      Since it's only like 2 inches away I figured it wasn't worth the work to remove the old mount. I don't even have a grinder. What I did in the video has been working just fine.

    The stud was still there. You could have wired the shock to keep it from sliding off, like in the good old days.

      I hadn't thought of that, yep that would also work.

      This just happened to mine, were you able to fix it?

    Please oh please tell me you moved the other side too. IF not you are going to have uneven wear on your tires.

      Nope. It's OK I never drive the truck anymore ;-)

      The shock has nothing to do with tire wear.

      @@InternetDude God bless you!! It will pay for itself in just one job. Additionally, it really is a very important skill to have in auto repair.

      Not everyone has the money for a welder, nor can most weld themselves.

    Terrible idea,that is a job for someone with a cutting wheel grinder and a welder. easy fix for any shop.There are just some jobs that should not be Hacked and this is one of them. That Dorman Kit was made to be rewelded in place.Or a (Saw's All) would have removed the weld and stud.

    And I just realize something else the fool put the damn washer piece on backwards the large side is supposed to but up to the base not the damn back of the Bolt. So it can be welded properly

    • @InternetDude
      @InternetDude  4 года назад

      The way it is designed it cannot be put on with the larger side of the tapered "washer" against the base.
