- This is me reacting to the championship volleyball match from the 2022 FIVB Men's World Championship between Italy and Poland. This is the FINAL! This was one of the highest level games I have ever watched.
I remember that by the end of the game Italy serve and defense were just out of this world and even though Poland played very well there was nothing they could do.
I watch these almost every day, but it’s always amazing to see how incredible pro players are.
So it's 2nd set... I can't help thinking Poland could have won that second set, if they didn't sub Śliwka out. Gianelli was serving floats at him - he was fighting them off decently and Poland usually just made side out. But once Śliwka is out, Gianelli surely wouldn't test Fornal, who is better passer. So he just went for Semeniuk with all he's got.
Looking forward to some Zaksa action :)
wow thats a great observation and one i didn't really notice because i haven't seen the entire match. sometimes substitutions make the opposing team change tactics and it sounds like that is what happened here.
Happy for you to watch this match ❤ For us Poles it was very stressful moment, but in the end the better team won.

What a moment was for Italy, i still can't believe that we are world champions after beating teams like France and Poland, very proud of the boys❤️🇮🇹
I love watching this match over and over. It showcased the new Italian style of volleyball - suffocating defence, trap you into long rallies, then either attack or block. Seeing long rallies again was just a treat. And the stats at the end of the match showed that Italy won, not from their winners, but because of the errors they forced Poland to make. Di Giorgi (their head coach) is such a brilliant strategist.

This is your first time watching the match? Def take a look at the whole game, especially in sets 3 and 4 Balaso played the best game of his carreer with an outstanding defence. Great choice by coach De Giorgi to have him as a regular over Colaci who used to be the first pick for the national team - and still is an accomplished world class libero.
I would have loved to see him get the MVP title (if there is a match to show a great libero's value it is this) but it ended up going to Giannelli who to be fair really deserved it.

Hey Mr. Shoji I had a question: I want to play club volleyball and the coaches said I have enough skill to make one of the two teams (two locations), how can I become a better setter when I can't set very high?

This was such a frustrating moment, our lads were that close to make it 2:0 and get one step away from the third title in a row, but it went Italy's way after all... it was so sad.

Poland beat Italy in the Bronze VNL match not long before this. In the WC, Italy just seemed to steamroll over everybody while Poland struggled a little. Italy's young players had so much energy they were just all over the court, making big digs, blocking well, and slamming fast and short sets well. Poland kept the same lineup until they seemed like a sinking ship. I know they have younger and strong hard hitters who might have matched Italy's energy. Grbic needs to play around with the lineup a little more.

I was wondering if you’re a Libero where should you be on the court if there’s a hitter about to spike. If the hitter is in front of you and your blockers are there should you move up for a tip or move back to pick up a ball that went over the block? That probably didn’t make much sense lol.

I've got a question regarding your discussions with the Out of system Podcast about what ist the hardest Position. As your answer is always setter i'd like to know whether you think it is because the skill of setting the ball to a specific place is the hardest or the desicionmaking in where to set makes ist the hardest position.
As in my opinion the hardest skill itself ist reception.

For the play at 2:40 why is gianelli in middle back defense as the setter? Is it just a heat of the moment thing because it looks like michieletto waves him off.

Why is there only 1 Referee and no Line Judges?
Cuz we have technology now! They have a challenge system where you can ask to re watch a play or any violation committed. Every match has 2 referees.
@@abigail724 Are there unlimited challenges? Far back corner seems like its almost just a guess for the Referee sometimes. How often are plays challenged?
@@ChrisBerti you only have 2 challenges each set. If you challenge and got it right you will keep it but if you ask for a challenge and got it wrong you will lose it and only have 1 challenge system remain .
The other referee will assist the 1st referee and will be the one checking the video check for violation.
@@abigail724 Isn't that what the rule was before they got rid of the Line Judges? Seems wild to me, but It's cool that it works!
@@ChrisBerti now that they get rid of the line judges, you can have a challenge from a service line, in or out , a 3 m line, a net violation, a contrast video check for the last contact of the ball and etc.
since they’ve got more cameras and more video checks, line judges are kinda unnecessary now. The 1st referee can also ask for a video check or a challenge without taking any of the teams .
