@joesmith7427 I do show the area. You have to watch more than the first few minutes of the video to see it. It's cut between me talking and video of the town.

You are kidding right? I live in Monroe for 50 years. Sure the park is nice, but it is overcrowded and the taxes are high. Go somewhere else.

My husband just got a new job at ESPN in Bristol. Do you have any recommendations about living there or maybe somewhere nearby? We will be renting at first and I am finding it difficult to find anything for a three person family for under $3,000/mo.

@Kym Johnson thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, I'm not as familiar with Bristol as that is a little outside of my territory. But rents are getting higher in the last few years (along with home prices). Try to look a little further away from Bristol and you can probably find some good prices.

I went to college close by in New Britain (graduated in 2016). You can try living in Bristol, but Newington is better. There are other suburbs too, but I find them to be overrated for their high price tag. Newington is pretty much the best option.

If you haven't moved yet, look into Wolcott. It's the next town over, tucked away and it's affordable. The area is considered rural, but we are wedged between two cities. Yet, living here is incredibly safe. We have a nice public lake and a few hiking trails. The schools are small, which means kids get more attention from teachers. It's rated as a good school system. The HS prepares kids for college and for the trades.
We don't have fast food restaurants, but we have a lot of great choices for dining. New haven pizza and mona lisa's are highly rated Italian restaurants. There are a ton of smaller restaurants up and down route 69.
We have the Wolcott fair every year and bands play on the green in the summer. There are lots of local farms with different activities for kids and families.
