Got a lot link to your site? I'd love to see a side by side of yours to their shitty one. Was their shitty one completed.... ...or had they not shown the finish work done on the grinder to bring it into your tolerance specs?
You do know that this company builds parts for deep sea submersibles, Space-X , Blue Origin, and 50 million dollar parts for nuclear submarines.... right? I'm assuming you also know they have free online training to encourage a new generation of USA machinists that will bring manufacturing jobs back to the US of A This company is second to none. Check them out.
I remember doing a run of three hundred hubs the female on a slotter basically a vertical shaper. On a rotary table using DTI’s for depth and width no DRO.
Dam u gotta take that thing up the keister to redeem your pto?
That’s nice! I bet it’s pretty time consuming to switch inserts on that staggered mill (or whatever you call that badass cutter)
We have wildly different definitions of pto shafting, mine is usually whenever I take vacation and still get called in to keep my machine running
Whats the cutting head called that cuts the slots into the material, is it different from one that would cut a smaller sized spline onto a shaft?
Appears to be a custom shape specifically for this size OD/spline count. Could be wrong.
Send this to Lorne. He loves to leave the PTO switch on
That spline cut looks shitty. I wouldn't brag about that.

The PTO shaft, when you take off the week of the project.

Some aggressive depths of cuts for sure!
I like that Royal live center.
