How do the weapon loadouts look now? This feels like a full-sized van converted to a mini-RV that can double as a technical, and thinking about getting it. Combat isn't my focus, but don't want to be helpless.
"It's how a ship makes you feel." Wonderful statement! The ship is beautiful and probably the next one I'll buy. It just looks good, flies smooth, and really has that high class feeling to it. Another wonderful video :D
Personally, I recommend adding the coffee maker and the food processor, because once they become functional, the 300 series will have a toilet, food and drink, and a bed. Several small ships have one of these, but very few have all of these. It also has a mini-fridge, so even further down the line you SHOULD (idk this for sure) be able to stick perishable food in there and eat it later. Keep in mind that the Titan doesn't have a toilet, so while it does have some advantages over the 300i, this little bit skews in the 300i's favor. If you're just looking for a good starter ship, the Reliant Tana has a food station, toilet/shower combo, 16 missiles, more guns, 2 beds, FPS gun racks, and basically the only view other than the Mantis that's less obstructed than an Origin ship. It also features a ramp with an actual button on the inside! It only has 1SCU cargo but if I had to pick the best all-around ship under $100, I'd actually pick the Tana. Just use the 5k aUEC to get a mining tool and a rucksack and the entire game opens up to you with the Tana. A Cutlass would still be better, but I suspect for many people that's another $25 they don't want to spend until they give the game a try first. Of course, the Titan wouldn't be the "best starter ship" in most people's eyes if it wasn't $25 cheaper than the Tana, so I guess that cuts both ways.
I appreciate that! just how the RUclips algorithm works I guess. Our most popular content creators have been making content for at least half a decade I think. Ive only been doing it for a little over a year with some long breaks in between.
Star Citizen may be too specific (and controversial, unfortunately) a niche to ever make it big. I've heard a bunch of mainstream gaming youtubers complain about the massive shitshow they end up having to deal with any time they so much as mention the game. Channels can grow quickly of course. Witnessed someone go from about 15,000 subscribers to 200,000 in about 10 days once. But in general growth follows an exponential pattern that makes it very misleading. A 1 million subscriber channel is less of a jump from 100k than 100k is from 10k, because everything snowballs if you get that kind of success. You check stats on a fair few channels and you'll probably see it took them as long to get to 10,000 subscribers as it took to get from 10k to 250k, and then it took even less time to hit the 1-2 million mark. (above that you can start losing people if your channel doesn't have truly broad appeal, or if you behave in certain ways that puts some people off. Basically 2 million seems to be some kind of cap unless you have the skills to just be popular with EVERYONE...) (If you're wondering, I was knee deep in trying to figure out how this whole youtube thing worked about 6-7 years ago. Never did work out anything that made any real sense beyond 'it's random luck', but... Did learn a lot of weird stuff incidentally...)
Another flaw the wings bring is that the retrothrusters are on them, so you lose one wing, you get almost half your breaking capacity taken away. Lose both? You almost can't break without using you maneuver thrusters or make a 180° retroburn. The size is also a big weakness, when you talk about size new players usually assume that the draw back will be mainly parking space, but they're wrong. A bigger target is easier to hit and the 300 series are very easy to hit so you'll melt under fire from scatterguns or any weapons with a high rate of fire, you'll also have a bigger cross section for missile lock and to top it all off the shape makes the ship big from every angle so unlike the Sabre which is also a big boy, you don't have that side where the ship is basically as thin as a pancake and hard to hit. Don't get the wrong idea though, the Avenger has the same kind of issue with size. One advantage the 300 series has on the Avenger is also the maneuvering thrusters, on the avenger it's those multidirectionnal thrusters that turns and fire, while on the 300 series they have fixed thrusters, this means that the thrusters don't have to turn before they have the optimal thrust. The result is a more responsive steering and the ship doesn't feel "floaty" like the Avenger does when you dogfight. Anyway those are things I've noticed on during my playtime with these ships, I used to have an Avenger Titan and now I have a 325a (very similar to the 300i so what I said still applies) to note: cargo boxes as of 3.8 can't be stored in the cargo storage, they fall off, you need to take them with you inside the ship but you have the space for them under the table.
I've never particularly noticed that happening. The retro thrusters are placed right at the wing root, so you have to knock the almost completely off to take them out. Certainly never seems to bother me in flight when I've damaged a 300 series (and I fly them a lot) Then again I do have a habit of flying decoupled and using the main thrusters anyway. The retro thrusters on most ships have half the power of the main thrusters, so you take twice as long to slow down using the retros... Most ships don't change their handling characteristics that dramatically when damaged in my experience. Certainly a 350r with no wings isn't anywhere near as handicapped in terms of basic flight ability as you'd expect from looking at it. The only ship I've found to behave very badly when damaged is the Reliant. Lose a wing and you lose so much lift you'll fall in atmosphere unless you direct main engine thrust downwards. You also frequently almost completely lose the ability to turn in one direction, depending on which wing you lost... That makes flying a damaged 300i look like an utterly trivial matter...
