I too prefer this design compared to concept art. I do not like the bland white gray on the concept, I'm a man who loves confined spaces and those black are just perfect.
No competition really. Maybe hybridization of the old Mustang Beta and the new Mustang Beta could be something impressive. Also, if you count the prospector as small. I also love the Pisces aesthetically and design wise, but for completely different reasons. 300 series just blows them all away. And I wish CIG would do more small ships with interiors because I really think it brings out their A game. I still believe that Hawk and the Ares need interior space of some kind to perform their designated roles from concept. Also, *laughs at Mantis*. WTF happened there. Great cockpit, interior looks like it never got past whiteboxing
See, I hated the initial concept for the 300i rework when it was shown at the expo. For me, it was too bright, too harsh, and not comfortable at all. I didn't want to spend any time in the ship and wanted nothing to do with it. I held on to my 300 just to see how it would turn out at the end and personally, I'm glad it didn't stay like it was because I would have melted it without a second thought. I much prefer the darker interior on it. It's more comfortable to me and I don't feel like I have to be in a constant hyper productive, formal, walking on eggshells state of mind like I would have been with the white.
@@xenn4985 morph said he preferred the white tho, but I think that he disregarded that the space is essentially a little bedroom instead treating it like he treats the main areas of bigger ships
Agreed. Their reworked design is better for this particular ship. I still agree with the less is more concept but regardless of that it’s still a lot better than the cold look before. The carpet is genius. The dark panels make it feel much cosier too.
i like how far in the future, every mundane objet has this scifi future feeling. expect fire extinguisher, it look exactly the same as we have today lol
@@michaelbeleut6480 Did you notice that random slope at the end of the kitchen counter that slopes down into a gap that would absolutely be a vortex of just crumbs and other nasty shit? I saw that and it immediately made me angry.
I love the 300 series. What I think I like best about your series is you help me see Things I never would. I'm much more concerned with acceleration rates and weapon stats. And on digital spaceships, a Drake ship is fine if it does the job. But I also have a frivolous side that says "I don't care about the stats, as long as it looks good. And I don't need to know "why" it looks good. But that's where you come in. Feeding my insatiable desire for knowledge I don't have. Thank you
As a friend of mine told me once about selecting gear in World of Warcraft: "Stats are important, of course, as is knowing what is optimal for your class/spec...but never forget the importance of the sexiness factor."
Your SC videos are quickly becoming some of my favorite! I especially love the way you lay out the information and your insight into design. Origin is one of my favorite ship manufactures for conceptual designs. However, they always seem to be a little off in the production. The 300 series is no exception, but it is far better than the 600 and 85x. When it comes to the differences in the interior from the concept art I am wondering if CIG's new ship customization features will allow us to alter the materials?
Yea I heard somewhere that theres a high chance the interior wasn't scraped from the floor concept model but rather is going to be interchangeable once they introduce swapping colour/ design on your ships. Would be nice to pimp it out the way your prefer :)
I’m a fan of the interior as implemented. The darker colors are comforting and the floor material is more practical for my profession, an explorer that will be tracking in all sorts of stuff. I was unsure of this rework but I’ve bought back my 315p and plan on flying it for a great many hours.
