Part of why the marine armors are so colorful and saturated is that each chapter (subsect) of marines has its own heraldry and colors to identify each other. Ultramarines are a bright and saturated blue with bright gold trim, for intance, while Iron Hands are black with either no trim at all or a bright silver. They're proud of their heritage and make sure their armor shows that, even if it's entirely disadvantageous to them in combat.
There was an entry in either the Imperial Guard or Space Marine Codex that has a Space Marine telling an Imperial Guardsman essentially that they (Space Marines) wear the colors they do so that the enemy knows who killed them.
"The uniforms of the Imperial Guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight. The principle is that what the enemy cannot see he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine's armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear!" -Chaplain Aston, 10th Company, Firehawks Chapter
The mechs are actually more grimdark than you think. They're marines that have been maimed in battle and interred inside a coffin that can control the mech. They're called Dreadnoughts.
@@ChompStudio wait til u hear this next bit: dreadnought houses space marine that was inches away from death, now they're stuffed into a walking sarcophagi and told to keep fighting forever and when they're not in battle, they're usually being put to sleep, only to wake up fighting again, until they meet their ultimate demise
On the color saturation/desaturation, Ultramarine Blue is a very specific color and hardcore fans will loose their stuff if the Space Smurfs aren't the right color. Astartes has the advantage of not being that chapter so they can play with the color palette a bit more. The "small" mechs are called Dreadnoughts.
@@ChompStudio there are other 1000 chapters with different colour schemes, some are tactical while some are more bold. some are black while others are greys and others are bright colours.
The 10th edition trailer (the one with the space marines fighting the bugs (tyranids)) is meant to be packed with shots of figures that represent lots of new models that were coming out. So while it's a bit busy to watch as a standalone thing, we loved it when it came out as we were taking stills from every unit to figure out what new models we were getting.
That point you made about the horus heresy trailer's use of depth of field making it look like the tabletop is pretty fitting considering it is a trailer for the tabletop 😄
Ha.....well then that totally makes sense. Im still learning about this world, and now I know from the comments that some of these trailers are for shows, and other are for the tabletop game...pretty cool!
The reason for the pause in 6:25 is because those Tyranids are known as Psychophages. They are known to any prey organisms, however they favor prey with psychic abilities the most. That Psyker in the eyes of the Psychophages essentially was like hearing the bell that tells when food is ready
My favorite thing about Warhammer animations is that every single detail, no matter how much it may seem like a non factor, is somebody’s favorite thing in 40k and they can tell you every single thing about why it’s important.
The giant walking tank is called a Dreadnought, which is essentially a mortally wounded marine interred in a coffin that is wired to the walker machine. "Even in death I still serve" is a common quote from the 'dawn of war' series of games, and it's true in this universe.
I think the reason we don't see the Marines face in Parhia Nexus is because he's from the Salamanders chapter, and showing his face would be a massive spoiler for the series to new people watching it.
@@ChompStudio Regarding him being taller than the Space Marines, he is what's known as a Primarch. One of the twenty sons of the Emperor Of Mankind whose genes are used to enhance the Astartes of their legion to their superhuman strength. The power level difference between Primarch and typical Astartes is like that of Grown Man and Child. One Primarch (The guy speaking in the 10th Edition Trailer) whose specialities does not lie in combat prowess survived being ambushed by twelve Astartes while Unarmed, Unarmored, and surrounded.
When it comes to the blues and gold trims, you have to remember that these armors have a very.... regal, style to them. Space Marines are actually rare amongst humans, they have the best weaponry and armor. Their Father and Emperor is now considered a GOD, and they are his sons, his angels. Their style resembles their station, Angels of "God". Wait until you see the Adeptus Custodes.....
@@ChompStudioyeah they have a similar role to medieval knights in that you know where they are at all times on a battlefield, if you are an ally then seeing massively Armoured soldiers in bright colours fighting on your side must be a hell of a morale booster, if you are the enemy then it's very obvious who is going to kill you.
@@hardcorelace7565in medieval warfare it also served the purpose of making it more likely that you’ll be ransomed instead of killed, the more wealthy you looked the more money you have, though I don’t think that really plays a role in 40k…
@@russellfisher1303yep, an astartes would rather die than be ransomed or used to the ends of the enemies of the emperor. Reference the Raven Guard who was being interrogated by a group of tau, who then proceeded to by sheer force of will stop both his hearts and take a handful of his interrogators with him. What’s funny is it established to rule in the Tau that the Astartes could not be turned towards their cause.
The sunset shots in Horus Heresy are absolutely my favorite cinematically. You mentioned Dune as a vibe, but I absolutely got some Apocalypse Now kinda vibes from it, with the seemingly handheld camera, the out of focus moments, and of course, the sunset itself. I absolutely loved it.
Helsreach is another single person Warhammer animation. I'd love to see someone with a designer background go through Helsreach. It's a visual effects thesis, an absolute masterpiece. I don't want to give too much away but essentially the entire visual aspect of the project is a storytelling meta-effect based on the main character. The voice-audio is largely taken from the audiobook of the novel. It's in 13 parts, and the effect is lost a little if you don't know which part you're watching, so it's best on the first go-through to not watch the combined version. I *cannot* overstate what an amazing piece of work it is.
not sure if anyone mentioned the "walker machine mech-guy" Is called a Dreadnought. "The pilots within Dreadnoughts are Marines who have suffered mortal wounds in battle, maimed and crippled beyond recovery - instead of being mercifully killed, the greatest heroes are instead given what is considered the honour of continuing to serve the Emperor past their normal life. Once interred within the Dreadnought, the Marine cannot leave the metal womb and is destined for a life of endless battle until destroyed." they tend to be thousands of years old
@@ChompStudio I highly recommend that you check out the Dawn of War 3 announcement trailer. The game was a let down, but the trailer was a masterpiece. It is abstract and dreamlike in its presentation, but you get a feel for how Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar would be like from the point of view of someone living in the 40K setting. Looking at the tabletop hobby from our perspective, Orks are pretty fun guys based on english football hooligans, just making a racket and having the time of their lives when they are fighting. But in the cinematic they are presented as terrifying brutes, uncaring and beastlike. The Eldar were basically 80s glam rock space elves (40K had its first concept art in the late 70s IIRC, but crystalized into its thing in the 80s), but they feel much more alien in the cinematic. If you know of the late polish painter and artist Zdzisław Beksiński (who's art was oftentimes nightmarish) you will see the influence from his work in the cinematic, especially in the textures of the Eldar armor and the construct they are jumping out of.
