As a lore person this expansion has been Ground breaking. We barely knew anything about the bray family and now everything is just...like mind explosion with the amount of knowledge dumped on us by the stranger.
Everything they added (y'know, the actual Dlc) is 9/10 stuff. But they cut out half the game and didn't replace it properly, and that's gonna sting pretty bad in the long term.
Cosmodrome could need one at the Forgotten Shore. Takes way too long to get to the Shore by using the closest fast travel spot since you walk through like 80% of the Cosmodrome strike area. And we still could need another Dreaming City spot too.
Content that you can still pay for (Forsaken and Shadowkeep): Items from them should be Immune to sunsetting. Just imagine a new player purchasing the previous two DLCs, only to find out the weapons and armor cannot be infused.
@@planelattice2783 iirc Nightmare hunts are at the new power level, meaning that doing Shadowkeep stuff doesn’t let you do Shawowkeep stuff. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Cool thing, ghost also has some random lines that he'll say when you're doing a raid and you first enter an encounter. I got a line about "6 lights in the dark" when I walked into the Riven boss room. Really cool to feel like ghost is actually there instead of just being an object you see when you die or summon your sparrow.
The dialogue in general this expansion is really great. Being an Exo, the level leading up to the Technocrat was a really big highlight for me, with him, Ghost, and Variks talking about how odd it must be to walk through these halls again with no memory of the last time I was here. Honestly gave me chills, made me feel like my Guardian was a proper part of the world with a real identity instead of just an avatar for myself. The dialogue between Variks and Eramis was really great as well, especially once Variks started to get really upset. Helped flush out both characters a ton, seeing their different opinions on how to save and rebuild their race after everything its been through.
It was incredible. Coordinating to get the vex-chickens facing one way so another person could crit from behind, while the third person ran screaming from the giant ass hydra... fuck yeah
Apparently Drifter's VA had scheduling problems because of COVID, so his absence makes sense (especially on salvation's grip exotic grip, he was supposed to be there)
Honestly I think the big deal with Forsaken/Shadowkeep is they're still paid expansions that drop loot that cannot be used anywhere in the game - even in the story missions they drop in. There's no point to that.
Yea. As a new light from this season, I gotta say, shadowkeep was okay but all of the loot being utterly useless made me kinda... Offhandedly complete it, for the sake of completion? I could, honestly, have saved myself that money and not missed that much. Especially with eris just not being a likeable npc to me.
I agree but I also have to say that I love the new perks. I think Datto overlook that part a bit. We said many times that there's a lot to do but none of it matters. This is my absolutely personal take on the situation: I love the new weapons and the new perks to the extent that I actually want to farm for different rolls; I believe that if we got double the number of weapons but half of the new perks I would have been less interested in them. Fun fact: I do not love the look of the new weapons and I wasn't interested in them, till I got the shotgun from the campaign and it had two brand new perks. I tried it out and it felt great, same for the roket. Combine that with the fact that a lot of weapons got sunset and I need replacements: for once I feel like I deeply care for the new guns. They do not feel like "oh, another 150 hand cannon with outlaw-rampage to add to the other 4 I already have"
I feel like most people would have been satisfied if they just updated the world loot pool. All they had to do was re issue some of the older year 1 legendaries. Also they should have done it so everything you earn this season has the new icon and will be usable for a year.
Imo they added 0 content besides the story missions (which were good). The rest of the stuff added is bounties to unlock your subclass which imo isn't content, its busy work. CoO had more content with the Infinite Forest and the forge.
Na he's whiny af. Constantly bitching at us for doing our thing. He did it back in Forsaken too, constantly "reminding us why we're here". Most people playing are there to shoot things, and the ones there for lore really don't want to be reminded every 3 seconds.
