    Recently got a perfume called folia which is centered on this scent, so finding your channel was a nice addition!

    I’ve never smelt Geosmin because it’s crazy expensive. It’s in my someday list just like real Oud and Ambergris. The wet dirt AC I own is Terrasol works well but needs to be really diluted down. Thanks for new content.

      I get that, that's why I only have a 4ml (1%) vial of Geosmin in my collection haha! I recently diluted my Terrasol down to 1% and it still lingers in my nose for a while after testing. You're very welcome, happy to be back.

      I buy it prediluted at 1% from Perfumers Apprentice. Cheap that way and a 15 ml bottle will last you ages. Its strong stuff. Even a 4ml bottle would last forever.

    Geosmin can be detected by humans in 1 ppm. Like smelling a single strand of hair 100 miles away.

      Right!? It is unbelievable how sensitive we are to Geosmin

      It's actually @ 200 put (parts per trillion) as in 1 teaspoon in 200 olympic sized swimming pools of water.

    Excellent except for your inaccurate pronunciation of 'geoscience its pronounced as "jeeozmine". Thanks mate.

    Can a very small amount be used in a candle?

    • @Whiffly
      @Whiffly  2 года назад

      I've read that it has been used in Candles, but I'm not familiar enough with Candle Making to give you definitive answer. I suggest check the MSDS of your supplier for a little more information about this chemical