So as it's been stated by a few others already, the giant guy in blue armor at 07:45 as well as the angry looking mother fucker at 09:45 are Primarchs, Robute Guilliman and Horus Lupercal respectively. Basically The God Emperor of Man had 20 sons created from his own genes to be generals and leaders with him to usher mankind into a new prosperity. Due to lore reasons, aka Games Workshop thought giving 2 legions no background to act as "Insert your own" legions was a good idea, 2 of the sons are expunged from all records and in books it was even hinted that if the primarchs ever mentioned them there would be trouble. Going back to the Horus Heresy at 07:55, that cinematic is set during one of the biggest events in warhammer, where Horus Lupercal, then corrupted by Chaos, led 8 other primarchs in a coup against the imperium, lots more lore there. But yeah those guys being so much bigger than the normal space marine, it's basically like you at 10 standing next to your father, odds were you would look very short too lol.
Abbadon the Despoilers (the tall Space marine you mentioned) are uncharacteristically tall for a Space Marine, closer to the size of a Primarch. In full power armor, a Space Marine can move faster than a regular human eye can perceive. A regular human eye can perceive speeds around 900km/h at the absolute limit. Space Marines, fully armed and armored, CAN MOVE FASTER THAN THAT. Worst part is that the Primarchs, the guys that the regular Space Marines are based on, could move so fast SPACE MARINES couldn't perceive their movements. Which is just wild. The guy with the laurels on his head in one of the other trailers is a Primarch. As for Sizes among Space marines; Space Marine: 8-9ft average, with some outliers Primaris Marines: 9-10 average, Custodes, 10-11 average, Primarchs. 8-12. Special note. The Primarchs ranged wildly in physical stature and appearance and so the average among them would be around 9-10. The smallest was Alpharius which was within the average of a regular Space Marine, while Vulcan was standing an impressive 11'8. Magnus is an outlier here as his size and appearance appears to be in flux, suggesting he might have inherited a certain ability from the Emperor. Speaking of... The Emperor of Mankind: The dudes a god-damn shape-shifter, he's described as small as 5'11 in one part, then towering 14ft later on. Likewise, the details of his appearance seem to be on a per-person basis. So one person might perceive him as blonde, while another might see him having black hair. Giving an exact size, is as such impossible due to the fluid nature of his physiology. The body that is interred on the golden throne is about 14ft, however. Give or take.
But.. thats Horus, not abbadon :/ Horus was a primarch, thats why hes so large next to the other marines, true Abby is still a large astartes but not primarch size.
13:00 Service Studs. They're either silver (representing 10 or 50 years) or gold (representing 100 years) showing how long he has served his chapter, I believe
So out of these Trailers, Iron within and The Exodite are already out in full over on Warhammer's personal streaming service, Warhammer+. Pariah Nexus is meant to be coming soon, Astartes 2 has been in production for atleast 2 years now, so it's probably still some years away but GW are being very close lipped about it. The Horus Heresy and the New Edition trailers aren't trailers for shows, they're cinematic adverts for the newest editions of their respective tabletop games. New rules, so new trailer is generally how it works. There is hope they'll be adapted into a show at some point, as Pariah Nexus is an adaptation of the Previous Edition's Trailer.. As far as production goes. The exodite, Iron within and Astartes were all fan made animations, Games workshop hired those fans and they're now making animations for their streaming service. They don't disclose who's working on what, but the current consensus is that the Astartes creator worked on the New Edition trailer while Astartes 2 has been put on the backburner for the time being.
Stoked to see someone else enjoying the grimdarkness of the far future, totally evident in the energy you throw towards it, love it! Astartes is #1 in the fans hearts, #2 would probably be Helsreach. Unfortunately Helsreach is just drawn but it was just one dude as well and by far one of the best elements pertaining to the grit we hold so dear in our fandom. Highly recommend, getting to see such a wonderful story unfold just as much as the artists potential come to life is gripping. 10/10
6:30 so that beacon is to teleport larger space marines into battle. Relics from the Age of Technology, they’re called Terminator armor. They can’t keep up with regular space marines who can move RIDICULOUSLY fast for their size, Terminators are often teleported in from the space marine dropship in low orbit. It’s called a Lightning Strike, and so long as a planet or enemy ship doesn’t have void shields, a teleportation move like that can jump extremely tanky units directly into combat.
Another great one. Those blue armoured Astartes are from a Chapter/Legion XIII called the Ultra Marines. You even encountered their Primarch (Father), Roboutte Guilliman. He was the character in the strategy room, seeking guidance kneeling before his sword, & wearing the laurels on his head (Warhammer 40k new edition trailer). They have been GW's Marine goodie two shoes poster boys for YEARS! But they have obtained a nickname that if you want to get in well with the GW audience I suggest you start using. The Ultra Marines have got the nickname of, The Ultra-Smurfs. Roboutte is known as either Poppa-Smurf, or something like Rowboat Girlyman. I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend & much love to all from here in the UK
Warhammer is vast, not just in the ways you are thinking of but also in genres. As such, there is actually a lot of comedy in specific parts. Most notably, much of the greenskins has an undertone of comedy to them.
The Ultramarines armor being impractically bright blue and decked-out in over-polished gold is entirely normal and in-character behavior of them. They're the poster boys both in-universe and out, and they have egos to match. If you need a stealth mission handled, you call somebody else.
The Horus Heresy was 10,000 year prior to the current setting. Those big walkers are Titans and there are few of them today that there were then. That beacon is a teleport scanner sorta, is scans the terrain around it to allow the marine to teleport accurately. That initial marine was running to defend it as it can take some time to get ready. Those green boyos are the Necrons the most powerful faction (technologically) in the setting and are old (60 million years old), they fought wars, yes wars plural, against literal gods, won, lost, won, then lost again, they had a long nap and have just woke up. The only thing stopping them becoming the dominate force is that they are few in number but we've only seen a few tomb worlds (where they were napping).