@@KuraIthys yes you need to lose the entire wing to be affected, and while I highly recommend using you main engines as much as possible losing the retrothrusters can be extremely detrimental in a dogfight
Great video yet again, “it’s the way a ship makes you feel” couldn’t agree more! I own the 315p (CCU’d from a Avenger Titan no less) I CCU’d with the intention of going from the 315p to the Cutlass Black.. but I absolutely love the 315p, I don’t think I could possibly get rid of it now, or if I do I know I’ll end buying it again, the ship is everything a solo play needs right now as it stands in the verse, it’s fast, nimble, large QT range, cargo space, and that interior is stunning, it’s the BMW equivalent to the Titan Avengers workman like Ford
11:15 That’s cross section, it’s measured by the area of the shadow of the aircraft in each dimension (from the top/bottom, from the front/rear, and the sides). Having a big cross section is something real military aircraft avoid as much as they can for exactly the reason you’ve noted as a problem here. It plays into the oft-forgotten step of protecting yourself between not getting seen in the first place and surviving being shot if all else fails: not getting hit once the enemy knows where you are.
I have had a 325A so many times, I keep melting then returning, then melting, then returning... At the end of the day, it's not the best out there, but it's so nice to look at, to experience and to customize! I could customize forever, really looking for more customization in the Verse that only involves aUEC!
Tad late to make a difference however Port is Drivers Left side, Use the fact they both have 4 letters to remember. Starboard is to the Right and generally the side of the ship to the stars when Docked on Port Side at a Port.
Great vid: what you call the port side with the bed is actually the starboard side. My memory aid for it: the word with the most R's is the Right side (PoRt only 1 R).
The script was written before I added the B-roll footage it just happened to end when the couple was walking toward the camera. I love it when things come together while editing.
Subliminal! Your videos! Bro! Expertly done videos man. I actually had to rewind part of it to see if I heard what I thought I heard. Love your sense of humor bro. “Very large HDMI port”. 🤣🤣🙃🙃😂
Your reviews are the best off all I have ever watched! Your new stile is easy to read and compare to other ships. You not only review stock option but give upgrade advice, this is perfect since you also learn about components! Please keep this up, can't wait for the next review. Just a question, what about the "Atlas" QD? It is not that much slower but uses quite less fuel than the "Voyage" and is also faster in cooldown time. Also, could you do a ship weapon overview? There is quite a variety in the calculator and I don't know what weapon is good for what.
Thank you! Yeah the Atlas can certainly work. Right now the meta is changing due to some changes to shields so the meta isn't quite figured out yet. I will consider that once we get the new meta figured out.
I had the 325a and sold ot for the 300i G. This is the version with gimbals - its much easier for a beginner like me to hit things. Fixed weapons are not for beginners. Also I have mainly been doing deliveries and the 309i has a greater QT range than the 325a.
Can you play anything through the speaker? If not I think it would be cool if they played the audio from the ship commercials through it when you turn it on. "Welcome the brand new mustang where risk meets reward" etc etc. Or they could just have the Star Citizen Soundtrack.
SubliminaL thats a real shame. I think they missed a trick then. How awesome would it be if you could enter a URL for a youtube vid and get the audio from that as well lol. Could listen to these vids while flying
"Tweaked combat damage of S2 mass drivers to bring them more in line with similar sized weapons." this is from line 88 of the leaked Evocati patch notes on 4/2. Shields are also getting worked as well. Sooo yea...
I think I recorded footage when it came out back in like 3.6 but I never got to writing a review. Maybe I can use that old footage and make a new review quickly. I'll see about that.
@@SubliminaLstv Yeah saw your first thoughts when it first came out but curious how you think it stack up against the other fighter as well as your recommended builds. If you get the chance that would be sweet!
The 325 is my favorite ship but I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts thinking that 3 identical hardpoints same weapons same fire rate etc might have it's benifits. Though maybe I am overthinking it
You are, the 325a is superior because of all the other stats. Try finding weapons that have a similar fire rate. So Mass Drivers on the wings and a M5A or similar on the nose. It would be great if their was a size 3 version of the Mass Drivers though.
I agree with SubliminaL here. When I upgraded my Aurora I went to the 325. It’s so superior as a combat vessel. Don’t forget the significantly increased missile payload vs the 300i. The downsides vs the 300i seems only to be reduced capacity and shorter qt range. The range I dealt with by swapping out a more efficient, albeit slower qt drive. As for 4 vs 8 scu, both are so small for trading that it didn’t seem to make a big difference to me. Just my 2c.
I like the new format. It makes it easier to see how all the ships stand relative to each other. Wouldn't have expected the 325a to be such a missile boat, why don't more people talk about its internal magazine of size 3s?