I like your videos, but I disagree with some of your analysis. I suppose it all goes to the point of view? For example, I like black, especially on a space ship. As a former Navy Sailor, I'm familiar with the more metallic and utilitarian nature of military warships. The RSI and Drake designs tend to have a similar feel, particularly the Cutlass (though, of course, on a very small scale). While Origin is designed for luxury, one noteworthy thing to consider that I learned from being on a ship's bridge at night - night vision. You're aware of going from a well lit building into a dark night or room, right? The Human eye will adjust when you're in dark areas to allow in more light, and likewise, adjust to allow less light when in bright areas to prevent overstressing/damaging your eyes/retina. This is why going from a dark place to a very bright place is painful, but going from a bright place to another bright place is not. On a warship bridge, you have to use cooler lighting, partly to avoid this vision change (when exposed to bright lights, your eyes adjust QUICKLY to prevent damage, but the adjustment to the dark takes ~30 minutes, depending on person and conditions). When needing to navigate safely at sea, this is important. [Of course, there's also the OPSEC concerns of having lights that could be seen through windows by potential adversaries, but I'm ignoring that for the purposes of this discussion.] Why do I mention all of this? Space is like permanent night navigation. A dark interior thus makes more sense to me, with cool lighting. I also liked the wood as accents to the black. And to me, the black and wood, together, made a far more welcoming, inviting feel, kind of like a well-to-do person's hunting lodge. I found the initial light colored version that you praise to be too sterile and actually un-inviting, like going to a well-to-do person's mother's house where you're afraid to sit on the furniture or take a step onto the carpet for fear of causing an undue offense. There's a fine line to make something welcoming while still expressing luxury, or to make something luxurious while not adding a feeling of fragility and delicacy that makes it unwelcoming. I believe this design strikes that balance pretty well. (As an owner of a 100i, I'm hoping to see the same in that model, of course scaled down, once it is released.)
"Space is like permanent night navigation" that's not entirely true, and nasa uses a lot of white on their ships for a reason, but this is just a game so whatever
It’s funny, I disagree with your review of the 300i’s interior, but it’s your review that has given me the words to explain why I disagree. I think your big sticking point was that the interior detailings are overdone, but when I took in the camera shot my first thought was “holy shit, this is luxury.” The bed and kitchen still appear to be delineated from the main cabin, but in a way that accents that they are part of a whole space. Ditching the visual separation between living space and cockpit also adds to that design philosophy, emphasizing that the cockpit is just another part of your space. Replacing the carpet with hard panels also makes sense here - who wants to scrub dirt and things tracked out of the bathroom from a carpet? Thanks for putting this video together. I feel like I learned a fair bit about design here. :)
The 300i feels like a full-sized van that has been converted into a miniature RV. All it's missing is an actual stove and some pantry/fridge space and this would be glamping in space without getting to the full-sized RV category. You can fit more places, you're more fuel efficient, and it's easier to just up and go when you want to.
I always enjoy your take on space ship (interior) design and you hit the nail here with the material use. A light shaggy carpet would make such a difference. Overall, it is absolutely not a bad ship and it is much much better than the original 300i IMHO. To me the old exterior felt it was kit-bashed together and the interior was not well-thought about. But I understand that original ship was created in a haste to create the iconic ship commercial to kickstart the funding, so it is still a commendable job on short notice.
100% agreeing with the review, I like the way they use the wood in the concept, separating space with different materials and lighting. The light strap now is a great reference to the old 300i interior design but that would be better if it is white or warmer colour just like those in the 600i.
Yes, "less is more" in music means not just removing unneeded notes or beats but also doubling the effort to make sure the notes or beats you keep are very special. This fits well with your design/architectural version of it. Very cool.
Thank you for covering the exterior! Finally! I still think you could have talked about it more in depth but I’ll take what I can get and this was more than any previous video.
I understand your perspective on the ship and kind of agree. The only thing that bugged me about the video is "sunroof", the difference between a sunroof and a moonroof is that a sunroof is able to retract and create airflow, a moonroof is a fixed version of the sunroof. Outside of that, I really liked the video along with the feel and fact that were presented.
a great video as Always, i do own myself a 315p and i'm mostly happy with the rework, hopefully the personalization options that will be tested with this ship will help fill the gap with our own personal tastes.
Yeah, I liked the original concept interior a lot more as well and hopefully it'll make a come-back when the interior variants are released in 3.5.1 with the other ships in the 300i line.
Love this series! Would love to see more industry professionals doing this sort of thing. "An aerospace engineer reviews", "A shipwright reviews", "An ergonomics specialist reviews". :)
Morphologis, you are one of the rare RUclipsrs I stumble upon that just has some nice quality content. Narration, editing and music is on point - also the professional approach is really interesting and you point out things that I haven't thought about, which probably saved me some money on let's say, the 600i. Keep up the good work!