@@ChompStudio And those weren't really the big boys. What was predominant in the video, were Warlord class titans, averaging around 120 ft tall. The larger ones, usually only seen on Terra or Mars or when something absolutely horrific happens, are the Emperor Class titans, standing 180 to 200 ft tall according to lore. The only that tends to stop them is either dozens of other titans or ship weapons. They can one shot everything you saw in this video and have city-scale weaponry as well as a full company of troops. One thing to keep in mind, the ships and the walkers you saw have a 'soul' that people are talking to and the older or more notable the item, the more powerful that soul is.
I think these all look promising. Astartes is a tough reference point, since it's so excellent at delivering 40k's fantastic universe in an almost tactile way. You feel the weight of the space marine's steps and each laser blast is a devastating explosion. This also carries on in the audio design. Newer projects likely cannot take as much time and go into as much detail. There are also just different visions and styles. What kinda bothered me the most was seeing Horus stabbing another space marine with his energy claws. I think the effects should show off why that is possible with energy claws i. e. what kinda power is required to pierce their ridiculous tank armor. Then there is also like story stuff like space marines just facing off tyranids in ways that will clearly get them killed even though they are actually quite skilled fighters... or the eldar hover bikes just flying towards a line of imperial guns that can clearly just pick them off.
I mean my guess on why a lot of these trailers are so vibrant and saturated with color is because it helps reflect the physical tabletop game and how you can paint your armies in a variety of colors, so it helps connect fiction with reality to me at least. There's an in-universe reason too, at least for space marines: They are proud warriors, and just like how medieval knights carry the livery of their house the space marines carry the colors of their brotherhoods into battle. *"Camouflage is the colour of fear... I have no need to hide from my foes... I have no fear of death. My colours I wear openly, they proclaim louder than any words, "I am proud to live - I am proud to die"."* - Carab Culln of the Red Scorpions
Someone will probably explain it more detailed, but I can at least give you the cliff notes for the Horus Heresy. The emperor created 18 sons to lead his new space marine legions back in 29K. Using the power of the warp, he tricked the chaos gods to create them…mini versions of himself that all excess at something to make them unique. The chaos gods, feeling robbed by the emperor using their power, flung all 18 children to the farthest corners of the imperium. They all grew up on different planets with different experiences, and because they’re mini versions of the emperor they’re all super strong and aged into adulthood quickly. Eventually the emperor found all 18 of his sons, and recruited them into The Great Crusade where they’d lead their space marine legions to take back all the planets humanity lost when the AI revolted a few thousand years ago. Every space marine was part of a legion, which gave them the gene seed of the primarch (one of the emperor’s sons) that led them. This gave them not only immense powers above the average man, but also gave them the specialization that the primarch specialized in. So if you’re a White Scar space marine, you, like your father, have an inclination towards speed and rushing into combat. If you’re a salamander, you value fire and protecting civilians. This gene seed gave the space marines not only incredible power and abilities, but also a bond to their primarch. They were like their father, and the loyalty ran extremely deep. Eventually, Horus, the favorite son and WarMaster for the Emperor, gained a vision by the Chaos Gods who wanted to manipulate him. They showed a future where the emperor was viewed as a God and all the secrets the emperor his from his sons. In a rage he converted half of the 18 primarchs to join him in overthrowing the emperor. They all had an axe to grind with him, and were easily swayed once the option to get their father out of the way became viable. And that was the start of the 9-year long event known as the Horus Heresy in 30K. The events and outcome would change the universe of 40K forever.
I swear that i do not want to be nitpicky... but there was originally 20 sons/Primarchs. the 2nd and the 11th are both redacted from the histories of the Imperium and there are small tidbits of evidence that suggest that "Leman Russ" the Wolf King, one of the Primarchs also known as the "Emperor's Executioner" had actually moved against them and likely killed them under the command of the Emperor for reasons unknown. This also plays into the fact that maybe the reason why there are so many ultramarines is because they had likely absorbed one if not both of the other censured/disbanded legions.
The reason the two Psychophages pause and look up when the Psyker (40k sorcerer) shows up is that they primarily EAT psykers in order to generate special toxins. So him showing up was like walking in to a birthday party with a huge cake
I know in a lot of their media they intentionally make their characters look a bit like their table top figures but I hate it. If they have a whole subscription based streaming service they should take from astartes popularity and go for the realistic look since a streaming service is now more than just the table top.
the huge monster guy in armor is horus lupercall , a primarque ( literally an astartes directly made from the genetics of the emperor) son of the "emperor" we are hearing about quite often. he's also the one who bring about the horus heresy where he fell into chaos and attack the imperium of mankind. ( around 30th millennia when the games are around the 41th millennia)
Yes, that is a teleport beacon, used mainly by Terminator squads to instant reinforce with their HEAVY armour. A suit of Terminator armour is like wearing a main battle tank :P The minigun that one is carrying is an Assault Cannon, which fires standard 30mm solid slugs at 100+ rounds per second. The twin barreled gun underslung on one's arm is called a Storm Bolter, which is basically a double-barreled boltgun which is mounted mainly on Terminators and tanks due to it's heavy recoil. That "Thor" guy is a Chapter Librarian, basically a Space Marine psyker who has trained for years to control his power without succumbing to the horrors of the Warp. They generally don't wear full helmets in combat, instead using a psychic hood to help protect their minds from external threats and augment their own power. The big blond guy with laurels on his head is one of the few surviving Loyalist Primarchs, Roboute Guilliman of the Ultramarines. Stabbed in the neck by a poisoned blade wielded by his former brother Fulgrim (now a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh), he was placed in a stasis field for the next 10000 years. Now in the 41st millennium, Belisarius Cawl has restored him with a special suit of power armour engineered to heal his wounds, and he is now acting regent for his father The Emperor after the events of the 13th Black Crusade that split the Imperium in half (literally, a huge line of warp storms called the Great Rift has physically isolated one half of the galaxy from the other).
I'd have to say that the variety of color palettes in the Roboute Guilleman "Victory" video is simply keeping true to form with those from the tabletop games played with miniatures, where distinct color sets both by race and type are often the clearly defining characteristic on a board full of miniatures. Along the way, these have come to be quite distinct, with various colors of energy weapons and related palettes tend to be representative, or at least have certain association depending on other factors: like those green blasts of energy we all associate with Necrons, for example. Since the video covered so many different battles with different types of enemies in different environments, I think they were trying to keep it consistent with what players expect. Yes, they probably could have desaturated it some, but perhaps this is their "Speed Racer" to the Astartes' "Matrix"?
