I just finished the fellowship of the ring and HOLY COW! What incredible writing. The pages read themselves. Throwing on the movie soundtrack and kicking back with a pipe of weed and a tea..I legit have to read two towers next; but I picked up 2010 odyssey 2 as a pallet cleanser. 😅 next week!!!!
Fellowship of the rings is my favorite out of the books with Two towers in close Second. The way you feel about Legolas is the same way I feel about Frodo. Also my top 5 favorite lord of the rings characters are - Frodo - Legolas - Pippin - Merry And - Gandalf There in my opinion such great charcters
Legolas is the son of Thranduil, which makes his friendship with Gimli all the more remarkable, considering that Gimli's father Gloin was imprisoned by Legolas' father some sixty years ago. Since Legolas is already a few thousand years old, he must also have been there.
I don't recall the book mentioning Legolas' hair at all… or whether he's bald or anything (not that Elves seem to generally be bald) The talking trees… Right. Are you also looking forward to Legolas' brother turning the Orcs to the side of good by making Elvish cookies? Yes, Gandalf the Grey's death is tragic. I will say I also personally felt I knew Merry and Pippin within the first seven chapters.
Haha the hair comment I made definitely came from the Hobbit movies... also, elvish cookies?? Never heard of them, but they must be really good to do wonders like that!!
The movie makes Legolas a blonde, but I don't recall Tolkien specifically describing Legolas's hair. Most Elves had dark hair and gray eyes; the Elves of the house of Finarfin (he's in The Silmarillion) were blondes, including Galadriel.
@@mirandas_universe I am enjoying it but! Truth be told, it’s not as good as I thought it was. His writing is incredible, though, the story, alas, is not so much absorbing. So far I would give 3.5 star.
@@dondominicoseliga8723 oh that's a bummer! Hopefully it picks up, I would imagine it is popular for a reason. Prayers and best wishes for you as you finish up the series!!
@@mirandas_universe my next challenge is Lord of the rings. I have read the Hobbit and… it did not grip me at all. Nevertheless, I hope that Lord Of The Rings will entertain me😊🙃😉By the way, kind regards from Poland🇵🇱
@@dondominicoseliga8723 oh wow! I hope you enjoy lord of the rings! The first time I tried to read it, I also did not have a great experience. However, now I'm really enjoying it, if you couldn't tell :) Also, thank you!! Kind regards in return from the USA 🇺🇸
The 2nd book is most people's favorite (as well as mine) because it has far more things going on in it. Plus a certain little creature will show up... Yeah Gandalf the grey did die. Sad. Glad you are enjoying it. Make sure to try to pay attention as much as you can. I've noticed your reading comprehension can give you trouble at times.
Thank you for the comment! I am so excited to continue the series! I have heard similar things about two towers, I cannot wait to pick it up! Also, what makes you think that my reading comprehension gives me trouble? I do enjoy classics and archaic language just fine. If It was my dune video that made you believe this, I would like to point out that I read it three years ago, and I have never been a fan of sci-fi. At least I am aware of it now haha
@@mirandas_universe haha no no, it's not about your dune video. I don't mean to come off mean, so I apologize if it comes across that way. I've just noticed you miss details or ideas presented in some of the books (or at the very least you just don't talk about it) and this particular story has a LOT of subtle things weaved into it. Often times, a sentence has far more meanings than what you just read. The two different plot ends in this series are great examples of this.
@@PhoenixBlade I gotcha! Yeah actually while rewatching my video I noticed there was so many things I never commented on. The council of Elrond, the sweet dynamic between Gimli and Galadriel, the reappearance of Gollum. I missed a lot, but I definitely caught it all (I think haha)! My big problem right now is remembering the names for the different cities and characters. I will heed your advice and pay special attention moving forward!! :) thank you!!
@Miranda’s Universe if you ever have the willpower to read the silmarillion, you will find out what a big meaning Galadriel giving her hair was is general, not to mention giving it to a dwarf. That hits like a sack of bricks in meaning afterwards.

@@johnwalters1341 I think dark-haired Elves are primarily ones of Noldorin descent, and Legolas is Sindarin or Silvan.
I am reading The Dark Tower Series from Stephen King. At the moment I am reading volume IV. This is one of my new year’s resolutions🙃
That's my next series tackle!! How are you enjoying it so far??

I fell the same way about legolas a can think he is ok and I can think he is amazing😤😊
Ah yes. The LotR pipeline of "i wanna be an elf" to "oh, I am a Hobbit"
it is so real

Finally!
Edit:dwarves>elves
Gandalf is not dead He is alive you'll see and probably next couple chapters okay like 10 or something but you'll see
😭
Well technically he is dead
He is dead. Also, it might not be a good idea to give spoilers.
If you need to right the places and characters names to make it easier for you to remember them
That's such a great idea!! Thank you! I'm also hoping that as I watch the movies it'll help me with names and places :)
Great video
Thank you!!
Did you watch the movies before reading the hobbit and lord of the rings
No I didn't! I watched the movies afterwards :)
