    I’m such a fan of twin beds, it’s hard to find in campers. We bought an Oliver Legacy Elite II because of the twin beds. I thing Winnebago nailed it with this particular floor plan for a narrow body camper with twin beds.

      Just keep in mind I don’t really have a good idea for how long the air could run off that battery. Typically things like this see a couple hour run time before the batteries are completed. So it’s mostly something designed to get you through the worst hottest part of the day while recharging in this early morning and late afternoon

    Suggestion to Winnebago. The solar wires going into the roof are in one of the only spots to add another panel. Relocate that in front of the AC unit and also make certain the 2 panels are placed far enough apart to fit a 3rd panel in there.

    • @aguyandhiscomputer
      @aguyandhiscomputer 2 года назад +1

      While I agree, I don't think there's enough space or add a panel between them. Looks really tight.
      I'd like to see a way to mount a panel above the A/C.

    Thanks for the video as always Josh... a few things about the FLX (after owning a 2306 for a bit and talking with other FLXers) that might be helpful to your viewers and customers:
    Other Pros I didn't hear you mention:
    Better than typical sound (JBL system and speakers)
    The apps that you can download for Xantrax, GoPower, and Lithionics really help to customize and monitor the rig
    Other Cons to call out:
    No range hood
    Vent fans are the crappy computer fans rather than a maxxair or fantastic fan (made worse by the fan near the galley having to serve as the range hood too)
    Informational:
    With typical good sun, you can get up to about 4 hours running the AC (good enough to cool the rig down then open windows at night)
    One other difference from traditional, because of the Truma systems, there is no ducted AC (don't really need it in the size of rig and how effective the AC is, but it's interesting anyway)

    • @randyletourneau3430
      @randyletourneau3430 Год назад +1

    Sal the theater seat guy likes this one even though there is no theater seats. The layout is good, love the twin bed. Lack of hanging storage is a bummer but for a few days out this is a nice unit. Other plus is that inverter. Personally, I would want as much solar as I could have on an RV regardless of what it is. Rather have too much and not needed than to need it and not have it.

    This is the first twin bed rv I've seen and I love it. Since I sleep like a fish out of water, this gives me room and is not too disturbing for the other. One thing I would love in this would be; extra large window in the kitchen, a large one in the bedroom, long window over the toilet and 2 more opening windows in the sides of the slide out. Do appreciate the larger propane tanks, they simply look like they belong to an rv and not a bbq. These make us boon dockers do the happy dance up north here, not to forget those who like longer stays at campgrounds in cooler weather. The exterior is great with their Flex symbol and colors, I really like it. Overall, this is the best small rv for us and when ours is ready to be passed on I'll be looking for this one. Thanks for the tour as always!

Definitely put an accessory mount option for a table/grill station. I really like this and the shorter bed doesn't really bothered because I'm short. Thanks for sending me the link to this video.
    Probably watched tired and sleepy because I don't remember all the great details you mentioned.
    This is a great little coach
    I'm one of those parents who loves their child and want to create memories but hate when they sleep in my bed. My son's cold feet find my ribs 3-5 times at night or keeps rolling close to me until pushes me to the edge of the bed, doesn't matter if is a king size bed. So this twin bed convertible to a king is a great idea.
    Love the big sink with recessed cover for better prep/countertop area. The kitchen storage seems great for such small camper. Deep drawers for big pots or small kitchen appliances (blender, InstaPot, etc).
    I'm glad this big solar package with 3000W inverter and Lithionics battery.
    The Truma A/C with "dehumidifier" is also great addition. Complete it with the Truma AquaGo Comfort Plus water heater.
    I would love all manufacturers' use welded aluminum structural members and double Azdel. To the point is no longer special but the construction is prime in all of them.
    Two 30lbs propane tanks?
    The spare tire same quality as the main ones it is an additional detail. The wheels are nice looking too.
    The "bumper accessory hitch" is a cool idea.
    If the price were not so out of control, a Dometic 12V double hinge fridges will be good too.
    Same model 4ft longer for the two pantry/closets will be almost ideal.
    The few times I have checked the Winnebago website is only for the Ekko and the revel.
    Found the Flex 2306BHS. Please review it as soon as you get your hands on one.
    With the sofa sleeper option seems very attractive

