  • In this #camping vlog, we'll be #tent camping. We haven't done this in 20 years. We want to see if we'll like it better than before. We have more conveniences than we had then. We're going to use some #solar to charge our Bluetti, show you our new camp stools, new camp pans and dishes, new grill set up, cook up some yummy food and check out the campground. Hang around to see what we experienced and what we liked and didn't. Song used in the beginning and body of the video was obtained through the RUclips music library: Just Breathing by Neffix

    It's been at least 20 years for us too. Kathy and I used to go before the boys and then brought them along till the got older. We didn't quite have all the conveniences you have here though. Beautiful lakefront site and sunset too! Don't think we'd care for tent camping anymore. Thanks for bringing us along.

    We like your logo. Now that's the kind of lunch that we would make and enjoy! We're always opening up cans of chili. And we just had burritos for dinner. As for tent camping; you have to do whatever is necessary to get out while these gas prices are so outrageous, but I hate sleeping on the ground anymore and my trailer bunk is so comfortable. You guys are cool.

    • @HappyPlaceCamping
      @HappyPlaceCamping  Год назад

      Haha we actually did talk about this as an alternative to pulling the camper when gas prices aren’t reasonable. We can do this in our little gas sipper if need be. But we also want to do some overlanding in Colorado, but aren’t really wanting to sleep in the hummer for several days. So trying out this tent thing to see if we think that might work. But we still will get out in the cargo as much as possible. We camped the last couple weekends in it. And I kept thinking how much I really do enjoy it. I’m kind of attached to it lol. Thanks so much for watching 😊

    I am digging your outfit and loving the crocs :) I am a croc lover :) Enjoyed seeing all your new gadgets. The grill looks great !! Like your spot by the water :) I never thought about the climbing in and out. My biggest worry would be a rain storm. Oh I remember the nightmare of a night we all had in the tent some 19 years ago. In the middle of the night the came first that caused the tent to pop in and out with a huge pop noise and then the rushing loud sounding rain that came in the tent in what seemed like buckets full. When all done everything was soaked, very cold and we could not wait to leave, lol It was so fun up until that happened 😊

I agree with you on the tent height though. That was definitely one of my most important requirements of when I purchased my tent earlier in the year. I wanted to be sure I could stand up, move around, and get in or out easy. My bones are achy these days too. Great experiment camp. Looked like you had fun and ate well too. Have a great day.

    Welcome to the tent life! I only camp in tents. Make sure you tuck the ground cloth/tent footprint under the tent, otherwise, if it does rain it will collect the rain and funnel it under the tent instead of acting as a buffer between ground water and the tent bottom. Those bacon burritos looked amazing. That collapsible stool is awesome. I need one.

Those adjustable stools look good. Poor mans Blackstone looked like it worked good! You guys grow some big ole spiders! The thing I don’t like about tent camping is when it’s windy the tent makes noise and wakes us up. Those inflatable mattresses work pretty well until they deflate lol. The first couple of times I was a little scared but got used to it. Used a Coleman 6 person instant tent most of the time but had a chance to borrow a Gazelle T4. I liked it so much that I bought one when it went on sale. I didn't have issues with critters (that I am aware of). Glad you liked tent camping though. That awesome pan set came from Walmart. $26. Can you believe it? I like the one I have in the cargo better, but I also want it to stay in there. Thought this was such a great deal that it made sense to get it for the hummer/tent camping stuff. We’re hoping the weather holds and we can get at least one more tent camping trip in. It was fun, but would like to be darn sure it’s something I feel I want to do. Good tents aren’t exactly cheap.

      @@HappyPlaceCamping Outstanding review of the tent and camping gear.
      First I didn't expect pet owners must know how the environment at campgrounds impacts their pets. I do agree that stools are sturdy enough for large-built bodies. Appreciate your honesty about the tent.
      Well done, Felix and Jesse.Thank you very much.
