentleman to share all the tricks. These are skills you will need on the Well House, chicken house and container sheds for feed storage. You all are the best! All the best to yoU.

Hercules looks like he's in pain and favoring his hip/leg more than he is a foot injury. They will typically limp on a foot sore or injury but will hold up a leg/hip injury, fracture, pulled muscle or dislocation.
Could one of the goats have rammed him in the hip or knee?

What I did with my dogs was squish the pill in cheese like you but hold another piece in your other hand so he can see hes getting more and swallow the pill quicker. Shed is looking great.

The goats are funny and cute. If goats don't like the new feed maybe get some molasses to spread on the new feed.
Molasses is what they are trying to avoid. Goats don’t need grain at all. Hay and grazing forage is best. ❤

The atmosphere is always so easy going and light while watching you guys. Kyle you have a great sense of humor and a wife who receives it well. Shannon you can give it back with such loving finesse and keep Kyle in check. What a pleasure watching you guys as you accomplish projects together.
I love how various bits of your property will forever have fond memories of the friends you made along the way - it's Rob's well, it's JR's roof, it's, I dont remember the name, with the pallets; both your dads with the landscaping and such.... A life built on so many great memories already, with love and laughter, even before you get to the housebuild!
