You couldn't have scripted a better build-up for a football game ever. The backstory, the hatred, the renegades vs the status quo, present meets past, retribution, resurrection, a reckoning: it's all here. The payoff for the audience were four quarters where every play mattered and it was all left on the field when said & done.
There was also a fumble earlier in the game that the refs ruled incomplete and Miami scored on that drive. And even the Gary fumble is somewhat overblown. I agree with Gary's point that it should have been at worst first down from the 1. But ND picked up only one first down on the ensuing drive, had to punt and Miami got the ball at midfield to set up its last drive. If Gary is ruled down or in the end zone there, ND gets better field position on the ensuing kickoff and probably operates a little differently. I don't blame Miami for feeling that they got the short end of the stick. But I am not especially convinced that the overall outcome didn't net out about the same.
Yep, always said that. Walsh got strip sacked in the first half and it would have been a scoop and score. Ruled an incomplete pass. Lou Holtz always said after this game there were 4 bad calls, and Miami got the call on 3 of them

I love this channel whoever runs it been doin a great job fr. Hope more vids get uploaded as college football comes back
Always was under the assumption Miami got screwed. Turns out they just got outplayed.
If you slow down Miami's last score, he doesn't secure the ball. So for all that dog the refs for the Gary play, they gave you one on that last drive.