You should! It is an alpha though so it will be buggy. It is the type of game you come back to when there are updates to see what new things they have added. It isn't the type of game you main unless you join a really active org. Oh and use my referral code lol.
The Titan is probably the best one. I just did a review of that ship. Also the cutlass black starter pack is $115 and is a good ship. But you should upgrade to that maybe once you get bored of the titan.
Don't melt the sabre for a 300i lol. And I like the 325a better for a combat ship. But not better than the sabre. The sabre is the king from what I've heard. cant wait to get my hands on one.
Than the sabre no. But that's based on what I know having flown neither of them. It is close enough to come down to preference though. Certainly worth a ship battle in the future. Those wings on the hornet add more surface area to hit. Real life fighter ships look the way they do for a reason.
@@SubliminaLstv No was going to get it as another ship for a run about and the aesthetic, would never drop my sabre she's a dream to fly and packs a punch
Honestly I'd get this ship/series as a personal transport and courier even if I had better specialized ships. It's just so darn pretty! That being said, it's a versatile little thing and while it may not be the best at anything it is solid in most things which is fine for a civilian minded pilot like me anyways. This and the 315P seem to speak to me the most, the i has a bit more teeth and the P has more utility potential but both look splendid!
@@SubliminaLstv Yep, although that might be my professional deformation from studying industrial design and art on a school that specialises in mechanical engineering... There are few things I could criticise on 300 series rework (even for a luxury ship, the interior space could have been better utilised, there could have been a passenger/co-pilot seat in the cockpit, more MFDs or MF holos, the space could have been a bit closer to a biz-jet/camper van hybrid than it currently is, etc...), but overall it is quite a realistic design for it's size, and its landing gear and are some of the reasons why... The Avenger rework on the other hand (and sorry, this all rant was trigerred by comparison between 300i and Avenger)... The lore sets the origin of Avenger series as a frontline carrier for UEE military, something which I would compare to real-life light cargo aircraft such as Douglas DC-3/C-47 Dakota, CASA C-295, Bell V-22 Osprey, Bell UH-1, Antonov An-72, Antonov An-32 or Let L410. But that lore comes into conflict with several design choices that CIG devs and artists made: - the undercarriage is too small for a ship as big as the Avenger is, the front landing gear is too tall, too thin, the wheels are tiny (and thus they could cause bogging down), the front landing gear is flimsy looking, and the whole setup doesn't look like it could take the weight of the ship on it's own. This kind of clashes with the idea of its origin as a military vessel that might be forced to safely land under adverse conditions, under fire, in damaged state and/or on less than ideal surfaces. Just compare Avenger's landing legs with something like Osprey or An-72... - due to lenght of the undercarriage and size of the cargo opening (more on that later), the ramp is far too steep for realistic loading and unloading. This might seem like a small issue when there are supposed to be anti-gravity lifts and tools to help the loading crew to effortlessly handle even large containers, but again, it is a military ship, and design flaw like this could be a matter of life and death. It would also severely limit any personel trying to board quickly... - placement of engine/main thruster above the ramp severely limits the size of cargo opening, and forces the rear entry to have a unnecessary low ceiling compared to the cargo area. Also, I wouldn't want to be the one entering the ship when its engine is running. In terms of ineffective design, it is very close to Freelancer's rear turret in the cargo area. What makes it even more outrageous though, is that there are two intakes placed quite afar from each other, which begs the question why (aside from aesthetics) there is just one main thruster. Especially if there are ships from Aegis like Vanguard that got it somewhat right (and that one is supposed to be a designed mainly as a long-range fighter/bomber, not a cargo/troop carrier!!!), and there is no reason why there couldn't be two smaller thrusters instead of one (like on Mustang or Gladius)... - the shape of dorsal surfaces is a mess. I can't fathom why those artists gave it such a curve. It doesn't make much sense aerodynamicaly, it limits the interior space far too much, it forces the front landing leg to be extremely long and beyoond the looks, there is no reason why it is even there... - the control surfaces on top are way too small and way too weirdly shaped, as are those curved wingtips... - the ship has a hunchback for no apparent reason, and this also limits space in the rear area of the ship... TL:DR - the Avenger series has far too many problems to be even plausible in-lore and requires another rework IMHO... (And sorry for hijacking your 300i thread, but this opinion just needed out...)
@@null643 That doesn't make it more believable, though... nor does it fix other flaws... And ground pressure is also a thing... (sorry, but the argument "but it is future" only works so far...)
Gladly, if I get in-lore explanation what is it's function, what are it's components, and what it would hypothetically need for it to work. Funnily enough, many of those things are ingame. The thing is though, the quantum drive, however physics-bending mcguffin it is, is largely consistent in it's design ingame. Those components are mostly the same, some of those differ in size between classes, but the construction appears to be based on a same template. Yet some of those ships aren't even if they are supposed to be. Of various designs ingame, the develeper team tries to be consistent lately, and they usually do a pretty good job in term of believability of those designs, which makes the things that aren't consistent much more jarring to look at for me (and yes, ther is a ton of additional stuff that could be criticised if someone went for full realism, far beyond what I said or want)... But if you are ok with that on a basis that it is just a game, it's your enjoyment...