@@PlusOne2Crit In this case, the ghost doesn't want you to stray from the light. Back in Forsaken, he was reminding you that killing uldren wasn't the way to do it ( based on audio clips it sounds like petra and us pulled the trigger at the same time ) we went from god-killer to embracing the darkness. In Beyond Light, you are utilizing the darkness - his kryptonite - he can't revive you if you were to mess up and the darkness kills you, he can't control the darkness like he can with the light supers. He's also made of light *born from the traveler*, he states that "he hasn't felt close to the traveler since we first met the darkness" (or something like that ), I would be a whiny bitch too.
@@winelord Yay grinding all over again for the stuff I already have! How fun! Because you know they won't include things you already earned into the changes so they're all trash now.
On console especially, the faster load times are a godsend the game is 10x better. I also completely agree with your points about how much content is actually being made. It's why I was hoping those xbox/Microsoft acquisition rumors were actually true, because then there'd be more dev support. I think things will improve, but it'll be slow going for a while
I really loved the fact that story content was challenging. I felt like I was actually playing a game instead of wading through a boring tutorial or a dull barrier to the "real game." It was nice to have to play differently
I will NEVER forget my first encounter with praksis. I'd really like some more challenging story-based content that actually had solo players in mind. I'm hoping the higher difficulty empire hunts are soloable or at least not matchmade
Oh my god the lost sectors were amazing, especially now that they're, like, real content. My first time getting braytech security drones or entering the actual hive maze, I was almost giggling. They really felt like specialized mini dungeons.
@@raven75257 I just want to happen it in story missions, open world (Pls more enemies to bash in the head in open world) and normal strikes. Maybe twice in raids and dungeons.
It never made sense to me that for a gunsmith, he can’t even change the fucking barrel, let alone the SCOPE of the weapons we use. Armsday was an incredibly good addition to Destiny 1 and they scrapped it for some reason.
And with one fell swoop you just eliminated the terrible RNG aspect of it. Wow. Now the mats could be RNG still, or what he can craft each day could rotate, but that wouldn't make much sense.
Yep the game just feels so menial and boring to play rn, it’s like they always knock it out of the park with sound, visuals, gunplay, and this time story and lore too. But the activity content and the endgame is just so pitiful it’s like they have people with 0 brain cells working on it, super disssapointing this is going to be my final destiny expansion at this rate I’m so tired of playing the same crap with a different smell.
100% agree with you. I played D1 since the beta, did nearly everything in the game by the end of it, got all my characters to max light yada yada. To then go to D2 and get Jack shit for that felt like a slap in the face. I took a 2 year break after curse of Osiris. That DLC was Dark Below 2.0. I came back to it during shadowkeep, got Beyond Light and while it’s not AWFUL, it’s not great either. It’s just more of the same. I think I’m just going to fall back out with D2 and this will definitely be the last DLC that I get. I’m not going to insult bungie because that’d be immature, but I just can’t be bothered with it anymore. Shame.
@MetsC94 That's why the community (from what I've seen) is asking for all those D1 resources to be ported into D2 and eventually make D2 the de facto Destiny going forward. Sunsetting can work, but we need a Weapons 3.0 system to go hand in hand with it to make sure player investment isn't trivialized by something so demeaning like a timer.
I think that "vastly more enemies" would be a good difficulty modifier to have in the pot. Though who knows if it would actually work with the codebase (every codebase is uniquely terrible).
@@Kalatash Which I get, saying that to be more difficult is one thing, but datto said it because "people keep killing more then I can get to them" which is why I always feel like they need to make Isolated Strikes, No MM. They had nightfall standard for that but only rotated 3 at a time. but now that Nightfall are gone entirely its like.. dumb. its what i always keep asking since Destiny 1 and I still dont understand why they wont. they can add some fun difficulties or challenges for it too. and I know some people could say "Ordeal on Legend" but i feel that shouldnt be the only way.
I honestly wish this was optional as well. To choose matchmaking strikes or no MM. My bf and I are usually just running through content together and it's annoying more often than not dealing with ppl who go afk and get booted, then we get blocked from progressing to next area while it takes someone else to load in. Or in the case of new content, we had to reload the new strike like 3xs to finally get someone who wasn't trying to speed run it. Like sorry this just dropped and we want to actually enjoy the experience and hear the dialogue etc. We like to take our time and in those instances it would be nice to have optional no MM.
