Well Ellie knew Ray for many many years before she found out that he was Jock’s son so it would be far out of character for her to resent him when the truth came out. He wasn’t some bum off the streets looking for a hand out.
Loved Susan Howard/Donna, especially in these early seasons, before they felt the need to glam her up. She had a natural beauty and was authentically a Texan. A very attractive woman/character. One of the show’s bigger mistakes was to write her out, especially as leading lady VIctoria Principal was leaving. It really hurt to lose Donna at the same time (though they didn’t give her much to do during her last season).
The on-screen chemistry between Susan Howard and Steve Kanaly was something to marvel at. In fact, fans of the show may have gotten so swept up by that, there was a live appearance Steve Kanaly did where he introduced his real wife to the public; with setting the record straight he was not married to Susan Howard. xD
Without Gray or Principal or Howard the thing tanked. Keeping Howard and adding Morgan Brittany as a regular could have helped had they given Donna major stories and toned down the crazy in Katherine
She was not interesting enough to make her character interesting. I dont think Susan Howard is that talented, and she went off the deep end with her support of the NRA and she kicked up a huge fuss to writers and producers with her refusal to act any scripts that didnt contain her pro-life nonsense. She was MAGA before Trump ever came along.

One of life's lessons I learned from the *Dallas* TV series was to never hand-over my voting rights of the company shares I owned to another individual. JR's nefariousness with what he did when obtaining those proxies made me a strong believer to never sign-over proxies.
I know it was for drama but the voting shares storyline was dumb. Gary and Ray knew nothing about Ewing Oil or the oil business so it was not realistic for Jock to give these two know nothing shares in the company that he founded. Further, Gary made a joke of it by giving his shares to Lucy who knew less than nothing. Finally, given all the hell Cliff put the family through over the years including trying to have Jock convicted of murder, they should not have cared what JR did to Cliff.

Before the Writers made Ray a Ewing.. he did have his affair with Lucy.... and later they ignored the past relationship.. when he was made a Ewing. .... kind of a shame they didn't at lest touch on the issue briefly.. after all it had to be shocking to both Ray and Lucy to learn they were family. why not show them deal with that past issue and get over it instead of just ignoreing it.

Ray's biggest problem was trying to prove to Donna he was more then just a Rancher and could be just as successfull as Donna.
Ray was NEVER a businessman, and everything. He was a brawler, but he was a self-righteous brawler, and everything. He should have never tried to prove ANYTHING to Donna, that was where he messed up, and everything.

My ex hubby bought a used one in the late 1990s. Nice ride, good for long drives, with an a/c that cooled the interior like a freezer.
She had a continental which was a little smaller but looked similar. Clayton’s sister kidnapped miss Ellie and stole that car I believe.
I would've loved to have gone for a ride in it with her, wearing that same outfit, and her driving the car barefoot.