If I was to make changes to the 300i: I would have it able to use the upper deck as a lockdown cargo pad. Players already do this and they jump through hilarious hoops to use it this way, it is superior to the lower cargo bay strictly because of available height. The lower cargo hold is extremely limited and buggy in that area. I would change the door design where the hinge is on the bottom and have fold out stairs, because you're telling me to buy a luxury vehicle that I have to climb up with my hands? Please😉. Many corporate planes have this feature and several sit higher than the 300i and are pressurized. This is a single pilot ship yet there are supplies for 2 people but not space for 2 people... Why? I would have options for players to have a slide out bed from under the main bed that could function as a second save point, plus it uses the space. A jump seat needs to be put somewhere I would replace the wine rack with a storable seat. The wine glasses can be placed elsewhere like under the counter. Lastly I would give the owner the option to get rid of the skylight in exchange for armor. It is silly for a combat ship to have a weak point that large that leaves the pilot vulnerable and it has been marketed as just that. The racer and the the P model likely wouldn't have the second bed or jump seat, the combat model would make use of the bed and jump seat as well as the original and both could make use of the cargo pad. The combat focused ship would certainly take the armor and all 300 designs need the stairs, the players would appreciate it.
The interior has grown on me alot. At the end of the day though, I believe we'll be able to upgrade interiors which will probably include the concept version.
I always enjoy your videos. The design is subjective of course, and I feel that this new interior is actually more cozy. The darker walls and floors with the subtle lighting calms me and makes me feel more at home in my 300 series. I love the wood accents, especially how they carry forward onto the yoke and pilot seat. I actually own the 325A but have customized it with the Moonlight paint which is a beautiful pearlescent white, so it looks like a 300i at first glance. I like the standard yoke and seat with all wood trim. It is, to me, similar to a BMW M5, which is a luxury sedan which can out perform a Mustang GT. My 325A is literally a wolf in sheep's clothing. I could not be happier with the design. But of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Love your Architect reviews, I always learn something new.
The blue strip light, and the orange lights up front contrast each other so well (even though the orange light might actually come from ArcCorp, and not the ship, idk). You know what part of the ship is for flying, and where the luxury is. I don't think they could have done this with the original concept, although I loved the simplistic wooden panels. It also got a bit messy, and since it was pretty dark in contrast, it was hard for my eyes to really focus on the details, and instead it just seemed messy. Great video. I love this series and has been going through your playlist lately. I only really learned why I find some spaces nicer to be in and look at, due to your expertise from these videos, and the detail in these videos are insane due to the fact that it is "just" a hobby.
My customized 315p is my favorite ship in my 22 ship fleet. I love the design, I love the handling, I love the weaponry, I love the promise of the utility mount, and BY GOD I love the storage
Absolutely stunning ship!! I agree that the interior is a little bit too busy though. The biggest culprit from my perspective is the excessive gloss and lighting. The lighting should be more uniform and instead of the lacquered darker wood I would have installed something like matt walnut wood.
Nice video. I like your open way of going about the particular points on your list. I think you shouldhave taken a look at the 300i's ladder. It is hardly luxurious to enter a space ship on all fours. Imo, I'd improve the 300i by adding "lear jet" stairs as a means of entry.
I totally agree with your critique's reasoning. However for me, thats what makes this ship. While i agree they should have separated the cabin more, the darkness and accents coupled with the sun roof make me feel like im a kid again on my sail boat looking at the sky. God i love this inside, its absolutely gorgeous and so cozy.
I enjoy these videos so much, as a graphic designer I have a very similar approach to the ships in Star Citizen. So thank you, and please keep doing these :)
Wow! I'm six seconds into the video and this aspect ratio is wacky on RUclips... the time it took me to write this has made me really appreciate it, actually. Sets it apart. Good job, Morph!
I get your point with black "tightening the space", and it does, but on the other hand i'm a big fan of the association black & wood, i feel like white would just not be right next to this wood. Both designs have their strengths. And the lighting is just on top.