Legacy and Legend-level ordeal nightfalls are soloable pretty easily and one gives cores and prisms while the other just gives you the strike specific loot (mindbender, long goodbye, DFA, the ghosts ships and sparrows, etc.)
Definitely the best and most encompassing take I've seen so far. It makes me happy to see a big destiny creator talking about concerns that I share because I really don't have a voice to share them.
my biggest issue with the game right now is just that bungie isn’t utilizing all of the content that they could. A lot of people complain about bungie sunsetting gear and then re-adding them as a different version but i don’t completely mind this if they change the perks on the gear as well. The Tangled Shore, Dreaming City and the Moon are all still in the game so why don’t they re-implement the destination gear. Why don’t we have Legend/Master lost sectors on all destinations? I realize that it does take some effort to update old gear and content but I’d rather them focus first on making all the content in Destiny worth playing before adding new content since it must be easier and faster than making brand new stuff.
Probably because next to no one touched the destination armor at all, as it is and most of the guns at this point are available to use this season a little bit. The raid armor from dreaming city and moon is max 1410 power level(the gear people actually cared about)
It really doesn't take to much to update old gear they still have the models all they change are the perks attached to it everything is already there all they have to do is alter variables which is as simple as going in and editing a txt file.
@@-thesignpainter9486 Deep stone lullaby Is the most beautiful thing they have ever done. It is sad and haunting and I don't even know where it's used!
I mean Bungie had another company when they were with Activision to help them with the expansion. The only way I can think a Forsaken level expansion would work is if they do skip a year in expansion. Otherwise, I think this expansion is a solid one.
Yeah it just makes everything in the future feel disappointing before we even know about it. It’s like “it’s not as good as Forsaken, so why should I be excited”.
The only thing that I'm really going to miss is Mars and Escalation Protocol. Ep was the perfect formula to make things feel alive on a planet. It was right where you spawned, if you started it there is a pretty good chance someone else would jump in, if people aren't already playing it. The weapon rewards were relevant, the armor was beautiful. The enemies were challenging, you could really throw your best stuff at them and they would take it. The activity itself was simply fun and satisfying.
Yesss! Would have been great if they implemented something similar on Europa. But then again they'd get hell for recycling content which I couldn't fault anyone for complaining about, but it def was a fun, defeat waves of enemies game type.
I feel like they could've brought back some weapons that only had static rolls with random rolls. They had lots of good looking guns, like most of the edz weapons (Scathelocke, Lincoln Green, and Shepard's watch for example), and the foundry weapons (lot of cool looking hawke scout rifles that never got much use, and not a single suros sniper with random rolls.) It definitely could have helped with the sunsetting.
Danm, I got to soft cap before even starting the first mission lol. Just did the technocrat mission today, it was easier than it looked for others 20 levels below.
i think the content is fine, and not everything has been released yet, but the most dissapointing part is ONLY 1 NEW STRIKE AND NO PVP MAPS. like wtf??? those are your core activiites please, i hope but i really doubt they will release more in the coming weeks...
I think with forsaken the corrupted strike was a mystery until the first raid completion so I'm not saying have high hopes I'm just saying you're right it's kinda weird to remove pvp maps and not add new ones even though it's a new expansion in its self and same thing goes for one strike? Like wtf i hope they are not counting the disgraced, cause that's literally a reprised version of omnigul.
It’ll be added soon enough, there’s so much more to come from BL we’ve only scratched the surface atm. We have new vendors coming, new strikes, a new Raid, new exotic quests to come, the Deep Stone Crypt is going to be a big thing coming up. I’m so excited to see what’s coming
Yeah it's tough. Everything new that was added (Y'know, the actual DLC) is 9/10 stuff, but the real issue is that they cut out half the game and have done next to nothing to fix it. That's really gonna sting in the long term.