That mech that came in and killed the big tyranid was called a dreadnought they are warmachines controlled by a mortally wounded space marine that is forever bound inside its sarcophagus to pilot it until death because for a dreadnought pilot Even in death they still serve
The huge guy you were commenting about being twice as big as the marines is Horus Lupercal, the arch traitor. He's one of the original 20 primarchs, the primogenitors of the Astartes. They were all crafted to be unique demigods that would lead the armies of Humanity during the Emperor’s Great Crusade. I love seeing new people discover this universe.
The character from the Space Marine 2 trailer was the main character from the first game, back from the Inquisitions` likely years, if not decades-long, interrogation over his resistance to Warp fuckery.
A Propos The Horus heresy The "Man" Speaking is, well Horus himself. One of the Emperor's Sons, the Primarchs, 20 geneticly engineered Beings from the Emperror's Own genetic material. Primarchs where the Emperor's Top Diplomates and Military leaders, each was at the Head of a Legion of Space Marines. With each commanding a Large Fleet and Imperial Army(whom will be later re-organised as the Imperial Guard) and would go from Planet to Planet to Liberate Human colonies lost long ago during the Age of Strife and the Dark Age of Technology( so somewhere between 18th millenia and 25th millenia) to bring them back into the Imperial fold and be part of the Imperium of Humanity. Now each Primarch, was actually abducted and scattered by the Chaos Gods to prevent the Emperor to achieve his grand Design, each Primarch thrown into the literal cosmos in their infancy and landing on a Planet. Despite this, the Emperor's work on the primarchs genetic material was enough for him to create the 1st Founding of Astartes, the 1st Space Marines Legions, also called Primogenitors. One Legion per Primarch, using the genetic material of each primarch to build them into their Primarchs image. The Emperor( wich we will call Big E for simplicity's sake) launched the Great crusade, to reconquer the Stars and bring back lost colonies and find the Primarchs. After some time he would find the Primarchs, each of them due to their Demi-God status, became the leader of the societies and civilisations that took them in, either through brute force, Cunning, or Diplomacy. When meeting his sons Big E gave them each the command of their Space marines Legions, and started recruiting new recruits amongst the population of their "Home worlds", making them effectively the Legion's Homeworld. Now Each primarchs grew up and where influenced by the cultures and people they've grew up with, and despite being genetic Brothers and considerign BIG E as their Father, they where as much strangers to one another than they would be brothers. SOme where so different to one another in their ways, that they could barely stand each others presence if it wa not for Big E's authority. The Great Crusade was slowly raching the end of its pirpose, when nearly the Whole Milky Way Galaxy was under Imperial Control, and His Sons and Legions where making good progress without his oversight being needed, he decide to go back to Terra(earth) and finish his biggest Project and gift to Humanity. He named his 1st Son and favorite, Horus, as the Warmaster of the Imperium's armies, leaving the Great Crusade in his hands. But things beign what they are and 40k being what it is, things would sooner or later Hit the Fan and spread some T H I C C shit all around... A Scheme was put in place by the Traitor Erebus from the Word Bearer's Legion, to influence Horus and through some scheming would make Horus suspicious of the Emperor and his plans. Feeding Horus paranoia after afailed attempt at diplomacy with a Human settlement and using his own Ego against him, Horus fell to the whispers of the Dark Gods of Chaos. Becoming their Champion, using scheming and cunning to raly 9 of the Primarchs behind his cause and provoked the Civil War that would have devastating repercussions even 10.000 years later for the Imperium and the whole galaxy, the Horus Heresy... Aftr this Civil war ended, Half of Humanities Forces where either annihilated or declared Heretics, the Heretics all fled to the Space Anomaly called "the Eye of Terror", a gigantic permanent Warp Storm where the Warp and the real space would merge and mingle. Horus was ultimatly killed by the Emperor and the Emperor was left fataly wounded by Horus. BIG E was placed in emergency on the Golden Throne on Terra, a gigantic Device tat was supposed to be Big E's goft to Humanity, now became a life extending device. Since he was enthroned 10.000 years ago the Emperor as sat immobile, slowly rotting away and being barely kept alive as long that he's fed 1000's Psyker's souls a day, emetting a Powerful psychic Beacon that can be seen in the Warp, and that serves as a Lighthouse light for ships to set a course through the Warp and not lose their way. To this day the Heretics and traitors who rebelled against the Emperor 10.000 years ago are still active, since in the Eye of Terror time is flowing slowly or even backwards. The Traitors re-organised into Warbands in service of the Chaos Gods or their own desires and Greed, raiding the Imperial worlds, spreading death and destruction onto the Inhabitants of the material univers. They are called Chaos Space Marines, or Traitor Astartes, and they are the Biggest thorn in the side of the Imperium.
The guy on the horus heresy trailer, and the "victory" guy on the 10th edition trailer are primarchs, fuck ton of lore about them, but the main thing is that they lead their own legion of space marine
The walking Mech you saw in the 10th Edition Trailer opening fire on the Aliens and getting overwhelmed if a Dreadnought. Essentially a weaponized life support. When an Astartes gets injured to the point where continuing battle is not possible but they still technically have a pulse they can be interred into one of these Dreadnoughts which will keep them alive, sealed in an amniotic sac behind several inches of metal. When not in battle they're kept in stasis for decades or sometimes centuries at a time, often waking up each time to find all their former comrades have long since passed because keeping a Dreadnought active is extremely draining on the body (or what remains of it) and can sometimes drive an Astartes mad from the overexertion-
the big guy you saw during the horus heresy clip is Horus, one of the Primarch, the first, the EMPERORS SONS. even if this one betrayed him and caused him to be bound to the golden throne
Something to you have to consider about the spacemarines is they are very much suppose to be a grimdark scifi version of Medieval knights. It's why their armor is super colorful, as well as being extremely ornamental with gold everywhere which would obviously have no practical function.