@@marty2129 I don't recall the lore saying the Avenger is military. AFAIK the lore I remember is it was a ship primarily used by the Advocacy. aka. It's a police car, not a troop carrier. (also part of the reason why it's colour scheme is largely black & white - though that's also gives the impression of taking inspiration from the space shuttle, it's also a common set of colours for police cars) Doesn't really change much about your argument, but that makes it a rather different kind of ship to a military transport. To be most accurate with the analogy it would appear to be a spaceship analogy to a police van. (what was at times called a paddy wagon). Every variant is consistent with this background. One has holding cells in the back. The cargo variant is easily explained as taking the 'police' design and simply stripping out the cells, leaving the bare space, which can easily be adapted for cargo. (just as a police van with a large area in the back for keeping prisoners would be trivial to adapt to be used as a general cargo carrier). The EMP variant seems a bit strange on the surface, but when you're talking about a police force with armed ships that has to take on other armed ships, it makes sense they'd have a way to disable a target, since the police would still preferably capture a target alive... Police, NOT Military design. Other than that, I don't much to contribute about your design criticism. XD
I just bought this ship and fitted out per your spec. I didn't notice the comment about the Strife's until I gave them a go and found them a bit rubbish. What is your recommended gun and missile fitout for the 300i now in 3.10? The systems seem to be good. Great review otherwise, it encouraged me to buy this ship and I'm really liking it. I see you mention the GT-220 in your comments as an option, is that still what you prefer?
I know its by far not the best ship but idk i love they way the 300 series feels, its literally just fun to fly with, id rather pull my gladius out for combat and my freelancer for trading but this is definitely my daily driver around a planet sight seeing or figuring out my next trade route.
Not sure if you have PTU access but when 3.9 comes out the new esperia deadbolt 4s hit hard. If you out those on some gimballs I think it will be a monster.
I don't consider the ship's size on the con side. It's an RV with guns, not a fighter. (and yet it's a capable fighter) One of the biggest selling features on the 300 is the customization. But I can't give it near the love I have for the 325A. That size 4 on the nose... You make it a gimballed size 3 repeater and keep the wings as fixed size 3 cannons. Then you can use the nose to keep an opponents shields from charging* then line up some powerful cannon shots. I expect the Ranger motorbike to fit in the 300i. But I know we can't promise. *depending on the target's shields.
I really hope they do. The 315p is annoying as anything when it comes to vehicles. It's cargo area can fit 3 greycats! But due to lack of vertical clearance you can't put any vehicle whatsoever in the cargo area. The 600i has a similar issue with the touring variant. Since it lacks the vehicle bay and associated lift, there's more than enough space on board to store a dozen vehicles, but due to the only access point being the main passenger lift, you can't actually get anything onboard. (Technically I can glitch a greycat onto my 600i, and it even fits into the bridge escape pod recess so perfectly you'd almost think it was designed for it. But... Good luck getting it off the ship again.) I want to be able to take an x1 onboard both my 315p and 600i touring. But right now I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping the ranger fits, just so I can have ANY kind of ground vehicle with me... (for the 600i I'd also happily take a hybrid interior design for the forward module that has the vehicle bay on the lower floor and the cabins on the upper floor. But I don't see that happening.)
Oddly, my 300i does not have the cargo lift underneath. I realize that this video is a couple years old now. Have they done away with that ship feature since then? It's one of the main reasons I bought it.
My biggest concern is the fixed weapons. I'm so used to gimbals, I think the extra dps compared to a Titan would be lost because I miss so much. Anyone experienced in both ships have thoughts? Im torn between them...
If your not changing out the stock weapons and components you're not playing the game right. You can buy a size 3 gimbal to put on the nose that can equip a size three weapon. Then you'll have 2 size 2 and 1 size 3on the titan vs 3 size 2 on the 300i.
Oh i just realised, it’s so dumb that you can’t customise your ship again once you have done it initially. E.g If I add a coffee machine and then checkout, i am unable to go back in a couple of days and get, idk, a food processor. Idk why CIG are so dumb. No idea why they’d do that but it’s something to keep in mind!
This customization was the first time it was added to SC and was a test pilot. I think it is on a development hold because with the new building blocks UI they can probably do it in game soon and don't want to waste development time fixing the 300 series or adding that option to past or new ships. I do know that it is not the intention to have you melt the ship. Eventually it will be done in game.
@@SubliminaLstv oh okay thats reassuring. Although it does still seem weird. Why don't they just let you re customise it in an intuitive way so they can make more MONEY. Seems like a dumb one from them
Its highly requested. I just don't know much about the EMP game-play. Ill need to do some research. I may review it shortly after the warlock and I think the warlock is coming soon.
