    Great video.
You didn't mention that Heighington is the oldest station in the world still standing. It's the boarded up building you showed by the level crossing.
Also, you spelled Middlesbrough wrong a number of times; the story I heard, which may be apocryphal, is that it was supposed to be "Middlesborough" but someone mis-spelt it on the town's Charter.

Excellent journey on a line famous all over the world, but not many has travelled on it, I missed it on my may from Sunderland to Whitby. Regarding the transponder bridge, did I also missed that 30 years ago and I am not sure if it will ever be reopen again, but let us hope I am wrong. Sadly TPE are cutting services in December and stopping at Redcar central instead of Saltburn from then. The reason Redcar has a sliding barrier is first the strong winds off the sea use to bend the boom gates and cause big delays and there is not enough clearance for a proper normal barrier. So they put in a wind proof model instead.

Was the Mr Pease you mentioned twice, the same Mr Pease from Ashmore, Benson and Pease, that evolved into Davy Ashmore ? Also here's a tip, study the wind and get off at Redcar then walk to Saltburn if the wind is in the same direction. I used to ride my push bike from Stockton to Redcar Steelworks and back, 5 days a week for 25 years ( 34 miles per day ) in all weathers. Wind was a major feature of my commute, mostly blowing from Stockton to Redcar but not always but in the summer, on shore breezes were a feature that blew me home for about 3 miles of my journey quite often, with wind developing from the difference between the air rising above the hot land and the cooler sea air filling back in, where the hot air had risen from.

@JohnnyHooverTravels just had a bit of research. The Pease family had a long history in the area. They were quakers from Darlington. Edward Pease was involved in the stockton to Darlington railway and is known as the father of railways as is Stephenson also. The family had many prominent members if you look at their history. From as you say founding Saltburn and providing rail coal routes to London from Newcastle. One was involved with Clevealand Bridge and Engineering company, so overall it seems that their family's wealth and involvement initially stemmed from the railways into other engineering and elsewhere. So yes the Pease from Ashmore Benson and Pease is the same family name. On reading interestingly, one of my female surname forebears also married into the family but none of their money came my way unfortunately lol.