@@ChompStudio in their lore they are basically treated like living gods. It's why in the spacemarine 2 trailer the trooper guy calls them angels because most people in their life time will never see a spacemarine themselves but will hear about their feats.
@@BaeBunnidecorating your armor with gold and stuff did have a practical purpose in medieval times, besides just flexing on the peasants it also displayed your wealth to your enemies, making them more likely to capture and ransom you instead of sticking a dagger in your dangly bits.
13:00 Silver stud - 50 years, golden stud - century. Titus has four golden studs = 4 centuries of service. BTW I belive in first game "Space Marine" he had only two studs, which mean that Space Marine 2 actions took two centuries later
So I’m answer to how these animations are done a lot of the warhammer plus animated shows started life as fan projects until gw hired them, the Exodite and iron within are two examples but there’s more. Gw also hired the creator of astartes to work with them, it’s unknown what they do now but the speculation is that astartes 2 is no longer happening and the guy works as part of gw’s in house animation studio who produce the 10th edition trailer, horus heresy trailer, and pariah nexus. Space marine 2 trailer was likely given by saber interactive to an independent animation studio at gw’s direction as that seems the norm for most game trailers.
The "Giant robot boy" was a Dreadnaught. Essentially a space marine who's still 'alive', but lacks the ability to physically move, is placed inside one of those walking behemoths and directly hooked up to the machines sensors/computers.. essentially turned into a Bio-mech that is 'shut down' / 'put to sleep' between missions, so that they may continue to serve the god-emporor even after their body fails them. The "Beacon" taht was placed down, did allow for a site-to-site Teleport, and the Marines that showed up were the middle-ground between the regular marines, and that walking behemoth you saw. Called Terminators, they are essentially walking tanks. Space-marines armed with the same weapons you'd find on small vehicles or as secondary weapons on larger tanks, with much thicker armor than a regular space-marine.
My intro to warhammer 40k was when I played Dawn Of War back in the day. I had no idea what was going on, but it was fun. So I looked it up and found a Wiki of it... and lost myself for hours and hours. Its really interesting and cool.
Some of the official Games Workshop cinematics are meant to really look like the tabletop game which is why it's a bit more cartoony, the proportions are a bit weirder and so on. The Horus Heresy cinematic is one of them but it is still my favorite because Horus is damn cool. But I also generally prefer the more realistic style we see in Astartes and the Space Marine game. I like it when they take more inspiration from the artwork rather than the tabletop models, the detail is just so much greater. I don't mind the colors not being saturated since their colors are kind of like medieval heraldry. Medieval movies and sci-fi movies tend to end up being way too desaturated and gray in my opinion. In history knights and samurai and everyone in ebtween loved colors and extreme detail, the more colors and golden threat you used for your cloth the richer and more pwoerful you appeared so knights shouldn't be too gray. Same with sci-fi that uses the same themes like Warhammer and Dune. Though the Dune movies have gone for the modern desaturated look which I'm not that big of a fan of. It lessens the difference between the great houses and the fremen alot. The fremen should be the desaturated desert-colored people blending into the environment, but the great houses should wear their heraldry like a medieval royal family. The Sardaukar should be decorated like gladiators just to instantly show their status. In the movies most people don't even know who the sardaukar are, they look like everyone else. Not a fan of that kind of sci-fi.
@@ChompStudio Bloody hope so! I've recently been binging the shows on WH+ and it's gunna be nice to see some critique. The quality is a little inconsistent on some of the 3D animations but the style on the 2D animations are all really nice.
Regarding their armour, it might help to think of marines not as ultra modern special forces, but like medieval knights whose arms and heraldry show their history and alliegience (as well as often details about their own achievements if you look close enough). This has at least one practical purpose in addition to the pride the asartes have in their lineages - each chapter fights and thinks differently - and chapters drawn from different progenitor legions fight VERY differently. Being able to instantly identify chapter markings gives imperial and other astartes commanders an idea of what unfamiliar astartes encountered in the field may do in a given situation - salamanders will prioritise minimiaing civ casulaties and securing population centres even to the detriment of their own position and other objectives. Black templars are going to charge right down the foe's throat, etc.
In the Horus Heresy trailer, the person that was so much taller than the space marines is Horus, a primarch. The Emperor created them as genetic clones/sons of his own dna, likewise the space marines are genetic clones/sons of the primarchs. So if the emperor is the original, primarchs are a facet of him, and the space marines are a facet of primarch, or a facet of a facet of the emperor himself.
Love my blueberry bois, but TBH my favorite colors are those of the Dark Angels. Dark Forest Green for standard armored troops, and Bone White for the Deathwing Terminators.
Okay for back ground the estimate for an Astaries is 7-9ft tall where the average human in wh40k is roughly from 4'11 to just over 6ft. Primarchs the originators of the Astarties are roughly from 9'11" in height to about 14' (that being Vulcan). Big E (emperor of mankind) is said to be between 14' to 19/20' FT in height (depending on edition and depiction). Astarties also know as Space Marines are Genetical and surgically altered Humans. From the the Astarties film you reacted to the being that was kneeling/praying was a Adeptus Mechanicus Priest that was corrupted by another God apposed to Big E their name is Tzeentch (I assume is what corrupts the Adeptus Priest). It was either that OR a C'tan shard (A race of machines from even before the existence of Humans or any ancestry)
Juggernauts is one of my favorite beings in Warhammer. Their lives and creation is so dark and lonely but still somehow I feel that humans would made those in same situations.
Going away from the in-game and in-universe logic of the colours and armours, you might find the video Historian & Armor Expert Reacts to Warhammer Arms & Armor on the GameSpot channel fun - it's really interesting to see how someone who really knows about actual historical knights considers Space Marine armour including colours and decorations to be in line with what a space-knight would be! Plus you can get a good look at some of the other factions/races armours, too
I love seeing people that have no idea about Warhammer seeing Warhammer for the first time lol. I think my favorite trailer is the Sister and the Necron fighting with the Ultramarines coming in later.
The colors of the armor for Space Marines and their Flair can be explained away if you think about it as Noble Knights dawning the color of their House or Lord's heraldry who are in turn in service to the higher King in a way. There is obviously inspiration with Medieval Knights Warhammer 40K was originally conceived as a science fiction spin-off of Warhammer Fantasy so it's a good but weird mix of a lot of things and ideas that blend well overall.
