This is a ground breaking episode for Alex. Getting annoyed by Bridgette and vocalizing it, and calling out Ardal. He woke up and chose violence that day.
Chris Ramsey is one of my favorite contestants on this show. He's enthusiastic, unbothered by looking silly, laughs at himself, approaches each task trying to solve the puzzle and win but accepts losing well, he's got that chaotic Geordie energy driving him, and even when he's frustrated, it feels like he understands the brief of being on the show.
It always takes me a few episodes to warm up to the contestants I am unfamiliar with and I wasn't sure about him. Now he owns some of my favorite tm moments.
The women's stag minute makes me laugh so much. I especially love the idea of Alex having no idea what the birds and worm are about because birds are his dad's interest, not his.
Oh my bird, I couldn't breathe for a minute from laughing. Just the completely absurd fever-dreamish random hell that was thrown into Alex's face was probably in the top 5 of most Taskmaster things I've ever seen in 13 seasons.
I laughed so hard at that I couldn’t breathe 😂😂 between the “eat your fucking worm”, the random throwing of things in his face, the net and the twerking cat waxing his arm saying the most unenthusiastic Meow ever I almost died wheezing 😂😂😂
the idea that Alex likes birds somehow translating into them treating HIM like a bird somehow making sense to all three of them just... boggles my mind and makes me so happy
I thought it was the greatest opportunity for a "it remembers the _last person_ to have been on it" joke but apparently I was the only one who realized this.
I love the fact that he’s incredibly affable and also always ready to stab another contestant in the back. It’s the equal and opposite of chaos gremlin Rhod Gilbert who is constantly being betrayed by the people he just defended.
@@404usernotfound_ Series 7, my favourite series. 5 brillant contestants, and the single greatest moment in taskmaster history. I won't spoil it, but those in the know will know which one I mean when I say "stationery".
If you haven't seen the studio outtake from Chris' shoe task, do yourself a favor and go find it. It's a short called "Chris Ramsey gets so excited, he forgets he is watching himself" and it is delightful!
I'm searching thru comments to try & find what Alex's word was at the beginning. (Replayed it a bazillion times & still can't understand.) Upon reading your comment, I've immediately put the title into the search bar & will be watching directly after. Thank You :)
On the Taskmaster subreddit, people who were at this recording, said that Bridget had like a 15 minute presentation about foxes and why they are amazing. I really want to see this as an outtake.
There are the full series 13 outtakes here on the Taskmaster channel, but I don't know whether they included any of that, as I'm only watching them once the series 13 episodes are done uploading.
Believe it or not, he refused to watch the show before he was asked, because he really wanted to be on it and was annoyed that they didn't go across the street to his agent to invite him.
The thing I love about this season is the cast banter whenever they're together. This may be one of my favorite casts, and I honestly didn't think that would be the case before this season.
I just love how sometimes Bridget do the tasks on the worst way it can be done (asking for every single shoe) but then uses all of her brain to say "alex turn around" so it doesn't see the others shoes
Random fun fact about the "cut in half and search" thing, is that's how you find faults in electrical systems like fire alarm systems. If one of the dozens of sensors is malfunctioning, you isolate half of them and check: if the fault vanishes, you know it's further down the line than the isolated part, and if it doesn't you know it's closer up the line than the isolated part. You just keep segmenting and dividing the segments until you narrow it down to the malfunctioning part.
"All the information is on the task" took me out xD well done, Chris. This is the first series where I am unfamiliar with most of the cast, but I love all of them already.
That "make a speech out of the bunting" task is one of my favorites in the whole show. Didn't expect it at all and everyone's speeches were great for different reasons.
Taskmaster buoyed me through the pandemic. I keep thinking I can't love it more (constantly proven wrong), and then it goes and puts all the things I love about it in a cannon and shoots it out with confetti with this episode. Freaking brilliant. Carry on.
That shoe task is one of the best they've ever done, and each way everyone did it showed how genius this cast was. Their chemistry I think was up there with Season 7. Ardal demeaning everyone's prize task ("It doesn't remember me!"), especially comparing foxes to crack addicts after Bridget apparently talked about them for like 5 minutes straight...My favorite season.
I'm loving this cast, and honestly before the season I didn't expect to like them this much. I didn't know much about Judy Love coming into this season, but she's a treasure.
Chris Ramsey is my favorite Taskmaster contestant of all-time, just edging out Mike Wozniak and Johnny Vegas. I like almost every contestant but those three are beyond wholesome and delightful to watch.

After watching all 12 previous series - which were each excellent - I think the opening gift segment of this episode is the greatest! Incredibly hilarious.
At around the 15 minute mark i suddenly had a thought. What if they used commands instead of questions. "Tell me if the shoes had laces." instead of "do the shoes have laces?" But also, ask if it's on a certain side of the room then narrow it down to quadrants
Alex's confusion at his bird-themed stag do (which he does not understand is supposed to be bird-themed, and from his point of view must be utterly surreal) made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt, tears were forming in my eyes, and my roommate was staring at me in legitimate concern.
