      Most of the time I thought Ms. Ellie was over her head or had to much time to interfere in the company, JR was basically a copy of Jock business savvy, I'm sure that when Jock was the president of the company a few people probably did commit suicide on his account, successful people who create empires aren't generally nice or accommodating, that's just the nature of the beast, if Cliff wanted to kills himself, while sad, its his problem, not the Ewing's

    Loved Susan Howard/Donna, especially in these early seasons, before they felt the need to glam her up. She had a natural beauty and was authentically a Texan. A very attractive woman/character. One of the show’s bigger mistakes was to write her out, especially as leading lady VIctoria Principal was leaving. It really hurt to lose Donna at the same time (though they didn’t give her much to do during her last season).

    • @bloqk16

      The on-screen chemistry between Susan Howard and Steve Kanaly was something to marvel at. In fact, fans of the show may have gotten so swept up by that, there was a live appearance Steve Kanaly did where he introduced his real wife to the public; with setting the record straight he was not married to Susan Howard. xD

      She was not interesting enough to make her character interesting. I dont think Susan Howard is that talented, and she went off the deep end with her support of the NRA and she kicked up a huge fuss to writers and producers with her refusal to act any scripts that didnt contain her pro-life nonsense. She was MAGA before Trump ever came along.

    One of life's lessons I learned from the *Dallas* TV series was to never hand-over my voting rights of the company shares I owned to another individual. JR's nefariousness with what he did when obtaining those proxies made me a strong believer to never sign-over proxies.

    • @LBF522
      @LBF522 3 года назад +12

      I know it was for drama but the voting shares storyline was dumb. Gary and Ray knew nothing about Ewing Oil or the oil business so it was not realistic for Jock to give these two know nothing shares in the company that he founded. Further, Gary made a joke of it by giving his shares to Lucy who knew less than nothing. Finally, given all the hell Cliff put the family through over the years including trying to have Jock convicted of murder, they should not have cared what JR did to Cliff.

      Ray would have been fine if he hadn't tried to do bussiness. I respect him for trying..and Yes he did have one success with Punk's help. but unfortunately he let it go to his head and he tried again when Punk was with Jock in South America..........and it didn't work out.
      That lead to his depression and even when Punk returned and found out what happen.. he told Ray not to let it get him down that even he had lost on buisiness deals before.... but Ray just gave up and refused to try a 3rd time feeling he was in over his head.