In response to this video's blurb: The 300x series are a real winner! - Stunning exterior lines and a (mostly) matching interior. With the benefit of hindsight, we see the 600i is clearly an outlier. At some point, I _will_ be pledging for either a 325a or 315p, even though my trusty Aegis Titan does all the in-game stuff just as well - It comes down to being able to personalise paint, interior trim and fittings, as well as weapon / component loadouts - I _really_ like that aspect and the level of customisation afforded. - Others quite like the dark carpet and fair enough - I however, agree with you, Morphologis! I hadn't previously seen the concept and would have preferred the option of lighter carpet, or even better: options for different coloured floor mats for the 'living' area. To that end, when playing with the customisation on the shop page, I've tended to pick the lighter coloured bedding to lighten that area a little, lol - Having said that, from the video, the satin grey bedding looks much better in-game than the still on the shop page. - I also might have preferred the timber finish for the living area per the concept, but IRL I 'have a bent' towards timber in house interiors - On the other hand, I think I can see what CIG/RSI are trying to do in that regard -> going for the luxury GT car look (where that dark carpet runs the length of the interior, which might help to explain that decision by CIG/RSI) rather than the decidedly more 'nautical' flavour of the 400i and 890J
I think there could have been a lot of success with the color changes if they had just left in the light carpet (and maybe made the bathroom door white as well). Dark colored alcoves for the bed and kitchenette could have made for a false sense of depth and made the ship feel larger.
Dig the new design. Got the starting package with this ship back when it all started. The design now looks much more appealing, has a great flow about it. Thanks for the vid. Just subbed.
Being both light sensitive and most comfortable in smaller, compact spaces, I have an aversion to white in some regards. Things often just get too bright for me. Therefore, the changes they implemented into the final design fits me perfectly! The shot where you stand at the back of the ship looking forward, the abundance of black, brown and orange, and especially the corner lighting, makes me feel very cozy and comfortable. Calm, yet excitement. It reminds me of late night road trips and exploration, where the vehicle you use, albeit comfortable by all means, is still just a means to an end in the long run but is also a safe nook at the end of the day. That being said, I don't mind the white accents in the interior one bit. Too much dark and it just becomes muddy, even for me. As for the exterior, that rear outline looks gorgeous, especially the wings! If I started playing, this would be my starter ship, hands down!
Agreed about the black floor. Didn't really see the problem with the cockpit. Looked fine for me. The most important is to have info in the cockpit. Thanks :)
I actually love my 325a after I tossed it through the Anniversary customization page; I've spent the most aUEC changing components and weapons on it and it's stellar
I love your videos and couldn't wait to check this one out! Personally I completely see where you're coming from with the live 300i losing some of that luxury feel from the concept, but I think it was a good change. Even though the 300i isn't the 325a, it still isn't **just** a luxury ship designed to take you from point A to point B; it also has some combat blood flowing through its veins. It's primary focus is definitely luxury, but I think the live changes do a good job of blending the luxury feel with the combat feel. The concept 300i felt a little bit **too** luxurious to me, more befitting the 600 series than the 300 series.
Glad to see a new review :) For me the thing that would have called to me would be a nice burl wood and a light toned quartz countertop around the sink.
I think that the particular attention to detail in your review is very much on point. This is meant to be a luxury-style ship. Perhaps not the super-yacht, but definitely a ship that makes a statement about one's taste. And in that regard, one really should expect not only an excellent choice of materials and use of space, but also in the best use and presentation of them. To me, it's something like a 7/10. It would be hyperbole to call it a fumble, but certainly one could call it a missed opportunity.
Bought this ship years ago as my starter and love the way it looks on the outside, interior is fine but nothing fantastic. Thanks for informing me of the cargo lift haha To be fair I've only put in 10 hours total. Great Video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This video corresponds to the bedroom furniture I recently bought. No knobs of any kind. Simple, white, and made in Denmark that kinda resembles ikea furniture somewhat. I'm getting rid of all the clutter so that it only has what a bedroom needs and how it needs to look. Less is definitely more, and it feels liberating.
