I totally understand why you quit lol. The writing in the 2nd book is lacking in comparison to the first book. I'm always a fan of not wasting time, so I say if you feel strongly about not reading it, then you should definitely find a different series that you'll enjoy waaay more. However, if you wanted to try again just to see, then go for it!! :) either way, I wish you happy reading!!

@ wait end of watch is getting really good, I did not see the supernatural aspect coming or the cancer. But the cancer is a kind of fitting end, instead of just having Hodges be out of shape since retirement. My goal is to finish iron flame this year and maybe get to onxy next year. I don’t like not finishing a book, even if it takes me half a year to get around to it.

I personally am not a fan of spicy scenes so there were a few I had to skip throughout these first two books. However, I love the plot and world so much that it is worth me continuing reading :)

I have very mixed feelings, I enjoy how free-flowing and forward she is. However, iron flame was way too choppy for my personal taste. She does a phenomenol job writing fight scenes though!

haha I'm working on it! For some reason, recently it has been feeling like a slog to get through. I finished the "drawing of the three" a few months ago and just have not had the heart to pick up the next one yet... please convince me to do so

@ The Waste Lands is the one that seems to be the favorite among Tower Junkies. Most people who read the series believe it is one of the highest points in the series. It is also top tier Tower for me as well.

Oh yes, I am halfway through "Shift" and am baffled that this series has gotten even better than "Wool"

@ yeah I totally agree, I like shift more because it’s less setting the stage and more of the history combined with some silo politics. I’m watching your new video and saw the Mercedes trilogy, have you read those?

I have! Mr. Mercedes is one of my favorite books by King, and the rest of the series is amazing as well. :)

Hi! I personally think it is a very adult book, however if a 14 year old has been reading stephen king for a while, I think they could handle it :) there is a lot of scary content and explicit content as you can imagine. Definitely have some discretion, if I had a 14 year old i would probably tell them to wait until they are 18 to read it. But of course, it is up to each individual :)