@SubliminaL I bought a Connie for fun with larger crews, I also (few weeks later got a 100i and wanted to upgrade it to either the 300i or the Kore. I know some of these videos are not up to date anymore. I'd like something to beable to carry least 2 people, do small cargo/multi roles. What would you recommend? Thank brother love the videos. I just got into the game about 2-3 weeks ago. o7
Nice video how ever , you mention that the bed is on the Port side. This is incorrect it is on the Starboard side . Port and Starboard are always in relation to the left and right of the ship when facing the Bow or Nose of the ship.
The 300 series are far and away the coolest looking of the starter ships, unfortunately I've never had great luck with them, compared to the other starters they don't seem to excel at much of anything. I think a lot of the issue is, being one of the first ships announced and introduced in game, and due to power creep over the years, they have since been overshadowed by newer ships in the same category. Although, I've had friends tell me that they can be made pretty competitive once you upgrade all the stock components. The next time I have some free time (and credits) I might give that a shot.
Did you change the shild loadout too two FR-66, which show up under the erkul.games link, as opposed to the ones you explained in the video Palisade and Mirage?
I've always been tempted to get a 300 series ship. They're vey nice looking. Ended going with a Titan instead since the weapon hardpoints make it better in combat. Can also carry a greycat in the back so that's a nice bonus. One note about the 300i is that contrary to what you may think, the port side does NOT have a bed to log out in. That's the Titan. The 300 does however have a bed on the starboard side. (which is almost as good) lol Also, your google sheet lists the Kore as having a crew of 3 while in reality it's only 2. While I really like your videos, one thing I'm not really clear on is why you always seem to recommend a bigger powerplant. Your Erkul.games loadout seems to show that powerplant only using about 45% of it's output. What's gained from all that unused capacity? Does it run cooler or put out less noise? (I'm used to fitting ships in Elite where more output has costs and you often run at or over the power limit and use priority management to keep systems running)
ROFL port and starboard is not natural to me it was to my left so i said port sorry. As for the Kore it I get that info from hardpoint.io because I like his formula for Max Crew. I will let him know about that mistake. Oh and I had been buying the most power however i changed to the JS-300 because of the power up time for EMPs. It has the lowest power up time of the grade 1 power plants.
Yeah, feel is important. Obviously this isn't a reasonable comparison due to it being in a rather different price league, but the feel of it is why I fly my 600i touring so much even though for most jobs you can do (especially in the current meta) it's poorly suited. Oh sure, it's tough as nails due to the component sizes, but it doesn't do anything at all particularly well right now. And yet I still find any excuse at all to fly it in preference to anything else. Even when for instance, doing delivery missions in such a ship is completely ludicrous...
Hey Subliminal, I was wondering if you could make a comparison between the 300 series variants. I'm thinking about upgrading my Mustang Alpha but I'm torn between some 300s...
Okay something I'm a little confused about maybe you could answer it good sir. You always suggest a Loadout with a high capacity shield and high regeneration Shield to get the best of both worlds. Does the Regeneration of the best Shield make both Shields regenerate at that speed, or will it only regenerate the half of the Shield HP it belongs to, which is what I've always assumed?
This is hard to say without confusion. If you use 2 Palisades you will have really good shield capacity (15,840) but have 342 max regen and 0 continuous regen. However if you use 1 Palisade and 1 Mirage you will have less capacity (10980) but have 513 max regen and 342 Continuous Regen. And things like power up time will just keep the best number so the 18s of the Palisade is negated by the 3s of the Mirage. I hope this helps.
Avenger Titan remains the best starter ship. Half-step up from the Aurora or Mustang I realize, but it lets you do a decent bit of everything while having one of the best cockpit views of any single-seat ship. And it looks like the bastard child of the Columbia and an emperor penguin.
Agreed however I have to draw the line using the term starter ship somewhere and variants of base models arent starters in my opinion. But It could be somthing a new player could upgrade to soon after purchasing a 300i. I think the tractor cannon could add unnecessary confusion.
First of all I want to thank you for the awesome video, Im a very technical person when it comes to doing research on SC ships and you included all the information this ship has, as well as good recomendations. I just had a small question on the shields. You mention how a combination of these two, a mirage and basilisk gives the most hp with regen but wouldnt the delay damaged time be a mean between the two? I read somewhere that having a shield which takes lets say 8 seconds and another one which takes 4 seconds would make a total of 6 seconds delay time. If thats not the case, how do they exactly work? Would the mirage kick in instantly after being damaged while the palisade takes 8 seconds to kick in? Or does it kinda brake the mechanic by making both shields have 0 regen delay time? In my case, I owe a 300i with too with 2 guardians, I like them for the fact that theyre top 2 in hp capacity, as well as having a low damaged delay time and absorb more ballistic damage (70% average compared to 50% for the rest) compared to other shields. Just wanted to make sure wether what you said was correct or wether I might be wrong. Still, awesome video nevertheless!