I love these Reviews Morph, Keep it up! I know I'm no designer so I know my input doesn't mean much but seeing how the 300i is to be basically the starting point for all of the 300 series from Origin, having the interior look rather basic (for a luxury ship) isn't all that bad. Now I'm not sure if it was implemented with 3.5 or if it will be in future patches but I do remember them saying something about if you were to purchase a 300i off the site they would have a basic customization for the interior like for example replacing the flooring with the carpet and perhaps changing the coloring of the interior of the ship. If that is the case then to have the interior to look as it does would make a little more sense. After all if your able to change the color of the leather seats of an Audi it would stand to reason that one day you may be able to change the interior pallet of your Origin ship.
Wow I learn so much about design from this channel. I also want to say that I think the 300i should have a second seat beside the pilot seat. I think many more small ships ought to have copilot passenger seats.
I agree that the black detracts from feel of luxury. This ship should feel light, warm and welcoming. The black negates most of that warmth by making it "light vs dark" instead of "oh... wow!"
I am not quite sure about using lighter colours on the nices in the back, as, especially for the sleeping area, it makes it more intimate and cozy. And then making the kitchen lighter in tone, though perfect for a citchen, making it easier to see whats going on, could lead to throwing the backside of balance and making it backbord heavy. But I totally agree in using a softer, lighter floor material on the "upper floor" maybe even adding a retractable box to put your shoes into, on the inside of the door, alonside the stairs.
Personally, I love the black (plates??) And how the blue lights and the dark wood compliment it to create this cozy feeling, but I always appreciate your opinions and I enjoy watching your vids, keep up the content!
I agree with you on the floor color and separation of areas. I also think the kitchenette needs some more white in small areas. Otherwise, I think it looks great!
Ever since this was reworked I have had my eye on it its beautiful! I do totally agree about the over detailing on the panels and just in general, sometimes simple is amazing. Don't get me wrong the ship looks great and I am still buying one, but the bed and facilities should have stayed with the original wood design I definitely preferred that!
I think the wing spoiler could be rounded out some. I would offer a shuttle version with seating for at least 4 passengers though that might demand a stretch of the fuselage. With an airlock where the door is. So the owner could use it to bring guests on planet or dock with a 400I/600I/890.
im a fan of the 300 series i own a 315p my self it has a slightly bigger cargo area and a tractor emitter , its going to be the ship i use for a courier/exploration /smuggling while it loses a weapon for the beam , the bigger hold makes it more useful for things like contraband runs then say a avenger
I personally love the realism that the panelization offers. Feels a lot more like a real, modern day luxury jet ala Gulfstream and the like. Glossy lacquer but with panels to strategically hide things that boxy aluminum and formica would normally hide on a Coach class passenger jet. The necessities of living havent changed, but instead have been thoughtfully incorporated into design. This I believe is CIG's talent-- even though you and others may see it as overdetailing. The intention behind each makes it feel like I could really fly one of these one day.
I bought the 300i based on the stats over the Titan. I further customized the ship with red which was nice and it reminded me of a new car configuration tool at the Ford or Chevrolet website. Sadly the cargo ramp is buggy and limits the usefulness of the ship. I did a delivery in it picked up a box and set it in the cargo area. At the drop off I opened the cargo to find the box was pushed into the ships body where it could not be retrieved. So with the cargo not able to be used and the side door so high up, I can not toss boxes in it when open.
I am happy with the design with the exeption of the slanted surface in the bed area directly behind the pillow. Its about 3 a d a half feet long, slanted at perhaps 20 degrees with nothing there but wasted space. Perhaps some open storage would have been useful or even some kind of shelves to place books or even pantry ingrediants. Overall i love this ship so much!
I think the black in the living space makes it feel more cozy and homely combined with the wood and warm lighting. Segmented flooring may have added to that but maybe a tad too much, considering the cockpit is right there, its obviously not meant to be a flying penthouse like the bigger ships. I think it strikes a perfect balance between utility and luxury comfort, as it is.
Beautiful ship but the ladder instead of a more practical stairs setup ruins the ships design for me from a practical point. The interior, I agree with everything you said. Great video.
