  • Tennis training with Federico Gomez D1 college player:
    Country: Argentina 🇦🇷
    Age: 21
    Height: 6.2 ft / 1.89 mts
    University: Louisville D1
I been working with Federico for the last month, in preparation for a few futures in Europe (France, Italy).
We have been working hard on fitness, especially on a player like him. We focused on serve and volley, with agressive ground strokes with the idea of going to the net. I think his potencial is really good to play the ATP Tour. In 1 year when he finishes his college career, he will be ready to focus 100% in his professional career. We will be there to help him.

For all people that are wondering how he isnt on the atp
Most of the top 200 players when they train they beat the shit out of the best players in the world because they are so relaxed and just give 200% on every ball
But when they come on the court they dont play so good
Theres a reason why some people say-"if you play 70% of your training match youve done a good job"
Top 300 guys are all the same skill level just 90% percent of them are mentally bad or have injury problems

Drills are good, But to see someone hit so many balls without a little 10 sec or more in between is not good for injury prevention. Your body needs time to recover otherwise the wear and tear on the joints is to much especially on hard. Guy hits a very good ball though and his little steps are impressive.

Why is the coach letting this “D1 Player” take his left hand off of the racquet at the ready position? His backhand is underperforming because it’s not left hand dominant. Notice how his back hahaha no slot position, his take back is not square…notice also that he can’t go straight up the line…the angles of his swing positions are off…

  • @coolbroski1555

His hitting is insanely powerful but he won’t get anywhere if his balls are flying with 0 control to the moon man, his footwork is way too much effort, he should move effortlessly so that he can play at this level for 4-5 hours. His strokes are very good, but unconsistent, i’d love to see him play points and when changing rhythm as hitting only hard will not bring you to the top.

Typical modern coaching all based on power and hitting all the balls in the same way like a machine ignoring the most important thing in tennis: the mental approach and attitude to the matches.

Look at the difference in terms of effort when the coach is volleying at the net. That is something you cant't teach.

nice drills...also nice to see a tennis player that doesn't look like a 130 LB marathon runner lol. This kid reminds of the BOOM BOOM Boris Becker days!!

Backhand is weak. Two handed is a liability. Forehand is good. Speed on video and tv seems faster than it is. I was more impressed by the coach. :)

I can't help but feel there's something fishy about this video - does anyone feel that 1:29 is sped up? Look at his feet and when he's serving - it almost feels sped up; especially at 1:50; look at how quick the coach's walking speed is.