No you would think it would be an average but it takes the value of the shorter time. This isnt the case for all values. If you look at regen/s those values get added together. From what I understand the values that are time based like power up time, downed regen delay, etc. It takes the lowest value.
@@SubliminaLstv That makes sense, thank you for clearing it out. Now Im wondering wether to exchange one of the guardians for a mirage. I still wonder how would the damage reduction work if both shields have different values.
@@SubliminaLstv I know hp and regen adds up, was wondering about the actual damage reduction percentage. Being a percentage it cant possibly add up so if it aint a mean then idk what it would be.
So you must be talking about the harden factor metric used on erkul.games? Honestly I don't know much about how that works. I thought that had somthing to do with the power triangle. Like when you send more power to the shields how much more it protects it. Sorry I cant help with that one. Let me know if you find out.
The 300i with the 300i G weapon upgrade vs the 325A with the 325a XC weapon upgrade which do you think is worth the price tag in actual USD i can't decide which to get
Amazing guide as always. Btw, I am looking to buy a new fighter ship (1/2 people flying it), and I already have the sabre. Any recommendations? Money doesn't matter. ( Not like I'm buying a 890j)
Well you have the best dog fighting ship so logically the freelancer MIS would be a good addition. You can spam missiles and do some pretty good damage.
@@SubliminaLstv Ah ok, thanks! Well if the sabre already is the best, then I might look into other ships for other roles. Maybe the buccaneer for the carrack, or the Argo mole.
I love the look of the ship but I can't get over the anemic weapons hardpoints and that double wing (everything about that says she could be uncomfortable and noisy in atmosphere at best, self-destructive at worst). I think they missed a few tricks inside too: that bed should slide out and stay out when you lie on it so you can stare out in to space as you nod off; the monitor should be bigger and slide out too, so you can either watch videos from the bed or the pilot's seat; and the fridge should be near the head of the bed so you can reach for a cold one while lying down; and if the head of the bed could be raised so you could drink and watch a video in comfort, that would be swell!
It isn't noisy at all its actually pretty quiet due to it being a luxury ship. Similar to IRL luxury cars. And if you equip the soon to be nerfed Mass Drivers it isn't something to turn your back on.
@@SubliminaLstv I know it isn't noisy in-game :) but I used to be involved in fluid mechanics so my mind's eye sees how easily turbulent flow could be induced between those two upper wings in-atmosphere, and with one of them only being fixed at one end I can imagine it flexing enough to err 'repeatedly interact' with the surface below it. The real fun would start when those upper wings got out of phase! I tell myself they solved the problem with futuristic materials or a computer deforming the wing surfaces to counteract those forces but I never convince myself... . And I'm not saying a player in a stock 300i couldn't beat me 10 out of 10 in my stock Titan, just that there's wasted potential in what is a larger ship. I know all the numbers are in flux so I keep a very open mind about side-grading (once they have moved the fridge and installed the slidey bed and monitor).
Is that HDMI port 2.2 compatible though? I couldn’t find the specs for that in my 325a’s manual... Need the hard stats on that spaceship stuff, ya know...
I'm assuming when you say gamble you are talking about gimbal. This ship comes with 3 fixed weapons. You need to replace them with 3 Veri-puck S3 Gimbals and add size 2 weapons onto those. Then tap r while flying to activate gimball assist. Use Erkul.games to tweak the loadout and add them to cart. Then open the cart to see where to find the items. Hope this helps.
Titan... I just found out the mass drivers are getting nerfed in 3.9 earlier than what they said before. Unless the looks are that important. Also the reliant series is getting a buff in 3.9 could and some contenders into the mix!
@@SubliminaLstv hmmm imma go take a look at the reliant series. Yeah the look is a bit important since we spend a lot of time inside... kinda like a car ... well for me at least !!

I come for these reviews even if I'm not interested in the ship. Your content is just incredibly well put together.

"It's how a ship makes you feel." Wonderful statement! The ship is beautiful and probably the next one I'll buy. It just looks good, flies smooth, and really has that high class feeling to it. Another wonderful video :D
Thank you!
Agreed!
Don't forget about the speed of the 300. If you can't win a fight you just can outrun most enemys.
You mention the toilet. I know we will have to eat, but are we going to have to actually go to the restroom? LOL
thank you i now have the coffee maker and other goodies
@@pocketheart1450 Yes, both toilets and showers wil serve a purpose in game, once hygiene is added to the other "gauges".
Your last sentence is the reason why I use the MSR for EVERYTHING.
How come u r not one of the popular youtuber yet? I just feel like u deserve more subscribers. Good work man! Thank you for your video.
Basically 2 million seems to be some kind of cap unless you have the skills to just be popular with EVERYONE...)
(If you're wondering, I was knee deep in trying to figure out how this whole youtube thing worked about 6-7 years ago. Never did work out anything that made any real sense beyond 'it's random luck', but... Did learn a lot of weird stuff incidentally...)