I really enjoy these videos. I hope the designers are watching as they get so close to really amazing design these are great as showing some of the areas that they fall down in
as an architectural technologist I just thought on what to add to mack it more "homey." Walk of mat in front of the door; carpet on the stair and in front of the bed; a couple of water resident vinyl planks in front of the kitchen nook and water closet; leaving the pilot site untouched, but that's just my thought.
I totally agree. The concept design was better to me because it was highlighting all the 300i means to be. - A luxury white ship that takes inspiration from yatch and luxury jet aircraft. The interior materials must reflect that aslo - A ship that needs to give you a feeling of space, because actually it is very small. - A living space that no only needs to be beautiful but also confortable and at least a bit warmful This new black finish feels more industrial and cold, which is fine but a bit irrelevant considering the ship purposes and as you said, a lot of new details make the overall less readable. Like the new floor which completely breaks the perspective lines or the presence of too many different colours for a so small space
I liked more of the wood interior more for sure, but loved the design of the flooring and lighting strips much more. I wonder though if keeping the final design but going from black to white/gray would have been that much better though
Glad I'm not the only one who finds the pilot's area to be lacking in separation from the rest of the interior. It looks really off to have such an important seat just sitting at the end of what is effectively a single corridor. No mention of having a ladder for a luxury ship though?
@@Husty7777777 For sure, it's a nice looking ship. Personally I can't see myself owning it since the luxury aesthetic doesn't appeal to me much (I'm more a Drake guy), but I can still respect great design.
Once again another great video. I do hope that CIG allows us as the owners of the 300 series to choose our own interior designs. I would love a more wooden finish like the first design had.
Thankyou for your review. It IS a pretty exterior, and the interior looks ok - certainly far better than the Mustang-B rework. That said, I was somewhat surprised you gave them such a pass on the incomplete kitchenette area and the bathroom which leaves the door open when in use. Additionally, the entry ladder feels a bit out of character vs. a biz jet style of folding stairway. The Kitchenette, as outfitted, is an exercise in styling, not practicality. The way the countertop slides off on the left just looks like a place for food waste to slide off and accumulate in a hard to clean corner. Beyond that you've got a sink and either a mini fridge or maybe its a mini microwave sort of device on the left. So the 300i offers no means for its owner to prepare a coffee or cook/reheat a meal. Seemingly an induction style cooking surface wouldn't have been too hard to add to a part of the open counter top. Furthermore, the open area under the sink has no purpose. I'd have preferred drawers or more appliances integrated into that space instead of what we see. The exception would be if that kitchenette had an option to serve as a proper desk, then the open area would make some sense. The bathroom door issue is just mildly icky given the huge skylight and the direct lack of privacy that implies. I don't understand the kind of luxury Origin is supposedly going for when they can't even accommodate a single passenger on this Learjet sized interior. But should someone 'cheat' and bring along a passenger, the interior of that ship is not going to feel at all luxurious if they have to use the bathroom with the door open. Its just sort of a disconnect with these designers achieving that luxury feel they claim for Origin. The last issue I feel warrants a mention is the boarding ladder. Instead of a business jet's folding set of stairs, we get an awkward ladder to climb. This seems rather a bit far from 'luxury', once again.
I love your reviews as always. I agreed on the 600i however, I do find that the 300i was done in perfection. I'm no arquitect and, of course, I know they're opinions but, this is my opinion :P I really do love this line of ships. Wonderful work however and very well presented criticism. 10/10.
Your architect reviews are pretty cool. Personally, I really like the 300i redesign, and it became part of my bucket list of a future in-game ship purchase. I can see what you mean about there maybe being too much detail, but I didn't feel the detail or black color were particularly distracting...might of been better with the grey and white carpet interior, but I guess I'd have to see that as a finished product to know.
I completely Disagree with everything you said about the interior ( the carpet was Really out of place, literally) :XD, except the cockpit ( you made some good points ) , I don't know why It really feels like an Airplane than a luxury ship, and that's the main reason I love this ship so much and also was the first ship that I bought.