Sodaz (an animator) did an amazing fan animation about the Death Korps, featuring combined arms warfare with an actual cavalry charge. He's also done a 25 minute Halo fan animation, a 14 minute S.T.A.L.K.E.R animation AND is working on an amazing Fallout animation about the attack on Helios 1. 100% recommend his work. The Death Korps video had to be removed due to Games Workshop and them seeing fans as competition.
Next react to the Lord Inquisitor. Or if you want to see what imo is the best game trailer for a warhammer game yet "Mark of Chaos" intro a warhammer fantasy video
the only thing that the shorts on warhammer tv seem to lack is good eye animation and some facial animations. It creates an uncanny valley look to a lot of the characters. It's in stark comparison to the great voice acting. I get that rigging this is a lot of extra work but it would make a big impact if they addressed this.
Agree.....humans are always tricky....but if you hide those faces, or do an abstract style like Arcane on Netflix...you can get a way with it more easily in my opinion.
Im glad you are also pointing out things that could be done better :) I hate it when somebody who is supposedly an expert or somebody knowledgeable in the field just reacts to things and constantly praises it as if it was perfect, like they are an ordinary fan, thats kinda pointless, the main reason why I tune in for something like this is that I can get a different perspective, I can be gushing over things myself :D feel free to go into detail, explaining whats going on in different parts, how the frames look, whats done well what could be better, its really interesting to go deeper and learn how these things are put together :)
the big guy in the horus heresy video was Horus himself, he is a Primarch, which are like the 'fathers' of the space Marines, Primarchs are where space marines get their Geneseeds from, it's what makes them super human, so the primarchs are even bigger and more powerful by far then regular space marines, if space marines are super soldiers, then Primarchs are literal Demi gods, the Emperor of Mankind was even bigger then the primarchs, all the primarchs were born from his DNA, their were 20 primarchs initially who had their own legions of space marines with unique abilities and styles, including for example, the Space wolves legion led by Leman Russ (space viking werewolves), the Ultramarines (your standard blue boy marines led by Roboute Guilliman (the blonde guy talking in the third trailer), the Lunar wolves who eventually become the Black legion one of the main Chaos space marine legions their Primarch is Horus himself. Space marines on average are 8ft tall, Primarchs on Average are 12ft tall, and Horus was in terminator armor the biggest and strongest space marine armor which increases his size and height by at least a few feet
This is just scratching the surface once you get into the lore, specially "The Horus heresy" (30K) you're going to want to be making these movies yourself. Edit: Also look for "Hellsreach"
The dude with the claws and the red underlight on his face: Is the primarch HORUS: the traitor / the heretic and he about 5 meter tall almost 2x a space marine. The horus heresy is the story of a bright future were the legions conquer the galaxy and the fall of that dream into darkness its 58 books of awesome stories. And most images looked like the siege of Terra, another 6 books. If you like warhammer 40k the horus heresy in audio books are really good.
I don't know if you've seen it yet but you've got to react to the "Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Armouring Ritual Cinematic Trailer" I think you'd like it.
12:43 Some people prob pointed that out before, but the reason he calls them *"His Angels",* is because Space Marines are basically seen as Imperial propaganda throughout the Galaxy, they are so rarely seen by the common populace, you can live up to a century and never see one, because they're only sent to the absolute worst of the warzones even the most specialist Imperial Guard Regiments can't handle (and believe me, they already handle ALOT), so it comes from the mythos that *"The Emperor's Angels come from the sky, and deliver His wrath unto His enemies"* because Space Marines usually deploy from massive drop pods that drop from their ships high in space right in the heat of battle.
I kinda want you to do one at a time and really focus down, but this is great for being able to see all in one hit a range of factions and chapters. Most cinematics are going to have maybe four maximum, more likely two. But here we got to see many, plus huge range of equipment
I like this idea. Maybe with some of the longer shows like Iron Within...we can do something with that?? It would be fun to sit down with the longer content.
space marines are not often blue it's just that the chapter that gets the most screen time in things are the ultramarines and their chapter is indeed blue
The warhammer boys are mainly blue, that is a controversial statment, I will heartily recommend giving Bricky's "Every Single Warhammer Space Marine Legion in a Nutshell" a view if you want to know more about the different legion. It is a long video, 40 minutes. And is more of a background knowledge thing, the same goes for Bricky's Every single Warhammer 40k (WH40k) Faction Explained, which are in two parts, both running 50+ minutes. That, of course, is if you want some knowledge of the universe in general. (The blue boys are the poster childs of the space marine, and tend to be the ones given most media attention)
As you are on a 40k binge. I would recommend Death of hope part 1 Anarchy Reigns a Heresy Period short by SparksArtifex R-rated and has the grim dark turned up to 11. A fan-made animation made some years ago.
6:01 you were close. It's a beacon for teleporting. Basically, how teleporting works for humans is a little inaccurate so to not end up scattered all over the place (or in a wall) they can use a teleporter homer so they can be pin point with getting people in. Some armor also has that function which allows them to act as a marker for others trying to teleport in or to get the wearer back to the ship. I don't know about the Warhammer + stuff but with gaming I think it's on the game company to make the cinematics. Games Workshop isn't the one making these games, which is something I think people forget but that's a pet peeve of mine. They are just licensing out the IP with stipulations so in the case with Space Marine 2, I'm pretty sure Saber is the one in charge of making or hiring someone to make their trailers. Like in the case of Dawn of War 3, Sega took over form THQ to make that game, but Blur Studios did the opening cinematic for it. The Space marine 2 trailer was a bit weird for me though. Don't get me wrong I like it, but they get really small details like the soldiers having purple eyes so you know they are from Cadia. Which shows some real care and knowledge of the franchise, but the scene here 11:43 were the gaunts back off when they see the space marines is just weird. Like how nids work is the little guys are under a psychic web of control put out by the big guys with the swords. it's so pervasive that the little gaunts will do things like throw themselves into gears to prevent a gate from closing without hesitation. They can't react to fear in that state so seeing them back off is just wrong. I get the idea form a narrative perspective. You want to show these Ultramarines are a threat so you have the little people act scared of them. But it's like the most anti nid thing to do. Still, it's a small moment. doesn't ruin anything it's just weird that everything else is so on the nose but they did that.
