I'm adding this song to my funeral music compilation... When I was a teen I used to put this song on repeat when watching their DVD. Love their acoustic stuff.
In August 2002 my brother and I took off to Yellowstone for a week. We saw these guys filming the segment on this program, Music in High Places, where they are playing on the walk bridge. First time I had heard of these guys but my brother's kids were in awe of the story.
Fun fact... Unwritten Law was not the intended band to appear on this episode of “Music in High Places”. The producers of the show wanted Jimmy Eat World as they were also pretty popular at the time, but between the producers of the show, the record companies, the A&R guys, MTV, etc... a long series of fuck ups basically. So Unwritten Law showed up to Yellowstone... “wait you guys aren’t Jimmy Eat World? No? But you have a song thats on MTV? Ok... whatever.” And they all ended up accidentally making a great album.
i love this song but it makes me cry cause i was listening to this song in my car and literally 5 minutes later i got a call that my bestfriend died in a car crash :/ RIP Sally...
I have this album have had it since a little before it came out!Great band!Love their sound!I am from the east coast and this was always my on the way to the beach cd!!!
i dont think any of my friends have heard of unwritten law. i think they're more known on the west coast than they are on the east coast and i live on the east coast and i almost never hear anybody talk about unwritten law. these guys are awesome
i submitted this song for my 8th grade graduation ceremony to not only be the curtain call for our class but we would have to sing it infront of everybody. The Beatles won after my election. I totally just took it as a farewell and middle finger to my school and totally missed the lyrics ha. great band. shitty story.
You know that thing, where you become aware of a band, and you keep listening to them, trying to make yourself like them? And you just can't? Yeah, that.
