i have a 96 mozda and your vid was right on time, i fixed one side like you said and the other side broke too so i had got two of those stud kits it rides like new now though it took around six hours to complete.
dude , I just snapped this off my f-250 this morning and I wasn't going to order a whole new arm . so looking around the net for a quick fix and I clicked on your video . when I saw you smoking that big cigar wearing that mopar shirt I knew I found the right place , thanks !! on my way to get the stud from autozone
My new bilsteins are in the mail. Really dreading this job as I’m living on the road and have limited tools. Should have everything I need as long as everything goes semi smoothly but I’m trying to read up as much as I can and I greatly appreciate men like you who are willing to take the time to share their work. Thanks for both of the videos on this!! Fingers crossed I’m able to get the 185k Ohio mile nuts of lol
Adding another "Thanks" to your 6 year old video. Just did the fix you showed on both front shocks for our relatively "new" 1994 Ford Ranger. The first bolt twisted off and I didn't panic, I went to YT and quickly found this video. A local NAPA auto parts carries the fix kit for about $8, but before getting it I tried the second one and it quickly twisted off also. My biggest worry was drilling "relatively" thick steel. The first smallest bit is the toughest. I used maybe 7 or 8 to get to 1/2". In the end, it took me a while to complete but she's done. I'm 61 and not a mechanic. Thanks again.
This saved my ass. Same thing happened the lower shock stud broke. I was panicking thinking I had to replace the whole radius arm. Found this video and got the bolt replacement and it worked better than I hoped for! Gotta take your time grinding the old one off and make a flat surface on the inside, and go slow and make a clean drill hole but it will save a lot of time and money using this replacement bolt! You the man!
You saw my comment on your shock replacement video and I’m back lol. I was able to get the three manageable shocks off using a 12 in blade on my recip saw and that took very little time to get the old ones off. Went to swap the driver front today - got the top mount cut off and went to remove the bottom mount and sure enough, it snapped in half. Thanks for including a link to the amazon product. They will have it to me tomorrow! Seriously you’re awesome dude keep it up
@@ozzstars_cars well when your boss says heat those nuts cherry red and take it a 1/4 turn at a time and rock it back and forth.. Heat turn heat turn. Then I go a snap it off. He wasn't to impressed
Brother, you saved me a couple hundred bucks! $$ I stumbled upon this video and followed your example. Lmao !!! Don’t fear when your stud is broken !!! Brother you’ve helped out a lot !!!! Last night I broke mine off my 97 ranger !!! I was disappointed 😔 !!! Looking all over for the whole control arm set up, but now all I need is bolt kit , drill , 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 bits !!!! Thanks man !!!

Thanks so much!! Your video saved my ass. Just replaced both front shocks on my 2003 e250 4.2L van and sheered both nuts on both sides. Got these replacement studs day before just in case and needed them both!! 15mm flex head flat ratchet was a life saver for the driver side top shock nut.

man i work for uhaul repair and we have e450 in the fleets first time this happened to me i thought man i really messed up now...we replaced the radius arm but this is great for someones personal vehicle
Didn't know they made a kit for this. I've had three break within the last ten years on three different vans and I always torched out the stud with oxy/acetylene and replaced with a 5/8 bolt. Seems like a much easier (and less messy) job. Should one do it again I'll do this. Thanks!
Thanks Boss! My 2003 E150 has the same snag in the same place. Bottom of the front shock mount snapped, now I just hafta wait for the mailman (eBay) to bring more parts. Just when I thought I had everything I needed………..
this'll help me out alot, i have a 93 ranger thats remarkably similar in design, not ot mention the snapping off part... will be putting anti-sieze on after. OK, maybe not, its an old thing, chances are the shocks wont need to be changed again.
I am a fleet mechanic for a fleet of about 30 ambulances.... I have spent far too much time working on E-Series vans. I basically always heat those lower nuts, they love to break. The gas axe also comes in handy at the top of the shock.... so much faster to just burn off the top of the shock instead of screwing around with the nut.

@@ozzstars_cars you are removing the stud from the raised metal side, and drilling from the recessed side (the inner side).
