With the upcoming 600i rework, I hope they change the exploration version to be able to carry a 300i by replacing the bar area which seems useless on an exploration vessel
Unlikely... the rework is only an interior redesign and the 300i would just take up too much space. 'If' the 600 could carry a ship, it would be the 100i, but I really don't see it happening.
@@sam.maestro I think the 100 Series ships are brilliant little things, only beaten (marginally by the Pisces). Havnig a tiny ship that is easy and fast to zip around in that also spawn on ground vehicle pads is extremely useful.
I like the 300i as a concept, and feel the same about the 100i, but I haven’t gotten around to trying either of them because they’re outshone by their variants. I outgrew my 315p starter and upgraded to a 400i, but outgrew that too and upgraded to a 600i. What I’d really like to see is a hypothetical 415p - that’d probably be the sweet spot between size, handling, speed, luxury, and versatility.
They’re all such great ships, but I find I outgrow the smaller ones myself as well. And I love the idea of 400 variants, I really hope they introduce a 415 and 425 into the lineup 🙌
What do you need a 600i for? I don't see the appeal. Sure it's beautiful but it's the size of a small building. You should always need a crew to operate it. Lots of people flying around alone in giant ships like that is one of the most unrealistic aspects of this game for me
@@reezlaw I don’t think anyone needs a 600i, or at least, it was a frivolous choice for me, but sometimes you just want a more roomy interior and a more challenging ship to fly, so you end up with a bigger ship
425a, replace the bike bay with a dedicated spinal mount S5/6 laser or something and instead of climate controlled storage rooms replace it with holding cells.
I used aUEC to get this and began to use it more than my 100i after I watched someone clip into my 100i from the ground. Turns out that locking your doors isn't good enough to keep the crazies out who want to pop you back of the head while you're flying. However, just like how the Corsair noses down during flight, the 300i likes to turn over. That was a bit annoying.
Congrats on the in game pickup! And thankfully you can keep them at bay in the 300 series’ elevated entrance and self-closing entrance way! But hopefully they fix that roll bug and the Corsair pitch!
@@ViciDeum I'm certain that the control surfaces & flight change will address it for both ships, no sweat there. The raised nature of the ship seemed to do the trick too. The 300i is a fun ship to fly around in as it is, I look forward to seeing the flight changes, whenever those go in.
The 350r is such an awesome ship with incredible acceleration! I only wish it had the same kitchen and interior as the rest of the line, but I understand that doesn’t fit as closely with its intended role.
Nice to see a review for this ship in 2022. To me the line has aged poorly tho as most of its potential has gone wasted. If I had the ability to redesign it, I'd set it with a twin, side by side, seats in the cockpit, a much smaller food dispenser, freelancer style, in the back, and a twin couch configuration. As a 2 person ship the 300 serie would complement the 100 serie much better, give more it flexibility (WC and a food dispenser) with a larger cargo bay. The only ship making sense at the moment is the 325a sue to its big S4 gun on the nose and the missiles. Other things I would fix are the attitude to be blown away by the slightest gust of wind and the very bad cargo bay that collides with literally everything you try to put in. Imagine if this ship could carry a buggy or a small motorcycle! Imagine if the cargo bay could carry a gurney that would be lifted inside the cabin as a T3 medical bed!!! As the 300i is now, just buy a 100i, may be a 125a, which I did: I sold my 315p (my first ship in the verse), bought 125a and never looked back.
The 300 series would be really interesting as a 2 seater, and I like the design ideas you went over! Although I do tend to like the direction they went with the refresh, it could still go for another update down the line. But they absolutely need to change the ships from blowing away in the slightest breeze, even if turning your engines off is the recommended route 😂👍
The 300i is a neat ship. But to make everything hostile on the HUD because the HUD color is red, I dont know what CIG did smoke. Since you can not change the HUD color there are only two options: Dont buy, or melt it.
The 300 series needs rebalancing just from a logic standpoint. Why does the 315p have more range and cargo space on the same chassis as the 300i? Why can the 325a be faster than the 315p and 300i while carrying more mass by default on only one engine and same interior? Why does the fighter variant have a kitchen and bathroom? Why does the 350r and 325a have any extra frills? If I could rework the 300 series, I'd make the 325a and 350r the same chassis and I'd sacrifice the bed in the 325a if the missiles wouldn't fit and add one size one shield if CIG would let me. I'd pull the bathroom out of both the 325a and 350r and replace that with a gun rack and suit locker. I'd carry the gun rack and suit locker over to the 300i and 315p, and move the toilet to the rear of both models making it a step down "shoilet" if at all possible and put the wine glass rack under the sink and next to the fridge. The cargo bays of the 300i and 315p needs to be switched, it makes no sense for the pathfinder to have more fuel capacity and more cargo with the same chassis as the base model.
You make some really compelling points with the 300 series, although I’m not sure if we’ll see those changes, given their focus on other ships, even if they are better balances. But we’ll just have to see!
i disagree with 2 points.. naturally unless you have a caterpillar or larger is the only ships worth cargo hauling(otherwise its way more profitable over time to just kill stuff)..and its one downside really is its S1 quantum drive otherwise it would be a great daily driver, its decent for fighting, looks sexy , many citizens do use it as a daily its usually the ones i see collecting boxes and such, never really see them in a fight or the hands of a criminal.. when kitchens /or coffee makers actually become a thing it will have an edge over everything its size when it comes to surviving, in the far future 300i pilots will be able to stay out in space longer fueled by caffeine
You make good counterpoints and I agree that the larger ships definitely leverage cargo hauls much more profitably. Although for a new player interested in the trade, the 8 SCU can be enough to learn the basics and see if that career path holds enough interest for them to invest in something larger!
Like for like, the Titan is much better than the 300 Series, imo. They are even matched in al areas except for the practical accessibility, where the Titan has a real cargo bay that connects to a seperate living area, meaning there is no compression of atmosphere for anyone inside. This also includes the fact that the Titan can be entered and exited via the cockpit, giving it a second point of access. With the 300 Series, the entirety of the interior would decompressed everytime its only point of entry is opened.
@@sam.maestro Well, the 315p is an explorer and should turn out to be a fantsatic little ship... but it depends what you need and want, sure the tractor beam will be very useful but it does forsake it nose gun to have that tool. I'm just talking about the base models of both ships.
The Titan definitely outperforms in terms of its dual-entrance convenience and weapons platform, but the 300i has the looks and a bathroom/kitchen setup which will offer more utility as those features are further implemented. Personally, I love the Titan but can’t stop myself from being drawn to the 300 series for its aesthetics and comfortable, useful interior!
I could be completely wrong here but isn't there technology built into many ships in the SC universe which can hold an airtight seal while allowing things to pass through it? Taken from the Tevarin ships originally (you can see a more visible version of the technology on the Prowler, the red glow on the drop doors is the airtight tech). I'd assume if anyone used tech like that it would be Origin. Though maybe I'm completely wrong and only those alien ships have that tech.
Hahaha, that’s one decked out ship! But the customizations are really some of the best parts, as not much else differentiates ships in game quite like them. Although they do tend to run up the costs quite a bit 😅
