Rumble in the Bronx was the very first Jackie Chan movie I saw as a 10 year-old, and this scene was my introduction to Jackie's martial arts. After this scene I became an instant fan.
replying to a two year old comment* first movie was city hunter, then the medallion, then tuxedo, then rush hour, then drunken master. I even owned jackie chan stuntmaster for ps2 lol.
Also same, but it was the first kung fu move I'd ever seen and led me to Bruce Lee and other great actors and films. Friend of mine put it on and I was instantly hooked.
I like how Jackie did this scene. This was my introduction to his style and speed. I was hooked since then. This was his way of re-introducing himself.
Jackie Chan has been a hero of mines since childhood and nothing has changed since then. He's a phenomenal talent and a great human being. I'm just here to give my respects to the living legend Jackie Chan, AKA The Fearless Hyena
I don't think people give Jackie as much credit that's due. He's one of the most bravest, talented people walking this earth and many won't realize it until he's dead :(
Especially what he can do outside action comedy! He can sing and even in several languages! That Beijing Opera house he grew up in along with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao had some crazy training (even though nowadays the punishments have been toned down due to dangers of abuse)!
I’m still obsessed with these, the best for me was Rumble in the Bronx, Mr. Nice Guy, Jackie Chan first strike, Legend of the Drunken master. They will always be close to my heart.
FANFACT:Jackie Chan was one of the original bruce lee impersonators starring in 1976 Fist of Fury 2 i think he would of made a great ip man but i think sammo hung if he dropped all his fat would of made a even better ip man because sammo has been a long time practitioner of wing chun and he JKD he was more a bruce lee fan than jackie was
@@leejee88 Funny thing is that Bruce and Sammo used to have beef back in the day due to miscommunications and scheduling conflicts: ruclips.net/video/vjG27-g-iaU/видео.html
ShaoLinh Rumble in the Bronx was what he considered his Wing Chun movie. He learned it specifically for it and used it throughout the film with his regular style
50+ years of thinking about how to punch, block a punch, kick, How to run away and set yourself up in a advantageous place... And have all the master of the world go "Wow..this guy can really do it!" Even if he has never been in a real competition...C'mon...he can't be that bad if it is real fighting. 50 years of reflex from training would outclass a navy seal who has been training martial arts for only a few years. Even if you beat him to the ground...the Grim Reaper would come and save him as he has over Jackie's lifetime.
Jackie Chan learned other kungfu styles from stuntmen and fight choreographers on movie sets. He learned just enough to look the style, not enough to teach the style. Jackie learned wooden dummy set from Leung Ting, nephew of Leung Sheung, Yip Man's first master student. Leung Ting claimed to be Yip Man's last closed door disciple. Sammo Hung learned Wing Chun from his movie partner Guy Lai, master student of Jiu Wan, who learned from Chan Yiu Mein. Chan Yiu Mein is son of Chan Wah Shun.
chan is a seasoned veteran next to donnie yen jackie has been doing what he does since he was 7 hes the better martial artist by miles not taking anything away from donnie yen though of course
@Scythehalotrial Build one. Just make sure you use good material. And if you don't know how to build one, learn how. Think of it as expanded lessons in the art--assuming you practice Wing Chun.
I've done forms in a bunch of styles from wing chun, karate, feng shou, tai chi, taekwondo, but I tell ye, none of them are as fun as the wooden dummy form :) The skill floor is low so it doesn't take a hell of a lot to feel like an absolute master once you get used to the angles and footwork, and when you can improvise with flow, it feels reeeeal nice. Great fun, recommend to anyone who enjoys martial arts :)
thats fuckin INSANE! i love how fast he hits it haha i wish he kept on going i wanted to c more its very interesting i want to do wing chun but theres none where i live, ima martial artist and i have some sparring videos if u guys want to c it.
Little brat Danny had to roll in and ruin it. Jackie was about to turn super Saiyan bruh. Also, the director/cinematography should get more credit for this scene. The way the camera focuses/closes in slowly with the music buildup/creeping in, and different shots. Filming martial arts is so underrated.
Very impressive Jackie Chan very impressive I wish I could have had been doing Wing Chun a long time ago when I was in karate actually pretty amazing when you study martial arts very very impressive and powerful and unique and most of incredible it all depends on how you use the martial art ☯️🥋🙏😌🙏🥋☯️
This scene still gives me chills to this day. Pure art in motion.

Damn I remember begging my mom to take me to the theatre to see this back in the day. This scene still lives rent free in my head and I’m 38 now 🤣
they say "just a stuntman"....
i say "stand against him for only 2 sec if u can"
🤣🤣 I agree with you and only the real stuntman know pain

Same, but I was 13.
JoeBlo2 Lol same! I was 11. Didn't know I was watching a living legend on the big screen at the time but now I do.

My daughter was totally infatuated with Jackie Chan when she was a young child. She watched his movies on repeat constantly. 🥋
Watching this gives me goosebumps.Jackie is a living legend.

Jackie Chan is a real definition of a real life superhero
Jackie was really fast back then!

Below the vid it says: no description available. That's because there is no description for how talented Jackie Chan is.
Loved this scene in the movie. Jackie Chan is such a inspiration.

Jackie Chan is amazing, Great martial artist and a legend its going to be sad when he dies :( I Love martial arts.
Sick....I'm impressed. just mad that he and jet li, haven't done more (than one) films together, especially in the 90's.
I wonder how different it'd be had Jackie taken the role for Ip man instead of Donnie...
Andy Zhang I'd be curious to see that
Just as good

Andy Zhang I think Donnie Yen nailed it, but it would still be just as good with Jackie Chan.
maaaaan, jackie should do a only wing chun movie.. that would be so bad-ass and he dont have to move that much either :D
ShaoLinh Rumble in the Bronx was what he considered his Wing Chun movie. He learned it specifically for it and used it throughout the film with his regular style
This is one of the best scenes in the movie. The other is the great jump he makes later on. Impressive.
I found it on vancouver bloodalley street in google map...this stunt is amazing, he can't see where he fall before the jump...
A great movie, and a fantastic scene. That’s one of Bruce Lee’s skills no one has ever seen him do
I watched his movies when I was growing up, this certainly was one of the best!
GODDAMNIT KID, YOU STOPPED HIM!
+Anza TNT Not impressive, he ws just doing straight blasts at the end
"Not impressive" Look out we have a badass...

I heard somewhere that this clip was actually SLOWED DOWN 25%. I don't know if I believe it, but if it's slowed down at all that's incredible.
Hi Keung. Good moves. You're #1!
50+ years of thinking about how to punch, block a punch, kick,
How to run away and set yourself up in a advantageous place...

Rumble in the Bronx. Now, THAT'S a film I've not seen in a long long time
The scene that made Jackie Chan my favorite when I was a teenager.
oh shit, Rumble in the Bronx!
thats the first jackie chan movie i ever saw... :)
My first was Lucky star and Armour of god 2, then a was hooked...

@luxiniv320 Indeed... it's apparent Jackie has mastered almost all fighting styles.
would love to see him do a wing chun movie like ip man.
That boy Jackie different 😂
That speed though
A masterclass right there 👌
Como olvidar cuando Jackie Chan conoció a Don Cecilio chino.😅😅
"hey, uncle"
that coming from jackie chan, I was expecting to hear a different kind of uncle here
this style is wing chun ?
