That's probably the sweetest Mirage I've ever seen. I remember buying a publication called The Kit Car Buyers Guide back in like 81-82. It was a listing of every kit car available and where to buy them. When I saw that car I instantly fell in love with it. Best of luck with it!
This very car was driven by Phil Hill and Sterling Marlin for a Popular Mechanics article where a selection of super cars were tested. I used to own the car, bought it in California and actually drove it to Texas. Very memorable trip, stopped by the police 7 times, one ticket. Wish I could show pictures with this comment, used to be orange in color, just beautiful. Trailered it to Nashville for a few years and then sold it. The fuel cell is in the passenger side pod, had the tank made from aluminum because the original fuel cell started leaking. It is good to see the car again, looks good in red too and someone added a rear fin. It prob has the same 350 Chevy engine, installed a roller cam with hydraulic lifters, lots of overlap and lift. Will throw flames out of the exhaust when you jump on the throttle. It would be fun to talk with the new owner.
My dream car.... Love the different camera angles! Especially the side view. The M8 this was based on was so super (hyper) aggressive looking. The Manta even more so in it's coupe shape. A big giant wedge shaped wing with 4 tires.
@@forgottenautos8461 it had its own chassis with either a Mustang 2 or Vw front end..Manta Montage were initially based on VWs ,but also had a couple of different frame options