I think you're looking at the Stock 300i, where as the other variants might have the other interior, or it could be a separate interior entirely that you can purchase from a Origin dealership.
Hi Morphologyst (I think I spelled that correctly) I flew the 3.4 version myself and looked at it's interior. Now, being fully honest with you, I have to agree with your remarks. Although it still looks much better than it has before, it lacks that oumpf effect. Where you aren't only drawn to it's interior but also it's exterior. I liked it when it had a lighter flooring to better reflect lighting which gave it a more hollowed looked. Like it was empty but full at the same time. As now, in comparison, it definitively lost that spacious feel considering that most of the time, you'll be in space with that ship, making it a very dark interior. Oh, I owned a 325a.

Yeah I feel the same way, original white interior for me was too stark, cold and boring. Love the way they were able to make it more warm and cozy.
nothing you said has anything to do with why morph liked the older design though

@@Bigwillyice ah, fair enough then. i didn't notice him saying that.
It definitely gives me the feel of an S-class in space. Great review.
Me to , you are right so true!
one day I will make it a reality!
I'm a bit of a technical person and I like the current design more than the original concept art of the reworked 300i. Guess it's subjective.
Me too! Way more. The concept looked so dull and simple with the colors. I like the accents and material and darknes in the new one.
The concept is pretty garbage. Too bland with nothing to show for it. Would bring shame to the 300i if it went live like that.
I need "Morphologis analyzes interior design" ASMR
Oh god oh please no
Your SC videos are quickly becoming some of my favorite!
@@Leopardts 100% agree! It would be an amazing feature to have 😊 hope the rumors are true
Definitely one of my favorite ships. I haven't played Star Citizen in several years and I still think of the interior of the 300i sometimes idk why
[Of course, there's also the OPSEC concerns of having lights that could be seen through windows by potential adversaries, but I'm ignoring that for the purposes of this discussion.]
Why do I mention all of this?
@@ArmchairChemist It's to deflect the suns heat
This has quickly become one of my favourite series on Star Citizen. Thank you for this.
Yup, in the commercial the ship was perfect for me.
100% agreeing with the review, I like the way they use the wood in the concept, separating space with different materials and lighting. The light strap now is a great reference to the old 300i interior design but that would be better if it is white or warmer colour just like those in the 600i.
Just wanted to thank you for making Videos in 21:9. Appreciate it!
Yes, "less is more" in music means not just removing unneeded notes or beats but also doubling the effort to make sure the notes or beats you keep are very special. This fits well with your design/architectural version of it. Very cool.
You are really helping me pick out what ship package I will start with next month. thank you for your work!
Thank you for covering the exterior! Finally! I still think you could have talked about it more in depth but I’ll take what I can get and this was more than any previous video.
I don't even play this game and I LOVE these reviews!
Personally I really like the dark parts. You have the space while still feeling luxurious and cozy.
a great video as Always, i do own myself a 315p and i'm mostly happy with the rework, hopefully the personalization options that will be tested with this ship will help fill the gap with our own personal tastes.
Yeah, I liked the original concept interior a lot more as well and hopefully it'll make a come-back when the interior variants are released in 3.5.1 with the other ships in the 300i line.
Yup, I own one just for looks, and for fast delivery runs in a local system, but my Freelancer for long missions.
Shame shit just falls through the cargo bay. Or the bay door stops functioning altogether.
I'd absolutely love to see you review the 300 series as a whole when it releases, as well as the customization that will be coming to the 300 series
Great video once again, easily one of my favorite SC related content these days, keep them coming.
I love the storage in the back of the cabin in the 300i very industrial but in quality sort of way
Ur architect reviews series has taught me so much about design and I’ve used so much of ur input in my art wowz
And in my designs in space engineers lol
I really like the interior, dark as it is. Keep em coming morph!
I agree. That's the biggest flaw this ship has. But other than that, it's perfect.
Very much appreciated, always informative work!
I enjoy these videos so much, as a graphic designer I have a very similar approach to the ships in Star Citizen. So thank you, and please keep doing these :)
Very much agree. The initial design feels much better.
