My heart goes out to Dean for thinking about the fishes well-being in thinking about what the fish see below them and trying to make them as happy as possible.
I've always thought the bare bottom tanks confuse the fish. This is a great option for those who want that option.
He's got a plethora of bare bottom breeder tanks tho
Beautiful fish - and I love the idea with the air-stone rocks (almost as much as I love the t-shirt!!)
Wild Discus are so much more beautiful than the solid color strains, I love the stripes.
Well done, when I finish with this 55g shrimp tank, I'm going to start on a South American tank, 75g and Discus are definitely on the list.
I bred Discus years ago and it is all coming back to me, I can't wait to get it all set up.
And who sells those T-shirts?
Aquarium adventures on RUclips
@@BONP1E Sweet, I checked them out, they got trucker caps and coffee mugs too.
Thanks
Amazing work as always! Mr. Dean is real inspiration for all Fish breeders, always enjoy videos with him! Thank you!
Pat's Fish Tanks absolutely stunning Discus 😊
Free... Dean's magic word!! 😂😂 Corey should let Dean decorate his 800g one day.
Wouldn't a school of discus look great in that 800?
Good excuse for another trip back to Peru after the quarantine. They were some of my fav videos too.
Amazing looking discus. Although it’s very simply set up, it’s enjoyable and relaxing to watch 👍
'nature' aquariums are definitely the iwagumi of 2020 but I think the most natural looking, aesthetically pleasing tank I've seen online is Lumpy/lungy's tank, nobody does clean, natural aesthetics like Dean!
Those Discus are stunning and displayed perfectly, great work as always
That tank is very relaxing I love that color of discus more than any other discus I've ever seen thanks Dean for allowing us to see your tank I love it and thanks Cory for putting this out
Beautiful tank! Best example of sophistication in simplicity.
Your Discus are awesome looking Dean. I really love the idea of the slate on the bottom. I never cared for the bare, glass bottom tanks but this idea is ingenious, and it looks so good.
woah :O I love the tile idea, gives the impression of gravel/rock and wont move when you water change haha
Last time I was this early, Cory was leaving for peru. love the wild discus
With all the amazing colors of discus, the wild type is still my favorite. These are fantastic!
Thank you Dean for sharing both your fish and knowledge. I continue to learn a lot from both You and Cory. I look forward to both of your's videos. Please continue to remain safe and enjoy life because you never know when your number will be called. I have loss many of my healthcare friends trying to help out the sick.
I just learning from you guys, so much fun to be able to learn about the hobby from my own home! Thanks for all you guys do!
Genius idea! I could watch these fish all day long! Great job guys!
For sure textured tile as a bare bottom alternative is gonna get renewed popularity. Great job Dean! I like seeing the love a person puts in a tank, it encourages other hobbyists to do better.
Even after a rewatch Dean videos I still learn something I missed. Cool video!
The wild strain discus look soo much better than the man made hybrids we have today... in my opinion. Really enjoy watching what Dean is up to!
For the uplift tube to blend in, he could grab a second one and cover it in silicone and press sand and small gravel into it similar to some DIY backgrounds
Those are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing them grow and breed! Cheers
Dean is so chill.
Beautiful Dean!!! Love this tank and the Discus!!
Alright Deano!! AWESOME discus, beautiful. 👍 I like the tile/slate bottom, I've also have done my backs sometimes. Had a mixed group of discus yrs ago when a guy was moving from here overseas and couldn't take them. He came out to inspect set up, and food and my other tanks before he wewd😂 let them go...he to gave them to me as well. They were Gorgeous!! Had them about 14 yrs....Angels are my second favorite do to my aunt's tank as a kid.... it's all her fault!!! Thank You Aunt Elizabeth ️💕 !
👍👍👍
Absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you ~
You and Dean are awesome 👍🏼 keep up the awesome work guys
Gorgeous discus. Very nice. I wish you all the best, my friend.
That is beautiful! And totally highlites those beautiful fish. Nice video!
excellent looking tank... i really like that ceramic tile idea put to use... great looking discus
Beautiful tank, great fish. When I kept discus (20 years ago!), my favorite was my solid brown wild type. All of them loved good quality flakes, so its not surprising to see them like flakes here as well. That said, I usually fed them Hikari discus pellets which they seemed happy to eat as well.
Love the tank with the tile. The tile makes it a whole other thing with a solid color in the bottom bare bottom style. Makes me want to change mine from sand to tiles. It's like Dean said, halfway without substrate not being glass.
I see this kind of Discus for the first time. They are beautiful.
Beautiful setup 😍
Incredible looking discus!
Just "simple" and very beautiful! That's Dean's brand.
dean it's like a storyteller, every time he talk he is like telling a story :))
Love that tank! Magic!!
Every dean's fish room vid gives me life.
Nothing beats the wild coloration!