I'm pretty sure that's an Ahamkara since while they can shapeshift, one common feature is numerous eyes (imo this would explain how she got to our timeline). Not sure why they never fleshed it out, but if I was an endangered mythical creature the last thing I would do is appear before the people who hunted me to that point.
The reason the warnock stasis is the best at freezing is due to the fact that bungie said a while ago that the war locks focus on freezing, the titans shattering and finally the hunters slowing
I'm just tired of feeling like I waste my money every time they come out with something. Haven't had that WOW factor since i first started playing d1. It's been a cycle of hoping for things to get better, but inevitably feeling like theres a whole in my heart.
Bungie knew what was going to happen. We knew what was going to happen. How did datto not know that Bungie was going to recycle the same stuff??? Thats what they've been doing for so long!!
I really liked the Born in Darkness questline as well. Before the expansion, I actually took the time to watch the 4 hour long My name is Byf lore video and it was really surprising to learn who the Stranger really is in that context. It is more Destiny which I like, but I agree with you that things are becoming formulaic. Beyond Light's Campaign feels sort of like a middle of the road expansion. Not as great as Forsaken, but definitely better than Shadowkeep.
I feel like the story was too short, you didn't really get enough time during the story to care about any of the characters making Era Mis's death pretty shallow
Being frozen in pvp and pve needs to have a small immunity time for guardian's if your lucky enough to breakout of it alive 9/10 times you just get frozen instantly again
Yeah pve is fine but pvp we need some tuning. Less time frozen, less or no damage taken from breaking out, CANT BE FROZEN IN SUPER OMFGDAGAHEJSOS, etc.
Hi Datto, Thank you for your insight. I have moved away from Destiny (stopped after Shadowkeep and story seasons) but I will always tune into your insight into a game that was apart of my life for so long. I hope you’re still enjoying your time with the game and thank you for making all the content over these years.
@@CapCody I think they might mean how Eyasluna was a sort of legendary hawkmoon (in appearance at the least) and austringer also had a similar look to the two
*this is a solo players experience* Beyond light was a great expansion, but less than mediocre for the price tag, being the same price as forsaken with so much less content, and the grinding being so much less exciting due to the lack of new weapons and the possibility of getting cool new exotics to drop or play on day one if you saved exotic engrams, doesn’t warrant the same the price tag to me. The grinding was just boring and monotonous, grinding is good for destiny but it has to be exciting, if ur not preparing for day one raid then the grinding is so incredibly boring, not a lot of new legendaries, season pass weapons are mid at best. Getting the new exotics from lost sectors is very rewarding but it feels like between the end of the campaign and reaching around 1230-1240 power is unrewarding and incredibly boring, the story was half good half trash, the Eris and exo stranger with the darkness storyline is amazing but eramis was such a forgettable villain, pretty much uldren but we don’t care about it. Her underlings is boring and had no personality, uldrens barons had so much individualism and were so unique and memorable while eramis’s underlings made me feel like I just wanted to beat them and move on so I can collect my no time to explain. Europa is visually stunning but there’s not much to do, all the public events we’ve done before and all there is to do is explore and while thats fine now the novelty of the awe and amaze of the landscape wears off pretty quickly. Beyond light is essentially - campaign, pretty short exotic quest, mindless uninteresting unrewarding grinding, endgame that consists of harder lost sectors for less than 10 new exotics - There’s too little content relative to the price as well as the hype, and while there was a decent amount of content added it wasn’t exciting or interesting to do it, campaign wasn’t exciting whenever it had anything to do with eramis at all, but credit to the story whenever eris and exo stranger interacted with darkness and gave lore, the exotic grenade launcher is cool but the quest was pretty short, after getting the GL the grinding was not rewarding whatsoever if ur not going for day one raid, bungie said sun setting would allow them to make new OP cool weapons but the small amount of weapons that were added isn’t even remotely cooler or stronger than the sunset stuff, adored is just beloved and a triple tap ikelos sniper mushed into a beloved skin, and there is just too large a gap in between the GL quest and getting to a power level high enough to do the lost sectors without any meaningful rewards in between. I think beyond light would have gotten a significantly better reception if the price tag was lowered. Had it been 20-25 dollars or maybe 30 (cuz season of the hunt is separate) this expansion would’ve been a banger. For the same price as forsaken there’s only like half the content and nowhere the same excitement.
