Ranked choice voting would solve a lot of problems! Only about 30% of elegable voters vote. I think this would entice more people to vote and would more accurately reflect voter's interests. If you want to continue to vote for one candidate you still can with the new system! Just vote for who you want and don't rank any other candidates. I have yet to hear a reason against Proposition 131 that I don't think outweighs the benefits.
I am About Ban on mountain lions or big cats. They are beautiful. However it doesn't make sense putting this on ballot when people are in cities like Denver.
Rank voting is an interesting idea. I'd rather not be an early adopter of it. I would rather analyze how this might be manipulated by the big money. Cats... They are needed to keep the deer and elk populations in control. We don't need to be killing them.
@@jerrypeal653 With the presidential election your vote literally doesn't count. If your party loses the state then all its votes go to the candidate you voted against. With this in mind elections are already rigged.
@@thelearnedman3148 There's a excellent 20 min video called "Why Democracy Is Mathematically Impossible" by Veritasium. It illustrates the flaws in each system. None are perfect, but our current system (first past the post) forces us to choose between two parties with the least bipartisan, tribalistic candidates and the most negative campaigns possible. Ranked Choice Voting reverses this negativity in elections and promotes common ground. Rated Voting is also very interesting.
I'm also interested why you are so opposed to this. It only makes elections more accurately reflect the interests of the population. If you only want to cast your vote for one candidate, you still can!! In this situation you would put your first preference down and not rank any other candidates. The two party system has a lot of problems and this would help put us in the right direction of moving away from it.

I'm male, I don't care if you want an abortion, I care about ME paying for it. This years election so far seems to be a complete waste of time.
Then I guess It will not be a waste of time for you if you vote against Amendment 79.
Then pay for the child’s expenses.
You want an abortion dont expect others to pay for it .
Their is still a "Right" in CO? There's barely a Center left.
If you vote in a primary you should not be allowed to change your vote in the election.
Lol, why? What if you learn something about the candidate you voted for in the primary that goes against your interests/morals?

i'll care about girls rites when they care about men's rites
I will care about your opinion when you learn how to spell rights.
Absolutely NO to ranked voting!
Why? Curious. It seems like a great way to move past these two miserable party machines.
@@thelearnedman3148look it up see how it works to rig elections. See how it can intentionally be for that purpose.
