The Asian Dude I saw lots of winners and forced errors, not sure what you're talking about. They're not aggressive full-court players in the classic sense, but they are certainly not pushers. Don't let the camera angle fool you, they are generating tremendous pace and spin on their shots. Have played against some former D1 players recently, and it certainly wasn't "boring".

Would have liked to see a little more attacking from both guys earlier on. There were some very impressive lung-busting points but a few of those short balls should have been pounced on.
You're right but when you're in a match situation like them it feels super risky to go for corner shots or low percentage shots. They just want to keep the ball in to avoid errors

Both players have ground strokes born of thousands of hours of practice. Most of the shots are landing around the service line and are extremely high percentage. Each players game is geared to wait for the opponent to make a mistake. Makes for great rallies. With this many shots taken, I'm surprised these guys don't both have tendinitis. I wish we could see the scores as the video unfolds. Fun for a tennis fan like me to watch.

Semi-western aint that extreme these days. Young bucks battling from the baseline. That's what they like and these 2 are good at it. I like attacking tennis too, but these little backboards would be a chore to play against.
That fall @ 8:20 could have been a LOT worse. He got lucky that his foot rolled over the top and not the side
In march of 2016 these guys were 56 & 80 in college tennis.
I'm not saying they'll turn pro... but let's give them credit, both play really smart, consistent tennis.

USTA 5.5 players will not win more than 2 games from any of them. These are blue chip level players from my observation, if any one care to verify from tennis recruiting
donmwang Mitch Stewart was ranked 16th nationally when he graduated high school, number 2 in Washington and the northwest section, and a blue chip, which for non tennis people is better than five stars
No, 5.5? Wow. You severely underrated them. Mitch (UW) was US National 16’s Clay Court Champion and Seattle City Open men’s singles champion. He’s ATP ranked like 1500. That’s a solid 6.0. He’d beat 5.5’s 6061.

I was rooting for David the whole time, especially cause the crowd, based on the sound, seemed to be rooting mostly for the other guy. Glad he won.

These guys play great. RUclips critics in full effect on this vid. 2 baseline players playing wonderful tennis. For high roller risk takers rush the net would get burned 70% of the time by these guys. These type of players love a target. Some chump coming to net is probably their favorite target.

Why is every shot landing inside the service line.These shots give no pressure to the opponent.
Great consistency and atheltism. But why on earth would you play a style like that? Looks more like a practice really to me. Not agressive enough and also lack of slice, short balls and agressive net play.
heladar, what's your utr, considering you believe this level of play is similar to a practice session, you must be at least a 13.5 or above? I'd be curious to see how'd you fair against these two.

Nathan Charles I think he means they aren’t attacking as much when they get the chance and it ends up with longer rallies. I’m okay with that they are obviously amazing players but I do feel like they were holding back. Of course they did hit some winners but this match looked a little conservative.
UTR 14’s. Also, ATP ranked around #1200-1500.

Epic stamina n athleticism of both guys, great hitting....I wish one of them was mixing shots with base line hits, else it's just practice rallies of high order

The guy in the red shorts Kick Serve is phenomenal.
It doesn’t feel like the ball is bouncing very much, the guys are hitting them hard but the ball seems a little dead. With new balls I can’t imagine some of these shots staying up like they are in the video. Great hitting though. Super consistent and solid ball-striking.
Red shorts needs to hit deeper. So many of his shots are within the service line.

People always surprise me, if the "umpf, umpf, umpf" noise was so irritating, why in the hell you heard it during a 16 minutes, when all you had to do was muting it...(don't take it personal)
Just sayin, it’s a college game. You’d hear the same at any basketball, football, or volleyball match. It helps out their team man, chill out.
Most commentators here will be double bagelled by either of them, including me at my highest level (officially USTA 5.0 ranked 10 years ago)
If you are actually 5.0 you wouldn’t get double bageled. You’d be in line with a low tier d1 player
they could have shortened several rallies by approaching the net instead of grinding it out from the baseline.

the mantra for the mere mortals is to hit at 70 percent thought the rally. The only time you you flatten or hit close to max is on the put away shots.
Perhaps I'm not that good-probably not. But, I saw some good tennis here. Granted, one player was fairly aggressive while the other was more of a pusher. But, they both showed good skills, patience and good shot selection up to a point. I would have liked to see more slices and better skills coming to the net. But, both have the flow, movement and consistency of good players. Yes, they could be more aggressive and flatten out their shots for more pace and a deeper ball during some of those rallies. They did go for down the line and angle shots frequently. But, they were both pretty good at getting those shots back. So, I don't think it was a matter of everything down the middle.

For the level of players, which is very high, it is a shame that they only have one type of forehand. This is really preventing them (especially the guy in the black short) from taking advantage of short balls and open spaces in the court.

All I can say is hit the damn ball I thought I watching boys 12's at first then I saw it was college, take some risk hit through the court their rally balls are at the service line don't they teach 3 feet from the base line anymore