I feel like that Legend/Master Lost Sectors are the only real way to get the new Exotics; I've had three Exotic engrams drop through normal play (not the season pass) and they've all been older pieces. Ophidia Spathe, Bombardiers, and Lucky Raspberry.
It's almost as if you payed for them to take out a big portion of the game and render even more content and items irrelevent. I do not like this, it needs to change now.
To be fair, with how jacked our damage output is (even underleveled) , I'd say immune phases are the only real way to make things hardish. Even if artificially
@@Matanlimer I'd rather enemies just have bigger health values, I'd much rather fight something that's tough and attacks me 24/7 than something with no health but disappears every single damn time I do a sword heavy attack
The immune phases have been a staple since forsaken. There's nothing inherently wrong about an immunity phase every 1/3rd hp done. It's a standard boss fight theme.
@@The_Number1Candyman at least the immune phase for the new strike is the boss actually going back into the portal, not just sitting in the middle of the room unable to be damaged
In terms of stasis itself. My impression is this: After obtaining my Salvations Grip and equipping Claws of Ahamkara. I can finally see it. The true form of Stasis is crowd control. Not high damage. Not even support. Crowd control. Salvations Grip is pretty much my warlock super in weapon form. If a bunch of enemies group together, i hit them with Salvation, and once theyre frozen I can use my melee to make all the ice explode and wipe them all out in one shot. Guys the level of crowd control this subclass has along with the exotic weapon is even greater than a walocks Storm Caller subclass combined with Lord of Thunder.
"I Think my eyeballs are going to tear away from my optic nerve from rolling my eyes everytime I get frozen...." -Datto. Dude.. you made me spit out my coffee on that one. Great line!
I haven't touched Destiny 2 in nearly a year, so when I hear sunsetting was happening I assumed it was just Year 1 and 2 stuff. The fact that Shadowkeep is now useless is horshit.
@@Xsn__simo I’m going to say this one more time: YOU HAVE LITERALLY PLAYED FOR A WEEK AND HAVE ONLY GOT ACCESS TO 9 NEW WEAPONS OUT OF THE 40 THE DLC HAS TO OFFER. Either quit or play the fucking game and complain if you didn’t like it once it’s over.
@@MesoMania it is insane to me that you people find the stuff acceptable. We waited so long for the season, people spent MONEY on this DLC. So why isn't the stuff available at launch. The reason is the end result is going to be disappointing too. Bungie is hoping that by giving you little bits and pieces oh shit you'll get the feeling like you have enough guns and new content. But it's not going to be the same. At best the system's going to be mediocre, you are waiting in a pile of trash for the mediocre to come.
dude I fucking love you. The fact you are balanced in your opinions and critical but also smart in your solutions has made my year. thankyou for using your platform in such a positive manner. I adore you.
I feel as though the fight scene with the Drifter, Eris and the Exo Stranger was a missed opportunity for a big fight where the three of them ask for help in the fight and you get introduced to stasis.
Seriously. Is so incredibly boring knocking out wave after wave of enemies with just a stern look. I'd love to see enemy squads randomly spawning at different difficulties with no fanfare. Just so some random encounters can grab your attention occasionally. Or perhaps an entire map just randomly has stronger enemies for 15 minutes - anything like that would be great.
@@MikeYt673 It wasn’t even good for PVP. Over 1s TTKs is entirely too slow for a game with movement abilities, & you had to basically hold hands with your fireteam to get kills which also sucked.