Your videos are fantastic. I totally appreciate the data-centered comparison between competitor ships.
Thank you!
Anyway those are things I've noticed on during my playtime with these ships, I used to have an Avenger Titan and now I have a 325a (very similar to the 300i so what I said still applies)
to note: cargo boxes as of 3.8 can't be stored in the cargo storage, they fall off, you need to take them with you inside the ship but you have the space for them under the table.
Agreed with all of that. And when I said size I did mean more places for bullets to land. I'll make sure to clarify better in the future.
Thank you I have only done 3 runs with cargo and only 1 fell through.
I do like the ship and when I get it fitted out then I will test it in combat.
I've never particularly noticed that happening.
The retro thrusters are placed right at the wing root, so you have to knock the almost completely off to take them out. Certainly never seems to bother me in flight when I've damaged a 300 series (and I fly them a lot)
Then again I do have a habit of flying decoupled and using the main thrusters anyway.
I own the 315p (CCU’d from a Avenger Titan no less)
I CCU’d with the intention of going from the 315p to the Cutlass Black.. but I absolutely love the 315p, I don’t think I could possibly get rid of it now, or if I do I know I’ll end buying it again, the ship is everything a solo play needs right now as it stands in the verse, it’s fast, nimble, large QT range, cargo space, and that interior is stunning, it’s the BMW equivalent to the Titan Avengers workman like Ford
Agreed.
recently got my first ship, the 315p. Loving every second of it!
Good Ship!
Great Video as usual!

Oh no its not functional at all right now.

Sooo yea...
FUCK! Thanks for that info.
Would love your review on the Banu Defender and how you think it stacks up.
Just my 2c.
Agreed
I like the new format. It makes it easier to see how all the ships stand relative to each other. Wouldn't have expected the 325a to be such a missile boat, why don't more people talk about its internal magazine of size 3s?
Thank you!
Great video, very informative. I want to start this game
which STARTER PACK under $100 is good ?

I think i need to pick up a 300 series again loved my 325a but upgraded to a sabre, maybe one day i'll return to luxury
Don't melt the sabre for a 300i lol. And I like the 325a better for a combat ship. But not better than the sabre. The sabre is the king from what I've heard. cant wait to get my hands on one.
@@SubliminaLstv Dont you think the superhornet is superior?
Than the sabre no. But that's based on what I know having flown neither of them. It is close enough to come down to preference though. Certainly worth a ship battle in the future. Those wings on the hornet add more surface area to hit. Real life fighter ships look the way they do for a reason.
@@SubliminaLstv No was going to get it as another ship for a run about and the aesthetic, would never drop my sabre she's a dream to fly and packs a punch
I really love the 300 series but I would REALLY love a version that had a passenger / jump seat. It's way too big not to be able to carry a friend.
Microtech was a good choice of backdrop, thx sub.
I thought so too. Literally spent a day to get those shots. Waiting for the sun to rise and right when it was about to I had to go do family stuff...
I just like the way it *feels*
I'm already sold on it... but it would be great to get one of these for the Banu Defender from you. :)
Those wings are real fragile. Once they are gone game over. Dont think it can contend with the gladius, 325a, or sabre.
This is one pretty ship. I will get one if it is part of a starter package.
Its not part of a starter pack but you can upgrade your aurora, mustang, or avenger titan to one.
@@SubliminaLstv Thanks. I will do that.
Also, a cosmetic detail, it's undercarriage looks like it could actually support weight of the ship (unlike any Avenger variant).
Interesting
But that lore comes into conflict with several design choices that CIG devs and artists made:
- the undercarriage is too small for a ship as big as the Avenger is, the front landing gear is too tall, too thin, the wheels are tiny (and thus they could cause bogging down), the front landing gear is flimsy looking, and the whole setup doesn't look like it could take the weight of the ship on it's own.
(also part of the reason why it's colour scheme is largely black & white - though that's also gives the impression of taking inspiration from the space shuttle, it's also a common set of colours for police cars)
Doesn't really change much about your argument, but that makes it a rather different kind of ship to a military transport.
Agreed!
can you redo your video about the 325 in this way as well? Would love to learn more about the best loadout for the 325
Sure I think I will actually
Nice video as always brah. The 300i is a beautiful ship. As a fellow Origin fan, could you suggest me some main guns for my 600i?
Not sure if you have PTU access but when 3.9 comes out the new esperia deadbolt 4s hit hard. If you out those on some gimballs I think it will be a monster.
I don't consider the ship's size on the con side. It's an RV with guns, not a fighter. (and yet it's a capable fighter)
One of the biggest selling features on the 300 is the customization.
But... Good luck getting it off the ship again.)
I want to be able to take an x1 onboard both my 315p and 600i touring.
It's a pity you can't customise these ships if buying them as an upgrade.
