Good review of this pack. Currently REI Outlet has this pack on clearance for $218.73. Thank you for the review, this video helped me confirm my purchase options for this pack. Cheers.
My Denali 100 broke some main straps after 5 years hard use. Very comfortable to carry heavy loads but the exterior attachment system is a lot better on other packs
This seem like a really good backpack for an expedition where one need to carry a heavy and bulky load! I will remember this pack if that type of trip is something I do in the future. For now, this isn't a pack that suit my needs, but it would be awesome if someday I would need it!
Very nice. I own the Gregory Baltoro and it is by far the best and most comfortable pack I own. I love their harness system. I do need to upgrade in size though, so the 100 looks like the ticket :)
I love Gregorys large side pockets they do a great job w that design but I can never figure out why they make all their packs with such narrow width shoulder straps. Really detracts from the comfort under heavy loads. Just a little wider would make these the best packs. Also I found some of their small buckles aren’t very strong.
I want to buy such a backpack for ski expeditions in the forest and mountains. I'm afraid that this backpack will swing like a pendulum on the way down the mountain. Has anyone had experience with this backpack and skis?
Trying to find info on getting this on a plane without much luck. Anybody have any ideas? I usually pack my smaller packs in a suitcase but this looks like it would exceed dimensions for flight. I appreciate any response. Thanks in advance.
You'd have to check this bag if you plan to fly with it. We'd recommend purchasing some type of airport-friendly duffel to protect the straps/extra bits on the outside from conveyor belt related incidents.