@@MikeYt673 it was more "balanced" but it wasnt good or fun. Double primaries and the lack of content was the whole reason why I quit d2 until shadowkeep.
It makes no sense. I didn’t really start grinding out moon weapons until mid year (like season of dawn) and I really don’t understand their thinking in not at least giving gear a years time. Shadowkeep/undying stuff should go away when next season hits, dawn the season after, worthy etc. not everyone can devour content in week 1.
My own thoughts about sunsetting: It was too extreme. Why sunset entire seasons of weapons, many of which are barely used anyway? Bungie should have just sunset the pinnacles/ritual weapons and called it a day, or looked at player usage data of weapons and sunset those above a certain percentage.
You should be able to use 2 or more sunsetted weapons to fuse them into new weapons at the weapon smith, then you still have a reason to farm the old guns in old activities, guns would become a form of materials in this regard. Then they can expand the vault a bit and we would have something fun in return for the terrible sunsetting of many weapons.
@Trevor Hecht And what power light level will you be happy with? 9000? If you had the exact same gun at 8000 but had to grind it again at 9000 what is the point?
A couple things to note: We still haven't received the overhauled XP/Bounty system AND transmog. Part of the slog that is Beyond Light right now is constantly to the same vendor for everything instead of having a variety of content to tackle. A lot of that time is loading and backtracking rather than preparing yourself and going out into the wild like used to with all the destinations. Hopefully once the new XP and bounty systems come out everything will feel a lot more fluid and concise. With how little content we have right now, restocking bounties and checking in is taking up like 25% of play time. I know transmog is hitting next season and that is pretty self explanatory. Hopefully Season of the Hunt will make us use all of the content we currently have.
For clarification, they definitely DID NOT say Transmog was next season. They are hoping to have it this expansion but there's been no specific timeline on when it will be ready.
It's hard to ignore that some portion of this optimism derives from datto being a creator that relies on d2 for an audience. Not that datto can't make other content, but nobody would argue that other content would reduce the reach.
While it could be one of the factors, keyword one of them, he could also just simply still not hate the game. Lots of people around who still actually enjoy playing the game even if they dont agree with everything.
@@pcrassen4975 I never insisted otherwise, it just seems like an obvious conflict of interest to not openly acknoweldge. D2 needs advocates, and datto makes a strong argument.
The raid weapons have new exclusive perks like in d1 so just wait for that, plus the season weapons aren’t even out, oh and there’s still more exotics to get, oh and exo trials is coming later. Please just stop complaining a week into an expansion dude.
@@MesoMania the loot pool is an absolute shadow of its former self. A handful of guns over a couple of game modes is not going to fix this. What Bungie promised with sunsetting versus what they actually delivered are worlds apart right now.
@@pawno. you have played the game for a week and hardly any of the new content has come out yet. You can’t even get all of the Europa weapons yet. Chill out.
@@MesoMania Why do you find it acceptable that the only acquirable adaptive energy HC in the game is the rare Allegro-34 from Forsaken? This is just an example of something that feels really disheartening to me. I don't feel I have the same options as I did even last season, which is embarrassing considering that was extended far too long and was meant to be filler
I’m a sucker for lore and I absolutely loved this campaign, it was incredibly heavy in lore and back story, also the challenges that are in this campaign is amazing I loved the challenge of under level boss fighting and there is definitely more coming I believe because there are still things to be desired for this campaign and story overall!
Meanwhile in the EDZ, Dreaming City, and Blind Well everything that drops is capped at 1060. Including rewards for new players when finishing quests are now sunset.
The sunsetting should have been in phases with new content gradually being added to replace retired ones. Players would not have complained but rather appreciated that move. There should have been better avenues to farm previous season mods, equipment and gear to gradually replace the inventory and prepare the players for the change. All they did was put an expiry date on stuff without sufficient transition.
When I was coming into beyond light I was expecting a "fresh start" feel considering I got burnt out and stopped playing around shadow keep. And I am very happy with beyond light as it gives me that fresh start feel. And with the coming expansions I hope it'll keep me interested this time around, and personally I'm optimistic.