3:28 Cracked me up XD
Odd... the pledge store is listing the cargo capacity of the 300i, the 315p as well as the 325a all as 2. So, those must be typos.
The rsi website the worst place to get into on ships unfortunately.
@@SubliminaLstv Strange that the site where you actually "buy" the ships is not accurate :P
Seems like a dumb one from them
You obviously know your stuff really well. What makes these particular upgrades good?
That question requires a long answer. Im starting work on a components guide stay tuned!
Great video! Do you think you could do the Anvil hawk?
Yes the Mirages got nerfed. And it changed the shield meta quite a bit.
I had to listen twice, did he say, “HDMI port?” Yes, yes he did! 😂
😀
I've always been tempted to get a 300 series ship. They're vey nice looking. Ended going with a Titan instead since the weapon hardpoints make it better in combat. Can also carry a greycat in the back so that's a nice bonus.
One note about the 300i is that contrary to what you may think, the port side does NOT have a bed to log out in. That's the Titan. The 300 does however have a bed on the starboard side. (which is almost as good) lol
Also, your google sheet lists the Kore as having a crew of 3 while in reality it's only 2.
The addons that you purchased for the coffee maker, picture frame, etc, are we able to get those in game without having to pay actual money for them?
Hey Subliminal, I was wondering if you could make a comparison between the 300 series variants. I'm thinking about upgrading my Mustang Alpha but I'm torn between some 300s...
I might be able to do something like that.
Thank you :)
Avenger Titan remains the best starter ship. Half-step up from the Aurora or Mustang I realize, but it lets you do a decent bit of everything while having one of the best cockpit views of any single-seat ship. And it looks like the bastard child of the Columbia and an emperor penguin.
Lol
A small nitpick...When discussing the shields you say "best regen for one cooler."
I've noticed this in a couple of your recent videos.
I'm sorry, I didn't fix the script after the last time. I fixed it now so subsequent videos will not have the issue. Sorry.
Any chance you can do a vid for the 325a?
Only because you asked.
Another threat video man. Does the 315 really have 12 scu? If so , I think IT could be the best starter ship.
Agreed however I have to draw the line using the term starter ship somewhere and variants of base models arent starters in my opinion. But It could be somthing a new player could upgrade to soon after purchasing a 300i. I think the tractor cannon could add unnecessary confusion.
Did they change the cargo in 3.9? it says the whole series have 2 SCU cargo exept the 350R on the webpage
Its pools together. So if one had a generator with 1,000hp and one with 1,500hp you would have a total of 2,500.
The 300i with the 300i G weapon upgrade vs the 325A with the 325a XC weapon upgrade which do you think is worth the price tag in actual USD i can't decide which to get
DO NOT BUY ANY UPGRADE PACKAGES!!!. They are a waste of USD. You can buy better components in game within just a hours of playing.
@@SubliminaLstv i realized that as well thanks for the reply!
All great ships. But the Argo is only worth it if you have at least three crew members. If your solo or duo just get prospectors.
@@SubliminaLstv Ah of course, I didn't think about that. I'll just have to think a bit before I use my next paycheck xD
Can you please provide a link for the hdmi cable.
Can you pls do a updated version
You know too much lol.
can u load a greycat buggy on cargo area? can u put boxes? or is it still non functional ?
Grey Cat No, Boxes Yes.
Is that HDMI port 2.2 compatible though? I couldn’t find the specs for that in my 325a’s manual...
Need the hard stats on that spaceship stuff, ya know...
This is 2950 it's a usb 9.0 no cable needed just works OTA
were can we get the add ons in game for this ship
Head over to Erkul.Games and build you loadout and add it to cart and it will tell you where to find them.
Ok I laughed at the large HDMI port at th eback of the ship :Ddddd
Have they patched the cargo box bug for this ship yet?
Where is the place at the beginning of the video?
MicroTech cant I think I went straight down from OM-4
@@SubliminaLstv thx
If you buy this ship (or any other ship) with a copy of the game on kickstarter, do you get one copy of the ship after every wipe?
If you buy the ship with real money you will not loose it if they wipe.
@@SubliminaLstv Thanks for the answer. Do you get access to the current alpha when you buy a pack on kickstarter?
I dont think you can buy a pack on Kickstarter. Buy it from the official website at robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?referral=STAR-2PFG-H2JY
@@SubliminaLstv Ok. What does the 3/120 Months insurance mean when you buy the game? Thanks for all of your answers :)
that lift under the ship is buggy as hell, good luck using it. I just use the titan now.
I have owned this for years of on and off play and had no idea the lift was there. Lol
I can’t get the gamble stuff to work on this ship. No matter what I do.
@@SubliminaLstv And here I was under the impression the gimble was included in the weapon. The More You Know.
I still can't decide wich one i should go for, titan or 300i .... :/
325a or Gladius or Sabre?
SABRE! Hands down!
Can it carry a small vehicle like a bike?
Nope
