- Take with a grain of Salt but I love the Warm Audio brand new WA-67 tube condenser microphone.
Budget wise it makes the grade 10 fold!
I’ve added to my Mic Locker and have already made 1/2 dozen records and EPs using proudly rubbing shoulders with some of the greats ( microphones )

Hi Manny,look into the ISK mics also, good Chinese mics which leaves my bigger brands on the shelves. Advance Audio dont get alot of push while it is replacing original big name mics in big studios

Man, that was a beautiful drum sound!! Warm audio stuff, in general is amazing bang for the buck!! My personal favorite budget mic is the Roswell audio mini K 67X. I run that through one channel of my SYTEK, 4 channel tube, preamp and it just sounds lovely!! It works amazing whether it’s a singer or a screamer!!

@@mannysmiclocker oh, I love that thing!! As you said, it’s a tube preamp, but they are clean! Do you have the one that has all of the switches for air and low end and all of that!?? That’s the one I have! And you are spot on you can find those every now and again for under $1000 for, four channels of awesomeness!!

Thanks Manny,so gratefull for this information.I recently purchsed a matched pair of R-10 ribbons around 1200.00 canadian.These mic are work horses for me.they are some of the best for less.With a mic pre they are even nicer.More for less I hope this contributes something to someone.Peace, everyone and lets all keep sharing the knowledge we have.

Hey! AWESOME!!! And this mic handles the ride cymbal ok?? I know his ride is low and on the right side close to the floor tom, which is how mine is set up. I've had some mics that get a weird, phasey, swishy sound when set up in the Glyn Johns/Bonzo style...
It seemed cool w me but I’ll take a listen…. This track may have had more hi hat honestly so that’s why it didn’t seem odd

I bought a Sterling ST69 tube mic from a dude for $150 and that thing rules as a room mic. Has a Cardioid, Omni, & Figure of 8 pattern switch, a high pass switch, and a -10db switch 🤌🤌
Is that’s sounds the right mic for a studio tool box multi pattern Rule!
I bought mine for $700 in 2012 x_x , it got good use though and somehow it was a great replacement for my lack of ribbon mics, great for rooms, horns and guitars of all kinds but it was a little disappointing for vocals for me so I sold it for around 150 then a year later realized I was foolish to sell it honestly