I hope/wish that some customizability will be possible.
I haven't watched any videos of the old ships since I pledged for a 300i in 2014 - great to see how the rework improved a lot!
At some point, I _will_ be pledging for either a 325a or 315p, even though my trusty Aegis Titan does all the in-game stuff just as well
- It comes down to being able to personalise paint, interior trim and fittings, as well as weapon / component loadouts - I _really_ like that aspect and the level of customisation afforded.
Thanks :)
I've always loved the 300 series. I originally backed the game with the 325A game package back in 2015 and can't wait to get it in game.
I love this series, so glad to see another video!
Great series! I'd love to see a Architect Review on AEGIS' industrial salvage ship, the Reclaimer.
You are on to something here. There's a reason why so many of us liked the original.
Glad to see a new review :)
For me the thing that would have called to me would be a nice burl wood and a light toned quartz countertop around the sink.
Definitely my favourite series. The 325a was my first ship, and I plan on keeping it
Bought this ship years ago as my starter and love the way it looks on the outside, interior is fine but nothing fantastic.
Thanks for informing me of the cargo lift haha
To be fair I've only put in 10 hours total.
There is also a bunch of added extras/customizations you can add onto the 300i in the pledge store.
The carpet in the aft kitchen/bed area thing is a good point. I agree.
Why don't you write a letter to CIG and work as consultant for design aspects for them! i totally agree with all you says. Good work, keep going.
I really think having an architect onboard would be an immense boon to ship and level design. Go for it!!
I hope the designers are watching as they get so close to really amazing design these are great as showing some of the areas that they fall down in
I love your videos, your thoughts and the camera work
as an architectural technologist I just thought on what to add to mack it more "homey." Walk of mat in front of the door; carpet on the stair and in front of the bed; a couple of water resident vinyl planks in front of the kitchen nook and water closet; leaving the pilot site untouched, but that's just my thought.
I totally agree. The concept design was better to me because it was highlighting all the 300i means to be.
- A luxury white ship that takes inspiration from yatch and luxury jet aircraft. The interior materials must reflect that aslo
- A ship that needs to give you a feeling of space, because actually it is very small.
- A living space that no only needs to be beautiful but also confortable and at least a bit warmful
This new black finish feels more industrial and cold, which is fine but a bit irrelevant considering the ship purposes
and as you said, a lot of new details make the overall less readable. Like the new floor which completely breaks the perspective lines or the presence of too many different colours for a so small space
I love this series, I'd love if you made more!
Oh, man... that ladder! I totally agree with you. Despite that, the ship still very nice in my opinion.
@@Husty7777777 For sure, it's a nice looking ship. Personally I can't see myself owning it since the luxury aesthetic doesn't appeal to me much (I'm more a Drake guy), but I can still respect great design.
Man the panning shots make it look so real!
Such a beautifully narrated video with some great insights. Thank you, it is always a pleasure to watch these series!
I love your reviews as always. I agreed on the 600i however, I do find that the 300i was done in perfection. I'm no arquitect and, of course, I know they're opinions but, this is my opinion :P I really do love this line of ships.
Wonderful work however and very well presented criticism. 10/10.
Great stuff. i'm very temped to trade in my 350R for this. We'll have to see how the revamped 350R compares in days to come
Your architect reviews are pretty cool.
I completely Disagree with everything you said about the interior ( the carpet was Really out of place, literally) :XD, except the cockpit ( you made some good points ) ,
I don't know why It really feels like an Airplane than a luxury ship, and that's the main reason I love this ship so much and also was the first ship that I bought.
Exactly. The new design is so much better.
Such good points! If only CIG watched these videos for pointers.
I think you're looking at the Stock 300i, where as the other variants might have the other interior, or it could be a separate interior entirely that you can purchase from a Origin dealership.
Given your comments about the Titan, I'd love to see "An Architect Reviews" episode on it.
Hi Morphologyst (I think I spelled that correctly)
I flew the 3.4 version myself and looked at it's interior.
