Akhtar isn't angry he's simply trying to intimidate JL. He's explaining to him who was bowling the ball that just hit him, this is best done right up close.

Absolutely. The best players may not be the best coaches r for that matter the best captains. And unlike Baseball the captain is very important in the game of cricket on the field.

They take such a long run up, raising body temperature & heart beats to end up with a shot being hit or a close call or anything short of a Wicket, that naturally annoys them a bit, so they tend to be quite aggressive just by nature & sledging becomes a part of it.
JL told akhtar you will be tired in couple of overs and then I will be incharge. Akhtar hits JL on hand and makes fun of him(hurting hand gesture) when he balls the next ball. See the video clip of Justin Langer hit on the head by Makhaya Ntini at Centurian (Pretoria) in Langer's hundredth test. Langer was prepared to come back and bat again as last man when Australia were nine down second innings. But the batsmen got the runs. Ponting said that if a wicket had fallen he would not have allowed Langer to bat which would have meant Australia would have lost the test.

In response to your question as to what the bowler is upset about,it's simple,he's a fast bowler, they are born pissed off with the world! It's why they're quick!
There is nothing better in cricket than a fast bowler bowling genuine pace, and the batsman not taking a backwards step at all. The crowds love it, and get right behind the bowler, chanting him in, and he lets it fly. And the batsman needs genuine courage to get in behind it to play it. It’s one the best aspects of cricket that just isn’t found in baseball. A pitcher can pitch inside, but he can’t deliberately aim at the body and intimidate the batter. Once is a walk, the second is probably an ejection. A good fast bowler can bowl 6 uncomfortable deliveries in a row - have a rest and bowl six more.
That's why Test cricket is real cricket... 5 days x 7 hours.... 90 overs each day.... 2 innings each. The game can change in one session... And the banters
Shoaib Akhtar was pissed when JL slapped him to the fielder at cover the first ball of this over. Even though it went straight to the fielder, no fast bowler likes getting pasted by a batsman. Especially when JL hit it so cleanly.
If you want to see the toughest batsman in cricket take a look at this battle between Steve Waugh and Curtly Ambrose. It was on a green seaming wicket and Ambrose was tearing Australia apart until Waugh came in and basically said I've had enough of this and won't back down. Justin Langer was a young 21 year old watching this in the change room and was late quoted as saying. "....watching this the hair was standing up on the back of my neck and I said you're crazy (Steve Waugh) but if you're willing to stand up to Ambrose in these conditions, I'll go to war with you". Watching thus is what made JL the tough batsman he was. You have to react to it you will love it. BTW Australia lost this test but went on to win the next with Steve Waugh getting 200 not out and it was the first time the West Indies were beaten at home for 30 years. Steve Waughs stand here was what set up the win in the next test because he let them know that we aren't backing down anymore. ruclips.net/video/6SmwodC7E9k/видео.html

Before JL became coach of Australia he was the coach of the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. This is the Australian T20 domestic league which allows each team to play some overseas players. Whilst the other teams went for big name batsmen and bowlers, JL would go for lesser known players who met his standards of wanting to play for his team and would embrace the standard of team first and last and not the size of their paychecks. The Perth Scorchers are the most successful of all the teams in the competition under JL's coaching despite every year the experts discounting their chances.