Agents of Death Orgins Kill Command is a great video to watch its apart of the Angels of Death show on Warhammertv and of course this video is free on RUclips. This series is about the blood angels which are my favorite legion especially because of something called the black rage. It is a very cool struggle that goes on throughout the whole of these blood angels and these marines are then put into the Death Company waiting to die honorably in death of battle or just being executed because they have gone out of control with rage.
Can't really say there is a lot of blue in the space marine chapters. Ultra marines are very blue tho, Blood angels red, Grey knights, well you can guess :p Point is Each marine chapter can be distinguished on the battlefield just through their colours.
each legion has there own color for each chapter.. so we can tell what chapter is being played in table top game. also at one time we had all chapter on good side then some broke of to chaos legion or chapters. so at start we had 20 legion 2 went missing and some went to chaos side. so each legion has different color for space marines legion
The large mechs you see in the Horus Heresy are titans they are the largest land based titans controlled by a human and few other people to control its systems and its guns but the sad thing is no one knows how to make them anymore and the smallest titan Warhound Scout Titan and it goes all the way up to the Imperator and Warmonger which can be seen from space and if you send enough they can destroy planets
@@karsonkammerzell6955That is 100% something the Black Templars would do.
Very cool! Thanks!
They wear bright colors so they can be seen by the enemy in battle
The mechs are actually more grimdark than you think. They're marines that have been maimed in battle and interred inside a coffin that can control the mech. They're called Dreadnoughts.
Ok very cool!
@@ChompStudio wait til u hear this next bit: dreadnought houses space marine that was inches away from death, now they're stuffed into a walking sarcophagi and told to keep fighting forever

Astartes has the advantage of not being that chapter so they can play with the color palette a bit more. The "small" mechs are called Dreadnoughts.
Totally makes sense! Thanks!

Ok makes sense....very cool that they do that for the fans!
Ahhhh ok thanks!
"Even in death I still serve" is a common quote from the 'dawn of war' series of games, and it's true in this universe.
awesome thanks!
I think the reason we don't see the Marines face in Parhia Nexus is because he's from the Salamanders chapter, and showing his face would be a massive spoiler for the series to new people watching it.
Ok cool!
"Then let the galaxy burn"
Still gives me goosebumps till this day.
Really well done.
It gives me the same feeling with World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade with the opening animation when Illidan says:
"You are not prepared."
Makes sense! Thanks!
Thats actually a really good call about Apocalypse Now...thats a great comparison! Nice!
Sounds awesome! I have it on the list!
not sure if anyone mentioned the "walker machine mech-guy" Is called a Dreadnought.
"The pilots within Dreadnoughts are Marines who have suffered mortal wounds in battle, maimed and crippled beyond recovery - instead of being mercifully killed, the greatest heroes are instead given what is considered the honour of continuing to serve the Emperor past their normal life. Once interred within the Dreadnought, the Marine cannot leave the metal womb and is destined for a life of endless battle until destroyed." they tend to be thousands of years old
Awesome thanks!
The Darktide Intro Cinematic is also absolutely wonderful imo. And it gives you a little bit of knowledge about the universe of Warhammer 40k!
Yes! I watched this when I was thinking of getting the game....Ill add it to the list! Thanks!
“Woah! They’re huge!”
Yes, almost…titanic…

So amazing! Lets pray for the sequel!
As for Sizes among Space marines;
Space Marine: 8-9ft average, with some outliers
Primaris Marines: 9-10 average,
Custodes, 10-11 average,
Primarchs.
Give or take.
awesome thanks!
But.. thats Horus, not abbadon :/
Horus was a primarch, thats why hes so large next to the other marines, true Abby is still a large astartes but not primarch size.
"which seem uncharacteristic of Warhammer- OOOOHHH RIPPED IN HALF" best thing I've heard in one of these reaction videos.

13:00 Service Studs. They're either silver (representing 10 or 50 years) or gold (representing 100 years) showing how long he has served his chapter, I believe
Crazy!
Ok cool. I think Ill wait for Nexus Pariah, and grab a membership for a month and check out everything. Thanks!
Got it! Adding it all to the list! Thanks!
Dang...this is awesome! Thanks!
Ahhhhh got it! This helps a lot thanks!
Warhammer is vast, not just in the ways you are thinking of but also in genres. As such, there is actually a lot of comedy in specific parts. Most notably, much of the greenskins has an undertone of comedy to them.
Ahh very nice! Thanks!
The Ultramarines armor being impractically bright blue and decked-out in over-polished gold is entirely normal and in-character behavior of them. They're the poster boys both in-universe and out, and they have egos to match. If you need a stealth mission handled, you call somebody else.
Ha makes sense!
Awesome! The Titans are sweet!
Good point on the claws...I would have liked to more on that.
@@ChompStudio It's just easier I guess, but reminds me of how film often treats armor as meaningless
there are three fan made animations well worth your time Helsreach, Astartes and The Death of Hope
Previous Reacts video was Astartes....loved it! Ill add the other 2 to "the list" thanks!
This does make sense....and it totally fair.
Dang...this is awesome! Thanks!
And now our emperor sits in his golden throne and needs 1000 syk souls a day to stop the warp and its gods.
The lore is so sick❤
I swear that i do not want to be nitpicky... but there was originally 20 sons/Primarchs. the 2nd and the 11th are both redacted from the histories of the Imperium and there are small tidbits of evidence that suggest that "Leman Russ" the Wolf King, one of the Primarchs also known as the "Emperor's Executioner" had actually moved against them and likely killed them under the command of the Emperor for reasons unknown. This also plays into the fact that maybe the reason why there are so many ultramarines is because they had likely absorbed one if not both of the other censured/disbanded legions.
@@thesaykow Imperial citizen...it seems you need to be mind-probed. There have always been 18 primarchs. EIGHT...TEEN.
@@KaitoGillscale yes of course, and I am Alpharius.
I really like that you actually examine and critique the animation, not just a general RUclipsr reaction, that's what I was coming for! Great video!
I appreciate that thanks!
"This game is gonna be pure Chaos" Excuse you, heretic? 🤣
Ha not "That" kind of chaos.
