Just seeing these on RUclips after so many years (decades) reminds me that we had great tv as kids back then. Hearing the impersonations of iconic actors & stars that might not resonate with kids today but struck a chord with my generation as kids - nostalgic. Thanks for reminding me of these shows. I may see if they’re on BluRay/DVD for UK region (which will be a nice companion for my Banana Split set).
I think it's because character actors back in those days were far more distinct in their stage personas, though to be fair, those character actors were way before my time, so when I would watch cartoons (or in this case, Krofft shows) as a kid, it never occured to me that the characters' voices were meant to be impersonations of those actors. I know now Pufnstuf's voice was meant to be an impression of Jim Nabors (who I actually was familiar with, given THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW was a staple down here in the south), but given I was introduced to this show around the same time I was GREEN ACRES, I actually thought his voice was similar to that of Eb.
Boy, did i have a crush on Jack Wild back in the day...lol. HR PUFINSTUF and his portrayal of the Artful Dodger were two of my favorite roles of his...RIP Jack Wild
Wow--thanks so much for posting these. They were my favorite part of Saturday morning tv back in the day. Jack was so talented-and Billie Hayes, kid-tv’s funniest witch. She did everything at triple-speed 😂
The most maniacally brilliant scheme Witchy-poo ever had. Brainwash Jimmy into doing all the work stealing Freddy and just have Jimmy hand him to her. Too bad Puff was there because I would've love to have seen that work, and then just tell him to leave and walk back. I'd find it funny just because it's probably the simplest plan she ever had, compared to all her others, and it actually succeeded.
@@SidMartyKrofftPictures Oh yeah absolutely, gotta love her because Witchy poo's the best. All her plans are none the less entertaining from the wackiest to the simplest.
its so sad that jack wild died in the age of 53 we will miss you and care about you and i hope we will still see you on the videos wish you well jack wild/jimmy
we were on universal studios tour when this was filmed an had a funny japanese tour guide in the sound stage an witchypoos vroom broom was hanging in there on the cables very funny when he pronounced it

Fun fact: Charles Manson published a poem/ song lyrics called Mechanical Boy...then, Marilyn Manson turned it into a song. About a Mechanical Boy being used by higher powers.

Banana Splits were my favorites. The cartoon shorts were always great.
Witchiepoo and jimmy are the best characters in the show

Jimmy was one of my first crushes as well.
My favourite roles from Jack are also jimmy and dodger!
Ehat else was there, those 2 roles.
Mine and my Dads Favorite episode! Easily one of the best episodes in the H.R. Pufnstuf series
🤖
One of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons as a kid. Miss those days.
One of my favorite old time shows, still love it❤
More episodes on the way every week! 📺🥣
Witchiepoo is such an icon, such an inspiration. So sad I didnt have a legend like her as a role model growing up but better later then never right
Did you know that Billie Hayes, also played as Hoo Doo the Magician's genie ex-assistant, who helped Butch Patrick's character in Lidsville?
Witchiepoo will always be here for you! 💛💙💜💚🧡❤️️

this was without a doubt one of the most surrealistic tv shows from my youth. it's great that I can revisit the horror of it all.

She was onto such a good plan! But kets be honest... her wacky schemes were pretty fun too! 😂😂😂😂

I am a 90's baby millenial... I grew up on this stuff! Puf n Stuf, Lidsville, Bugaloos, Sigmund!!! :)
7:53 - This scene happens to be one of my favorites to be filmed before a live studio audience.
Awesome 😊

He is still with us every day with his wonderful acting, music and charisma!
Marty Krofft said this was his personal favorite episode, in no small part to Jack Wild's talent.
He was one of a kind
Canned laughter drives me nuts as an adult but never noticed it watching these shows back then.
Head to the zoom-broom!
Lol it was the "Vroom Broom" not 'zoom'. 🤷

Love these.
But wish you would post them in higher quality like 1080p or 4K.
😊
Naw, if anything I need to watch these on a CRTV to get the real experience. I miss those days.
This is one of the only Krofft shows to be done on film so it’s one of the few that could be shown in HD. Most of the others were shot on videotape.
This episode remains the fan's favorite, but I like the Shirley Puff n Stuff episode.
After seeing the show all these years later when I'm grown up I now realize I wasn't in a delirious State when I was watching it

I love Seymour's eyes. ❤ Anyone know if there is anything still existing of the costumes or sets?