    @oldengineer1519 2 года назад +2

    Good review.
    We owned a 2018 2106FBS and were satisfied with it. Basically it is the queen bed/couch version of this floor plan. I think the couch will give you more floor space as you only need the table out when you are eating. In fact we stopped using the table early on and went to TV tray tables as these did not take up space when only one person wanted to use a table.
    I don't like the change to the pantry door. Earlier versions had the door on the front which made the items more accessible. With the side opening it will be hard to see and reach things in the back. Other than that I think they've done a good job on interior storage, the drawers in particular.
    We did like the bathroom layout. I am of average height and found the shower roomy and tall enough not to worry about hitting my head. The sink could be a little tight but not to the point it wasn't workable. With only the one wardrobe it might be a little tight for two people but the FLX 2108DS or 2108FBS would have that if hanging space is a concern. I'm undecided on the pocket door vs the swing door we had in ours.
    As you say the interior fit and finish is better than most of the other brands out there.
    One other thing is Winnebago is supposed to be a premium trailer brand. With that in mind I don't understand why they haven't gone to roller shades over the pleated ones.
    I could not tell from your video as it wasn't in it but the holding tank vent by the ladder is a hard to find leak point. In ours and others from that time period the cap was partially on the channel used to fasten the roof to the back wall. They would Dicor the area but the sealant never fully filled the area under the channel lip and flange allowing water in and onto the ceiling over the wardrobe. Because it was such a small amount coming in at a time it took a couple of years to show up. We weren't the only owners to see this. The fix is to trim the cap to sit flush on the roof then seal the area where the meet. I told Winnebago about it at the time but don't know if they ever did anything about the problem.
    I haven't had a chance to see the Ember yet but I think the 201FBQ currently has the edge over the Winnebago in this space though not by much.

    the split king option is what makes this great, forget the tiny dual foam child's beds you have to have a real innerspring mattress. truma over dometic is another bonus. my 2108 has a vent over the bed and this doesn't which is odd, i live 6 months in the desert with this trailer off grid and a max vent over the bed is better than aircon and all that's needed. i installed 600w and 3000w inverter charger and never use a gas genny anymore.

    Finally!! Twin beds! Good floor plan, it has everything I would need. It would be great if they came up with accessories for the port towards the rear. It would be great to have a table to put a grill on, some hooks to hang tools off the side while cooking.
    Excellent. I hope this becomes really popular and we see more manufacturers offering similar.
    The pass through storage is amazing. Is it accessible from the inside? -as in, do the beds lift?
    I really see nothing negative offhand. I'll have to take a closer look at this one.

    Am I crazy? My wife and me have looked at this model before, but kind of didn't like the lack of hanging storage. Would be awesome if the slide could be....drum roll.....a big closet. Double sliding doors (like you have at home) with hanging and a bunch of storage. We try to eat outside as much as possible, and we could just get two TV trays and sit at the end of the bed to eat if it was raining outside. So we would rather have the storage than the dinette/sofa option. You kind of get your own personal sofa with the twin bed!
    If it had hanging storage, this model would appeal to more folks.

    Omitted from the presentation is the side solar connector. This charge controller is rated to accept up to 600 watts solar input meaning the customer can plug in up to 220 watts portable solar panel for boondocking or compensating for a shady camp site. This is a great floor plan and well executed.

    Depending on the price it isn’t that bad. The graphics package on the front I’m not a huge fan. I would also prefer the nice stairs that fold up rather then in. But great little machine fore someone that wants to go back country camping if it can handle more off road. I am single but I like to camp with friends so it’s great to have the twin beds for that option. Or to be able to take my nieces or nephews.

Were boon docking this model with an updated group 31 battery will be interesting to see how battery life lasts. Were in Canada and the uplift to the flex at almost $20k, hard to justify. The battery/solar system is what makes the FLX level worth paying extra for. I hope they offer the 1708FB in the FLX level. Just me and my dog so the 1708FB FLX would be perfect. Their focus on efficiency is something that is sorely needed in the RV space. I really like the minnie flx but I would personally prefer the murphy bed floor plan.