Love it ...after many years of hybrids , wild are lovely indeed ..I have the same back ground ...love it
Absolutely stunning Discus. I hope you have much success with them breeding. Greetings from Germany
Beautiful discus.... can you guys please explain step by step how you treat fish in quarantine. The process, meds, de-worm etc. Thanks guys.
Somehow it works! 👍 Great looking tank!
I love wild discus. I have browns in one tank and domestics in another. I recently bought 3 wild yellow Mari Mari heckles and put them in with the browns. They are an absolutely stunning pair of discus breeds along with my orinoco altums.
I love that tile as bare bottom tank solution!
Awesome video love more tours of deans fish again
Wow Dean, They are Beautiful. A nice way to finish out My Granddaughters 1st Birthday. Cory, Dean have a good night.
Very nice quality video of the fish !
Dang that is one beautiful tank....thanks for showing.....
Very Beautiful Tank.... 👍
Gorgeous fish! Pretty tank too!
so beautiful. simple.
Lovely discus 🐠🐠🐠🐠
Keep the Dean videos coming Cory.
Beautiful tank !
Would love to learn about his way/process of getting wild fish to eat prepared foods or the foods he wanted to get them on. Incredible fish and incredible tank. Thanks for sharing.
BEAUTIFUL!
Those are gorgeous
Wow they look good.
More of this please!
beautiful discus fish
Hi, I love the tank. Beautiful Discus, take care. Bill
I couldn’t give this enough thumbs up. Great video!!!!
Beautiful tank 🤠
My favorite kind of discus set up ❤
Love that tank dean!
At first glance, i didnt like this tank, but after a few minutes of observation i find it very nice. The discus are so slow moving its almost therapeutic, very beautiful cant wait to get my own some day
Love the background
I would be very glad f I could visit aquarium Co-Op one day Im from mexico stay safe cory and all the gang! Blessings from Sonora.
Hi there. I love the video and idea of the tiled bottom. Is there any update on how it is working out? I know there was some concern of the small gaps between tiles. Thanks!
yea more discus! so awesome!
Beautiful..👌
Nice discus. I enjoy my discus also. I have salt tanks.
Dean your young wild discus are beautiful Dean are you usein a cannister filter on your 75 and if so what media are you using thanks
Dean! How do you drill the holes in the rocks for your airstones. Would love to see how! Its beautiful.
Wild caught discus are on my list of breeding projects, they may just have got a boost up the chain now too. I'm super torn on them, chichlids and plecos,,,, i guess i need to get all 3 going lol.
very nice
The more dean the more I watch
Wow I love these wild discus! Nice to see they have relaxed and acclimated to the fish tank!
What kind of metal racks does Dean use? I’d love to get one that I know works well for some new tanks.
Wonderfull
Cool idea the bottom with plates, nice looking fishes and great story! You may optimize your water change with your overflow: let down the overflow tubing up to e.g. 3/4 of the height. Put a pump hier in timer, once a day the min e.g. 1 min, only job in fact is to start siphon in overflow tubing. Water go down 3/4. Siphon deactivate. Then fullfil slowly the tank. Back to normal. Benefit? Avoid dilution of dropping overflow. Would you have already tested that? Thanks for sharing ;-)
Awesome video! Got a question for both of you. Have you guys collected anything in high altitudes in Peru 🇵🇪? 8000ft and above. My question being some of those high altitude creeks freeze or experience colder temps than the Amazon drain basin.
Natural Heckle Discus are the best. While the color variants interesting, these are the way nature intended. Love it.
I had a thought the other day.. Can you somehow make a permenant sand bottom ? Maybe with some kind of cement?
Great vid, Dean is like the hold my beer guy but with aquariums. Corey says, brown on brown on brown? Dean says Hold my tank lol. Hold my tank or Your gonna need a bigger tank could be funny shirts.
🤔🙏🏽absolutely beautiful 👍🏽
What kind of rocks are those that you could drill in them?
best show on youtube
How was the lid constructed on the side with a spray bar?
@Deansfishroom how did you run the air line? With out it being visible? I know how to cut the rock so I commend you on that its not an easy process.
what size were those tiles cut at cause i am planning on tiling my 75g oscar tank
I have a quick ? I purchased 6 discus and had a pair spawn in my tank twice within a month. Should I remove them or leave them I did not plan on spawning them but it has happened. Also the female has stopped eating after 2nd spawn. Concerned for her.
My water is naturally hard (11dH), would it be possible to keep discus with that hardness?
What wormer do you use?
They look very healthy
I have a discus problem. I recently purchase 4 from a local store (my first ever!). Three are thriving and one is not. Ironically, it is the second largest one. It has not eaten since I got them three days ago, and has mostly stayed in the shadows. It is the clear low man on the totem poll. I am concerned, as it is such a beautiful fish. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
Nice