I think the channel "Cricket for Americans" is as much as "Baseball for cricket playing nations". It is so interesting and intriguing (I wouldn't use fascinating because the two are related is known) to learn about baseball and if the games are similar and different in the way that they may be cousins the nuances of playing and coaching and the mindset seems to be so related. I had written earlier that discussions are fun and I think one of the reasons is that it is becoming a fair exchange of both sides learning and comparing the two games so similar yet so different.
Pls react to India vs Pakistan A war of bat and ball documentary on RUclips , it’s non copyright , however it’s 50 minutes long but it’s really interesting and fun and shows the tense rivalry between the two sides. I think you guys will love it so I hope you react.
A lot of chat about Langer's size, I'd imagine there would be few cricketers who could last five minutes in a ring with him ....he's a serious martial artist. First degree black belt, I believe. He also has a bit of a crazy gene, hit that many times on the head and generally just smiled and got on with it.
If you want to know what JL is about, have a look at a video of his debut Test where he made a half century against the West Indies when they were the best, with a fearsome pace attack of Ambrose, Bishop, Walsh and Benjamin that were battering the Aussies and the rest of the world at the time
Test cricket is all about hanging in there as long as you can and score some runs. The strike rate does nt matter as you got lot of time to play unlike T20s or ODIs. JL was such a customer who is good in hanging around and not loosing your wicket against tough bowling. He was an accumulator of runs facing touch challenges. And not to forget consistent fast pace bowling from the Rawalpindi Express! He comes second in my favourite Pakistan bowler. First one is obviously the Sultan of Swing!
You should have seen the test where Australia was chasing a difficult target. Shoaib hit Langer with the ball and he lost a tooth and stood there and smiled back at him..
Nick, the bowler you saw Shoaib Akhtar is till date the FASTEST bowler in the world. He's the record holder for bowling the fastest bowl in cricket history. He was the DON, the BAD GUY, the GANGSTER of cricketing world. Many batsman were scared to face him.
Forget Brett Lee man, JL played on the same team as Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke, Shane Warne, Glen McGrath, Andrew Symonds among others.
As long as the batsman offers a shot/stroke against a ball, the bowler has a chance of getting the wicket. Langer was an opening batsman for the Aussies and Shoaib a very fast swing bowler. So Shoaib's objective is to get a wicket while the shine of the ball gives him the advantage while Langer's objective is to hold on as long as he can and take the shine off the ball so that it will swing less as it will give more talented batsmen down the order like Ponting better odds Shoaib is frustrated that Langer is not offering shots to his good balls while Langer is trying to get the bowler off his rhythm by taunting him about how he can read that bouncer. All in all, this is what Test cricket is all about, 3d chess where the players are trying to take the mental upper hand.
Back in the day, Shoaib Akhtar bowling Sachin was delightful to watch. Sachin is kind of a player who you don't wanna sledge him because he is too much of a nice guy. Akthar was ruthless no matter the player. Shoaib used all his ammunition to make the little master tilt but he always kept his cool.
he's angry because he's trying to intimidate Langer ... he's threatening him ... being mean .... trying to hit him or hurt him with the ball ... trying to make Langer scared so he might play a rash shot or not get in and behind the ball .... Intimidation and fear is a thing in cricket - always has been and always will be ...
Shoib Akhter was the fastest bowler ever in cricket he holds the record for the fastest ball ever in cricket history. And that was his prime too. As you can see he was bowling at 150 kph , at that time, only few bowlers including Brett lee, were able to bowl at 150 kph , so it was really dificult for batsman to face it.
Raizo rain look at this way , speed guns came in around 1984 in Australia anyway where each ball speed was shown on tv. Thommo bowled a 160 kph ball, you see it on youtube. This was 8 years and a shoulder reconstruction after his best. Shoabs was 161.7, a bit above. But the first ever test was done in 1975 by a University in W.A that scientifically measured Thommo at 161.00 kph during an afternoons spell in a test match against england. What are the odds that the only time he was measured happened to coincide with the fastest ball he ever bowled? Minuscule, this was just an average spell for the guy 160, his hottest he would have been 165 minimum.
Coaching at highest level is all about managing not coaching about the game!!! These players don't need extra skills from someone else. They need someone to manage them.
It is not anger, it is more like a challenge between the batsman and the baller. Regardless of the countries. Shoaib Akhtar is a legend and world's fastest bowler. You need to understand his run-up his action his flat foot issue. And then appreciate him.
Are you guys going to watch any of the England vs West Indies Test Match coming up in July? Would like to see you react to the Allan Donald vs Michael Atherton 1998
Nice. By the way, again, cricket bowlers do NOT "throw" the ball to the batsmen (throwing= elbows being bent to generate pace when releasing the ball), they bowl with a straight(ish) arm by rotating the whole arm !
Jeff Thomson was the fastest bowler in cricket history. Making up the top five in no particular order would be Shoaib Akhtar, Frank Tyson, Brett Lee and Mohammed Zahid.
Bowler was trying to dominate batsmen with aggression, he is not angry Batters also dominate bowlers when they are on fire 🔥. It’s all part of the game and also entertainment for crowd.
Shoaib Akhtar is an absolute legend and famously known as RAWALPINDI EXPRESS. He's also one of the most feared bowler ever!!

As long as the batsman offers a shot/stroke against a ball, the bowler has a chance of getting the wicket. Langer was an opening batsman for the Aussies and Shoaib a very fast swing bowler. So Shoaib's objective is to get a wicket while the shine of the ball gives him the advantage while Langer's objective is to hold on as long as he can and take the shine off the ball so that it will swing less as it will give more talented batsmen down the order like Ponting better odds
Shoaib is frustrated that Langer is not offering shots to his good balls while Langer is trying to get the bowler off his rhythm by taunting him about how he can read that bouncer.
Shoaib Akhter is a legend cricketer. Justin Langer is like a kid in front of him.
Lol. So true
Langer was a dawg.Never gave his wicket away easily. He would fight to the end
he's angry because he's trying to intimidate Langer ... he's threatening him ... being mean .... trying to hit him or hurt him with the ball ... trying to make Langer scared so he might play a rash shot or not get in and behind the ball ....
Intimidation and fear is a thing in cricket - always has been and always will be ...
Watch gambhir vs Afridi fights 😁 for some contender to. No 1 Fights 😁🥇in cricket

he is the fastest bowler in cricket history and also known as don of cricket
Shoib Akhter was the fastest bowler ever in cricket he holds the record for the fastest ball ever in cricket history. And that was his prime too. As you can see he was bowling at 150 kph , at that time, only few bowlers including Brett lee, were able to bowl at 150 kph , so it was really dificult for batsman to face it.
Raizo rain jeff thomson was faster than this guy
@@docgonzales But he has the record for the fastest bowl ever.
8.50 was the time stamp on mine.

So you don't know about Shoaib Akhtar??? Holy... Shoaib is the World's fastest bowler in the history of cricket marking 161.3kmph
I think they know that.. lol
@@fazzxides8429 They do now. That comment was from over a year ago. They have come a long way.
@@jkmani 👍🏼
I just wish the fast bowlers would get on and bowl their bloody overs. No wonder they struggle to get through even 90 overs in a day.
World fastest bowler in this cricket history Rawalpindi Express
React to Sachin Tendulkar vs Brett lee
Best God level rivalry
Jeff Thomson was the fastest bowler in cricket history. Making up the top five in no particular order would be Shoaib Akhtar, Frank Tyson, Brett Lee and Mohammed Zahid.
Don of cricket, terror of bowling ,fear of facing the bowler agreesion ,technique and many many more by only Shoaib akhter.
I love shoaib akhtar Rawalpindi Express
The bowler shoaib akhtar is the fastest baller in the world still after almost 15 years ago his fastest ball was 161.3 kmh unbreakable record
It’s a test match and to get them out you need to make them angry to play raah shot
Bowler was trying to dominate batsmen with aggression, he is not angry
Batters also dominate bowlers when they are on fire 🔥. It’s all part of the game and also entertainment for crowd.
Shoaib Akhtar is still alive in our hearts ❤❤❤❤