I'm very happy you talked about the "busywork" in the campaigns, because that's one of my biggest issues with most of the DLCs and I really like how they handled it this time around. The missions actually felt important
Beyond Light being 40 dollars isnt the big ticket issue for me. My real issue is why Season of the Hunt isnt included in the BL purchase like Undying was to Shadowkeep.
@@sayarimamani3605 Bungie clearly thinks its exceptional considering the fact that every season, they put out 2 or 3 new sets of 20 dollar armor transmog, per class, and a dozen+ 8 to 10$ weapon transmogs
Yea this was what I was worried about from the beginning that stasis was the only thing that beyond light could show for itself. Though there is a decent amount of other content I feel it is all overshadowed by stasis.
Here’s a really hot take: if most weapons are going to be earned with RNG rolls, I want a smaller loot pool. So long as they have neat perks, and (another hot take) I think perks other than reload and damage perks are worthwhile, having a greater chance of getting any given weapon as a drop is a good thing.
Bungie *already* solved this problem *multiple* times. Black Armory. Menagerie. Season of Dawn Sundial and Obelisk bounties. Season of the Worthy bunker weapon bounties. We don't need a smaller loot pool if they just fucking keep using the system that has worked - let people choose the weapons they want to farm for.

Yeah! I got dialogue after completing the Asterion Abyss lost sector. It's really cool to see him react to the world in a similar way that we do
The dialogue in general this expansion is really great.

I think the actual content we got in this expansion was EXCELLENT, but man the lack of a real loot pool refresh definitely stings.

Shame.
Soooo bored of this game.
You’re telling me...
"triple enemies in a playlist" or you know. Give us isolated Strikes. where I can go in Solo with no MM.
There is a solo script for destiny 2, you have to do some fiddling but it’s great for bounties n shit
Should be a solo strike playlist like the lost sectors.
Weren't nightfall like that, like when there were 4 items on that screen
@@Sekironprime ye the old ones with the challenge cards
yh i agree that new challenge with the stasis kills in nightfall was a pain because everyone was fighting over the champions
I was thinking about solo strike playlists too after trying to get kills in strikes for my fragments. Like datto said, I too had to fight for kills.
The raid armor from dreaming city and moon is max 1410 power level(the gear people actually cared about)
Totally agree with that statement 👍

Beyond light was a great expansion, but less than mediocre for the price tag, being the same price as forsaken with so much less content, and the grinding being so much less exciting due to the lack of new weapons and the possibility of getting cool new exotics to drop or play on day one if you saved exotic engrams, doesn’t warrant the same the price tag to me. Beyond light is essentially
- campaign, pretty short exotic quest, mindless uninteresting unrewarding grinding, endgame that consists of harder lost sectors for less than 10 new exotics -
There’s too little content relative to the price as well as the hype, and while there was a decent amount of content added it wasn’t exciting or interesting to do it, campaign wasn’t exciting whenever it had anything to do with eramis at all, but credit to the story whenever eris and exo stranger interacted with darkness and gave lore, the exotic grenade launcher is cool but the quest was pretty short, after getting the GL the grinding was not rewarding whatsoever if ur not going for day one raid, bungie said sun setting would allow them to make new OP cool weapons but the small amount of weapons that were added isn’t even remotely cooler or stronger than the sunset stuff, adored is just beloved and a triple tap ikelos sniper mushed into a beloved skin, and there is just too large a gap in between the GL quest and getting to a power level high enough to do the lost sectors without any meaningful rewards in between.
Yea I wouldn't be as mad if I didn't pay as much
I feel like that Legend/Master Lost Sectors are the only real way to get the new Exotics; I've had three Exotic engrams drop through normal play (not the season pass) and they've all been older pieces.

@@The_Number1Candyman I'd rather not have bullet sponges. Cosmodrome strike's final boss is not fun

I'm so glad you guys still exist, I couldn't stand the Anna bae crowd
In terms of stasis itself. My impression is this:
After obtaining my Salvations Grip and equipping Claws of Ahamkara.

