- With soft top season just around the corner it was time to pull out my soft top and give it some cleaning from the previous year's adventures. The inside was covered in dust from multiple trips to dusty landscapes and the outside was covered in grinding dust from my winter projects.
In this video I will show you my process of cleaning the inside and outside of my soft top along with how I restore the vinyl soft windows!

Thanks for watching!
I use meguiars plastic x (optical plastic polish) and then apply an armor all type product. Polish the protectant to remove all excess and the surface will be clear and protected. It also acts as a wax and fills in and conceals minor scratches.
Hey there Ryan, thanks for checking out my video! And yeah that sounds similar to what I’m doing, I think any process of cleaning, polishing and treating the soft windows is key to keep them lasting!
How do you store your soft top?
Hey there DerekGH, thanks for checking out my video! I have a smittybilt storage bag and I hang it on the straps from the H-Frame.
@@VictorVectorJKU the H-frame? I have a JK. What i meant was how do you store it over the winter?
My apologies, I did not look at the video you had commented on and thought it was my hard top hoist video. I am talking about the H-frame I made to lift my hard top. Check out this video to understand what I am talking about. DIY Custom Electric Hard Top Hoist System for Under $350

@@VictorVectorJKU ahhh. Yes I have built myself a system for taking the hard top off. So, how you just drape your soft top over that frame?
I have a longer cam latch strap that I use to hang it below the H-Frame while it is stored in the smittybilt soft top storage bag. The last two winters I just left it on the floor of my garage tho since I didn’t get to cleaning the soft top early enough in the fall.
