other than the shoreline, nothing. The taxes are outrageous. The makeup has "changed". The town rep's are stealing Covid money from the tax payers. The police need more officers. Blight, homelessness is everywhere. If you likie paying $6 for oil, that's a you problem.
Hi Priyam. I am also from India and will be attending New Haven University. What a surprise to see someone else who is going through the same experience. Hope to see you in Uni. I will be enrolling for a MS in Data Science come September.
@@connecticutcoastallife thank you, I'm just thinking for in the future, I might consider moving out and living in a cheaper CT city like West Haven. I'd might be going with renting
University Of New Haven, which is based in New Haven, is actually trying to move to D1 from D2! There are 3 other D2 schools in the state. They are Post University, Southern Connecticut State University, and University Of Bridgeport. I think should UNH move to D1, University Of Hartford, which is D3 but used to be D1, should move to D2 as there is lots of D3 schools in the state.
West haven has hit hard times. It was on the decline for a while, but the economy tanked. The schools are not great to say the least. Housing may be affordable, but you get what you pay for. Remember, location is everything. You can find the same amenities in other surrounding towns that are better off?
There is nothing good about West Haven. Absolutely nothing, except for the accessibility. The beach is basically skunk land; Most people don’t even allow their kids to get in the water. The town will also tax you for breathing. Also the seafood is beyond sketchy. I didn’t even realize people still eat at Jimmies. Zuppardis gets a pass though. Also, home prices have basically doubled. And has west haven figured out what to do with all those homes they allowed to be torn down on first Ave for some shopping mall deal that never happened?! Eye sore. But hey, I work for YNHH so the commute is fantastic.
I was born raised and lived as a Westie for 30 years. It was nicer in the 90’s now not so much. The beaches are full of drug user needles. The town is rundown. I lived across the Boston post Rd. Before and after UNH was built and right across from it. It use to be an amazing place to live now it’s more like a slum.
Yeah I don't agree with some of your restaurant choices. I got food poisoning from Jimmies and Turks. Bella Villa Pizza is way better than Zuppardi's. Stowes on the other hand is a hidden gem, I highly recommend eating there.
If u want ass worms and like fruit flies then I recommend apps restaurant! The one thing I like about apps restaurant is they sample your food before it goes out to the customer, yes they will eat a fry off the dish? They take a spoon and freely eat out of the mashed potatoes that go out to the customers! 🤢🤮! Especially their Monday prime rib special with mashed potatoes! Disgusting
What do you love about West Haven?
My house
Beaches and boardwalk like she said….born and raised there….now If the stats actually took advantage of this town, it’d be a staple of New England

Wayyyy more quieter and safer than New Haven and Fair Haven.
I m an international student coming to attend the university of new haven by this fall. Excited to be part of west haven.
That's exciting. You will love West Haven!
I grew up in west haven and it has changed, high taxes and high crime

@@jasminegutierrez7251 great! Reach out if you decide to move here...I do rentals too :)
Think Twice!
i moved right back to California after the last day of class at UNH. New Haven to West Haven is terrible....
Most people who want to visit the Haven's live in Milford so they can take the train in, but also live in a very nice area.

West Haven?? That happens to be the worst! Overblown taxes and God forbid you purchase a home, it’s yours for life😂
No one from West Haven eats at Jimmies.
Yes it changed. The food is no longer good

I live and west haven
I’m sorry this town is a trap with high taxes , poor schools , Corrupt politics ,,
EXACTLY !!! 😀😀😀
Agreed 100%. Taxes go up and up, if seniors don't pay them the tax man will take your property.
Is it a liberal city, by chance? Sounds like it to me.
I live in West Haven
How can I rent an apartment??
I will be in touch! Thanks for reaching out.
I've been offered Admission admission to my MS in Criminal Justice and can't wait to b there this Fall...
@@nanapeprah9869 very exciting! UNH is a great school.
Look up Hadley Apartments or look for rooms to rent.

Deteriorated town from 40 years ago ..beaches are only thing town has left
Corrupt Police Department!!!

lolol you said way better than Zuppardi's (#1)
One of the worst cities in Ct
Better off renting, property taxes are high in West Haven.
She has really nice eyes.
