      Dude, same here. It’s really hard to pretend you can’t do something when you can. It’s why it’s important to watch people who actually struggle so you know you’re not alone lol. But great Effie and I love these videos. Thanks for all the hard work!

    So supersetting pushups with hollow body pullups can be even more effective because the abs get even more time under tension

    When I was far younger I only did pushups trying to grow my chest. I ended up growing my abs and shoulders faster than my chest, and I didn't even notice until others commented on it. it was very strange to me at the time since I had no knowledge on this stuff, but after I learned more, I not only understood why, I understood how impactful it really was from person experience

    I noticed last year that my abs were fried after a stand up paddleboarding down a river. Didn't expect it considering most of the work was coming from the arms and legs. Full body engagement really highlights atrophied areas. Core muscles don't seem to tire like arms and legs, but damn can they hurt.

  • @balbibou
    @balbibou 2 месяца назад

    Hi Calimove, could you please make a video about how to "brace your core" like powerlifters do when they lift monster weights ?
    Could you also talk about the pros/cons of mobility/strengthening of the internal rotation for "classic" body parts like the hips or shoulders ? What we should know, avoid, etc.
    Thank you for your work and knowledge

  • @1way448
    @1way448 2 месяца назад +3

    I have never done arched back pull ups , looks strange lol
    But I practically mastered "hollow body" pull ups I always engage the core when doing them. This (plus pushups) explains why I have abs and never ever do sit ups or crunches lol
    I never understood it but didn't question it now it makes sense 😂

    Now that is clear you are the best or one of the best calisthenics channels ever without a doubt, maybe this aproach in science papers and scientific evidence is what you need to keep growing and growing. People like Jeremy Ethier or Jeff Nippard are really good in this aspect but they focus in the science of the gym most of the time. If you show the science behind the calisthenics sport it would be awesome for some of us. Thank you for all your hard work!!

  • @FrogmortonHotchkiss

    Doesn't the high lat activation throw doubt on the real-world relevance of the pushup study?
    When I do sets of deadlifts then go onto rows, it's obvious that my lats aren't fresh and that they've been fatigued somewhat by the deadlifts. I can't say the same when I go from sets of pushups to rows. It feels like there's almost no overlap in terms of muscles worked.
    During pushups, I sometimes feel like my triceps fail before my pecs... but I never feel like my lats fail first! Yet the study shows the lats as being far more activated than the triceps??

    0:08 This is not Clickbait. Let me tell you my full story.
    I was a WEAK AS HELL SKINNY BONY KID IN 8TH GRADE WHO CANT EVEN DO A SINGLE PUSH UP. I felt bad, I started working out. I did 30 Inclined Push ups every day for 3 months, then I started doing 10 on Ground. I was shocked when I looked at myself in the mirror, I already had visible 4-pack abs. I continued doing Push ups, after one more month i had clearly visible 6-pack abs.
    Its been over a year and a half, Push Ups are the exercise that are responsible for my current transformation, my Abs are harder than ever before. (I think my critically low fat levels also contributed to this)
