hi from New Zealand, Common problem with Toyota MR2, the electric motor brackets or modulator brackets break? It's just 'wear and tear'. Also you mentioned adjustment bolts, these align the rails that guide the modulator unit, up and down. they must be perfectly align. That maybe one reason why the brackets break. If they are not align, the electric motor moves, as it struggles to push and pull the window down and up. How many thousands of times do you open and shut your car window, Over time this will cause mental fatigue and eventually cracks appear and damage occurs. It's usually the holding brackets that go first. I managed to paid my mortgage off, fixing this problem may times on Toyota MR2.

Even if the switch was bad lets say for the passenger side, wouldn't the passenger switch probably work or vice versa the driver switch work? I think its my motor cause I get nothing from either switch.
