Percuss on both sides anterior and posteriorly axillary ( rasonance sound) dull in case of effusions
Ausculation
Ausculate vascular and bronchial breath sounds
Look for wheeze and crepitus
Vocal resonance

Size and shape of the chest
Bilateral symmetry
Abnormal chest
Pigeon chest Rickets
Barrel shaped chest emphysema movement of chest
Stand on the right side of the patient and observe the rateof the patient

External intercostal muscle, abdominal muscle

Observe, disease of lungs of pleura, hypertrophy

Palpation:- a) Inspiratory and expiratory Chest circumference using measuring tape. AP Diameter
b) Chest Movement:- Bimanual examination. Check whether equal movement on both sides of hands with respiration. To be checked in all zones in chest & back.
c) Trachea positioning palpate. Look for trail sign
d) Position of Apex Beat:- Palpate 5th IC Space. Ulnar border to be placed; point finger on apex beat where maximum impulse felt.
e) Pulse/ RR ratio
f) TVF:- Using Ulnar border palpate at IC space bilaterally while patient says 1-1-1. Move hand to other side after every 1-1-1 series end. In both back and chest this is to be done.

In clavicle region we have to face left hand ✋ and do right middle finger with percusion is wrong kada sir . only doing with right finger directly is correct i am confused tell me right one sir

- pallor_paleness of skin.... Lower palpebral conjunctiva
- icterus- yellowish discoln of skin - sclera
- clubbing- swelling of soft tissue of nail bed- shammeroth window sign n angle between skin and nail bed
- cyanosis- bluish discoln of skin
Edema- accumulation of fluid in interstitial fluid
Lymphadenopathy- enlarged lymph nodes
1. Inspection_shape, symmatry, location of trachea, movement, apex beat if visible, scar
2. Palpation_ apex beat, shape, symm., movement, location of trachea, vocal fremitus
3.Percussion_ percuss all nine areas: dull or resonant sounds
4. Auscultation_ vocal resonance, breath sounds(bronchial n vesicular)

1. size and shape (bilaterally symmetrical) (elliptical in shape)
abnormal : pigeon shaped chest seen in rickets and barrel shaped chest seen in emphysema and copd
2. movement of the chest
- check respiratory rate (stand on the right side, see expansion of chest, say 16 /min
- rhythm (normal /abnormal)
-type of breathing (abdominothoracic in pregnant women and males)
-expansion of chest where anteriorly zyada or posteriorly or equal?
3. working of accessory muscles
if do: breathlessness , needing extra effort
ins scm, serratus, scapulae levator
exp int intercostal and abdominal
4. position of trachea (check deviation )
5. apex beat (felt)
(apical impulse: observed)
ppl w thin structure it can be observed.
Percussion - ant , post, axillary (resonant note)
Auscultation - 1/ air entry on both side A,p, axillary - breath in , out
2/ type of breathing - vesicular(whole lungs)/ bronchial sound(tracheobronchial tree)
3/ trachea & interscapular space
4/ abnormal sound - wheeze & crepitus
5/vocal resonance - 111 ausculate on both side
