  • This is Richton Park, Illinois, and it is an All Black American town. It is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.
Most black American towns or neighborhoods are safe and boring. Nothing really happens in these communities.
Even in the black communities in the inner city of Chicago, nothing really happens.
This is because, like most people around the world, black people have to go to work every day, and after work, we come home, cook dinner and get ready for the next day. We have to pay rent, buy food, and pay our bills, so we do not have time to do any criminal activities.
The ones that do criminal activities sleep during the day because they were up all night running the streets. Plus, most of the bad crimes are committed by a handful of people.
Thus, most or over 90% of our neighborhoods are safe and boring.
The bad part about living in any suburb in the United States is the deer taking a number two on everything, the raccoons going into your trash at night, and people hinting a skunk with their car at night.

Grew up there in the 60s & 70s, was a boring white community at that time, mostly rural. Richton Hills, etc, started building cheap working-class homes in the late 60s. Went to Sauk trail, Huth Middle & graduated Rich South in 1980, (HS was brand new back then). Left for a Career in the Army and never went back unless I had to. Last time I was there, around 2003, almost every student leaving Rich South HS was black. Most whites such as I left after HS simply because there was little opportunity in the local community. Local shopping back then consisted of a Zayre's and an A&P grocery on Sauk Trail. A Dominick's Foods up by Rt. 30 and Governor's Drive. In the mid 70's the Matteson Mall on Rt. 30 and I-57 (now abandoned). The best shopping was in Park Forest at the outdoor mall (built shortly after WW II). It had excellent shops and a Marshall Field's. Most of the stores pulled out of there by the 90s. The few manufacturing plants, such as Allis-Chalmers (Forklift manufacturing) that were in the local area went out of business probably in the early 90s. Wasn't a bad place to grow up, virtually no crime and back then we all knew our neighbors. Like much of America, once the good jobs go, so does everything else.

Sorry it had taken me so long to reply. I am travel in Thailand.
Yes. I also grew up in his area in the 70s. I grew up in Park Forest.
Dominick's Foods is gone and the Park Forest Plaza is completely dead.
Lincoln mall is now all gone, all the buildings are gone.

The road you went down, my mom, uncle and I grew up on. I saw my old house. And my grand parents across the streets house. I was one of two white kids at the time at Neil Armstrong elementary school.

Went to Richton Square Grade School (it closed a long time ago), Huth middle school, and Rich South High School. It was mostly white then. 1970s and 80s. There are still some white people living there. Race shouldn't matter. I drive through this area quite often. Still a nice neighborhood.

It can stay that way as long as section 8 people raise their children right

The problem is that landlords nationwide have experienced women that do not raise their children right. This is because they were not raised right.
This has become a growing problems with each generation.
