Ok, so this video showed me how the clutch is supposed to work, which it actually turned out to do properly, and put ke on track to figure out how the running gear works, which helped me quickly identify the problem - the bearing on the friction wheel was either seized or iced up. Grasped its hexagonal shaft with a wrench and rocked it back and forth gradually freeing it up until it would rotate freely.

Ktms 85s use the the worst brakes of all time. Even bikes from the 80s have better brakes. Ripoff for a bike to cost 8k. Total complete garbage. Plan on spending another g and putting 125 brakes on them. Unraceable brakes. Fail and fade everytime. Should be an embarrassment for ktm to rip people off like that

Thanks. I didn't know the stop nut was an issue. My master cylinder blew on my Chinese dirt bike and I bought a cheap replacement on amazon and I couldn't get it so it would bleed correctly.

I just found another reason for failure. I have a banjo bolt brake switch that caused an air leak. I first bled my brakes. Then changed the bellows. I was getting it to bleed but no pressure on the calipers. No leaking fluid anywhere. It all started working when I changed out the banjo bolt switch.

My top one won't move. The bottom one moves

I’m having a different kind of trouble. Mine about a month ago seeemed to just die. Turned key got the 11-12v. And as I was getting everything prepped to start I turned the key. Cranked over once and then died. I don’t think it’s battery. Weird because the bilge pump still works. No electrics radio speakers lights etc.

I have an 05 Bayliner, 3.0 mercrcruiser looks identical. Watched this particular video every fall for review several years now. Best part is the method for adding RV coolant! The videos with different contraptions to add antifreeze seems like more work! For the Merc 3.0 that I have 2 gallons is just more than enough. Also pulling spark plugs and spraying fogging oil into cylinders seems like it's more certain that it's getting into engine cylinders. 9 years now in cold WI winters with this method our boat runs great every summer! Also change your oil!

I pump my brake then bleed it and brake fluid comes out, and I'll repeat that over and over again but I never get any pressure on my brake when I press it, it just bottoms out, can anybody help me? I know I could of picked a more recent vid to comment on but here I am hahahah

I’m hearing the one loud click sound so I replaced the starter relay and installed a brand new battery but am still hearing just the one loud click. Any ideas?

I have a 3.0 that, for no reason, will not shut off, I had to pull the coil wire to shut it down, is it the key of a relay sticking, or what ???

On the newer KTMs that have the torque bolt to remove the bellows assembly, that middle bellows ring lasts a lot longer because it doesn't rotate to cause wear. Look for wear or cracking around the edge of the bellows ring before replacing. If you do replace the bellows, it has to stretched to take it off and put it back on. Parts unlimited sells the whole bellows assembly.

You can find the solenoid on Amazon. Search Mercruiser 3.0 starter solenoid. The neutral safety switch mentioned is more commonly known as a shift interrupter switch

If the master cylinder fails. Will it leak? Or, can it fail without leaking?

Thank you! This is the only video that explained where the antifreeze ends up when put into the two port side hoses. Wasted a gallon of antifreeze down those port side hoses until climbed out and found it on the ground.

My voltage is reading real high....16+. Will replacing the relay solve this? Right now the boat will start when it feels like it. Very frustrating.

Thanks a lot man. I've spent 3 evenings trying to fix the rear brake after starting the bleeding the the brake fluid, it was a big mess. In my case I finally understood that I had to unmount the master cylinder to fix it at maximum height to get full pump because the brake lever cannot be adjusted. I don't know why it is not explained anywhere that would have saved hours of my time and I nearly gave up thinking to take my bike to a professionnal for this damned rear brake while the front one was very easy to bleed.

Or remove the brake rod in the master cylinder and use a screwdrive to get long strokes. Sometimes it takes that little bit extra
