Oh yes Gilroy, The city that is the closest to my town Hollister CA. Everyone goes there for shopping needs from retail stores that we don’t have here in my town. It used to be a very place for me when growing up. With Gilroy Gardens as their theme park, those were good old days of me going there. It is also the Garlic capital.
Once you hit the top of the hill/mountain and start your descend... It's no longer Gilroy just an f.y.i... that watsonville... I used to work for the Santa Clara County Parks, Specifically Mt Madonna Park.
So this video is labeled as a drive through downtown Gilroy. However you went down Church street. Our Downtown is on Monterey Road. You didn’t show our downtown at all. Or our Outlet mall (which is also famous in the area. Most of the drive (and the video) you were on 152. That section of 152 is known as “Hecker Pass” and it goes over the mountain to Watsonville which is where you ended up. It’s a beautiful drive though with Mt Madonna county park at the top. I can drive that road with my eyes closed I’ve driven it so much.
You are exactly right! No downtown was shown in this video. The hashtag (#Driving Downtown) should be taken off to prevent from misleading viewers. Hey BayAreaNewMan, thanks for bringing this up. I plan to do a video in downtown Gilroy pretty soon.