The sunsetting problem was as expected. So many people were predicting it would be shit and wouldn't you know, IT IS!!!
I haven't touched Destiny 2 in nearly a year, so when I hear sunsetting was happening I assumed it was just Year 1 and 2 stuff. The fact that Shadowkeep is now useless is horshit.
The dlc just came out stfu and wait for the season and raid to actually start or quit.
@@MesoMania what do you mean stfu? They took our favorite guns, the ones that we grind for weeks. In return what did we get? Shit.
I just want us to have more missions alongside characters. We had like 1 mission with Cayde and then never really got it again.

I loved getting my ass whooped by the game for once. I missed difficulty in the campaigns...

Sun-setting all the Moon gear was the dumbest thing Bungie has done since double primaries, change my mind.
Double primary was good for pvp
Shit in pve though
@@MikeYt673 It wasn’t even good for PVP. Over 1s TTKs is entirely too slow for a game with movement abilities, & you had to basically hold hands with your fireteam to get kills which also sucked.
@@MikeYt673 it was more "balanced" but it wasnt good or fun. Double primaries and the lack of content was the whole reason why I quit d2 until shadowkeep.
@@MikeYt673 double primaries killed pvp, what the hell are you smoking
I'm starting to think that I'd prefer a difficulty selector over power level.
Oh god please no
@Trevor Hecht
And what power light level will you be happy with? 9000?
If you had the exact same gun at 8000 but had to grind it again at 9000 what is the point?
@Trevor Hecht
But why? I dont see how making mechanics more important than a number next to a piece of gear would be worse
@Trevor Hecht
Games like ESO have done this perfectly and alllow us to use any gear and weapons we want.
Yeah heroic raids say it with me make the game hard make the game fun
datto is the needle drop of the d2 community and you can’t change my mind
A couple things to note:
We still haven't received the overhauled XP/Bounty system AND transmog.
Hopefully hopefully hopefully hopefully. It’s a problem when someone playing a game says hopefully over and over again for years lol
I love how much our guardian talks in this expansion. Especially in the final fight with Eramis.
There are leaks saying that a Blind Well style activity is coming to Europa after the raid drops so hopefully thats more content.
Love your videos, always such a fair and well rounded take.

Perfect, this is exactly how I feel. What we got was good but I wish it was more. But we will see what happens
They did what we expected. Sunseted weapons but offered nothing instead. I just feel so bored and limited with my arsenal right now.
Chill out.
@Trevor Hecht there are 40 total weapons to get which is more that Shadowkeep ever had, so just chill out and let the content roll out
@@MesoMania Why do you find it acceptable that the only acquirable adaptive energy HC in the game is the rare Allegro-34 from Forsaken? This is just an example of something that feels really disheartening to me. I don't feel I have the same options as I did even last season, which is embarrassing considering that was extended far too long and was meant to be filler
It was an exact cross between skolas’ story line and the forsaken story. Not that that’s inherently bad I did enjoy it.

Every expansion just makes me miss Taken King :(
I miss D1...
Meanwhile in the EDZ, Dreaming City, and Blind Well everything that drops is capped at 1060. Including rewards for new players when finishing quests are now sunset.
Jus stopping by to say how happy I am for u and yours. Be blessed brother
3:26 I really enjoyed the boss fights underleved. It felt like d1 difficulty and that was fun
Beyond Light being 40 dollars isnt the big ticket issue for me. My real issue is why Season of the Hunt isnt included in the BL purchase like Undying was to Shadowkeep.

@vineapplepizza lol talk about being toxic. Nobody likes a sycophant.
Datto you don’t understand how long I have been wishing for more enemies in this game, nothing is more satisfying than making 30 monsters explode at once and this game just doesn’t have it. I already loved your ideas and thoughts on destiny but that right there just made my day.