The reason the two Psychophages pause and look up when the Psyker (40k sorcerer) shows up is that they primarily EAT psykers in order to generate special toxins. So him showing up was like walking in to a birthday party with a huge cake
haha awesome thanks!
I know in a lot of their media they intentionally make their characters look a bit like their table top figures but I hate it. If they have a whole subscription based streaming service they should take from astartes popularity and go for the realistic look since a streaming service is now more than just the table top.
Totally agree!
the huge monster guy in armor is horus lupercall , a primarque ( literally an astartes directly made from the genetics of the emperor) son of the "emperor" we are hearing about quite often.
he's also the one who bring about the horus heresy where he fell into chaos and attack the imperium of mankind. ( around 30th millennia when the games are around the 41th millennia)
Love hearing the lore...thanks!
"Tone that gold down a little bit"
Custodes: Are we a joke to you?
haha totally fair point!
Yes, that is a teleport beacon, used mainly by Terminator squads to instant reinforce with their HEAVY armour. A suit of Terminator armour is like wearing a main battle tank :P
The minigun that one is carrying is an Assault Cannon, which fires standard 30mm solid slugs at 100+ rounds per second.
Thats awesome!
Totally makes sense knowing that now.....its pretty cool that they would still make this kind of cinematic for that!
If you're looking for more 40k, the Darktide trailers would be good
Awesome! Added to the list!
That mech that came in and killed the big tyranid was called a dreadnought they are warmachines controlled by a mortally wounded space marine that is forever bound inside its sarcophagus to pilot it until death because for a dreadnought pilot Even in death they still serve
Awesome! Just watched Red Dread...pretty awesome!
Can't wait to play it!
A Propos The Horus heresy
The "Man" Speaking is, well Horus himself.
Whoa Holy info! Thanks!
The guy on the horus heresy trailer, and the "victory" guy on the 10th edition trailer are primarchs, fuck ton of lore about them, but the main thing is that they lead their own legion of space marine
Ok awesome! Thanks!
I feel you should check out " The Armoring Of A Space Marine".....it really captures the current Imperium.
Sounds good...adding to the list!
"Maybe the gold could be toned down just a little bit"
Wait until he meets the Custodes XD
Ha I keep hearing this.....
Any Warhammer 40K stuff must always be seen with Bolt Thrower soundtrack. "World Eater" or "For Victory", if possible,
Oh nice! haha
That big guy next to the marines is Horus, a Primarch. The marines of his legion are made by his genetic profile, he’s their dad essentially.
Awesome thanks!
That's totally fair....figured it was more in line with the tabletop game...which totally makes sense.
So awesome! Thanks!
Welcome to Warhammer. One of the best community's and rich loredriven storylines in the world today.
Its been awesome thanks! What a great community!
That makes sense....the amount of content they seem to be creating feels like a lot!
Just a heads up - Games Workshop will be bigger than Disney one day.
I can see that...especially with the direction Disney is taking everything lately....yikes!
The comedy pause is very characteristic of Warhammer. You can tell it is meant to be OTT, and that it is hilariously so.
Awesome! This is helpful thanks!
Oh hell ya! Loved the first video. I was hoping you do more, thanks man!
Hey thanks!
The actor for Robute Guilliman produces exactly the voice you expect from a primarch. They are given heights of anywhere from 10ft tall to 14ft tall.
My intro to warhammer 40k was when I played Dawn Of War back in the day. I had no idea what was going on, but it was fun. So I looked it up and found a Wiki of it... and lost myself for hours and hours. Its really interesting and cool.
Thats awesome! Thanks!
I liked the depth of field on the horus heresy trailer because it was revealing the new miniatures and edition of the game
Totally makes sense....good use of it in that case.
Ahhhh fair enough. In that case...it really hits the mark!
Big fan of this. Really happy you've decided to delve deeper!
I feel this is just the beginning....
@@ChompStudio Bloody hope so! I've recently been binging the shows on WH+ and it's gunna be nice to see some critique. The quality is a little inconsistent on some of the 3D animations but the style on the 2D animations are all really nice.
Ah very interesting! I was wondering about the quality. I think Im waiting for Pariah Nexus to come out then Ill check out everything! Thanks!
The Duty Studs on the forehead, Silver are 50yrs and Gold are 100yrs.
So awesome! Thanks!
This totally makes sense.....I just really like how Astartes did it...but I get there are variations for games / tabletop etc...looks great still!
Love this! Thanks!
Juggernauts is one of my favorite beings in Warhammer. Their lives and creation is so dark and lonely but still somehow I feel that humans would made those in same situations.
You mean dreadnoughts?
Very cool!
Plus you can get a good look at some of the other factions/races armours, too
For sure....this is a good and fair comment!
12:42 its that spider man meme with the 3 spider men pointing at each other lol
haha no kidding
Sodaz (an animator) did an amazing fan animation about the Death Korps, featuring combined arms warfare with an actual cavalry charge. He's also done a 25 minute Halo fan animation, a 14 minute S.T.A.L.K.E.R animation AND is working on an amazing Fallout animation about the attack on Helios 1. 100% recommend his work. The Death Korps video had to be removed due to Games Workshop and them seeing fans as competition.
Thanks! Adding this to the list for review.
lol he wanted to work for GW but the fans harassed him into quitting for being a "traitor".
There is a lot of comedy in Warhammer. It is dark but never gets too serious.
Very interesting! I like that aspect a lot!
Next react to the Lord Inquisitor.
Or if you want to see what imo is the best game trailer for a warhammer game yet "Mark of Chaos" intro a warhammer fantasy video
Ok awesome! Ill add them to the list!
the only thing that the shorts on warhammer tv seem to lack is good eye animation and some facial animations.
Hey thanks!
the big guy in the horus heresy video was Horus himself, he is a Primarch, which are like the 'fathers' of the space Marines, Primarchs are where space marines get their Geneseeds from, it's what makes them super human, so the primarchs are even bigger and more powerful by far then regular space marines, if space marines are super soldiers, then Primarchs are literal Demi gods, the Emperor of Mankind was even bigger then the primarchs, all the primarchs were born from his DNA, their were 20 primarchs initially who had their own legions of space marines with unique abilities and styles, including for example, the Space wolves legion led by Leman Russ (space viking werewolves), the Ultramarines (your standard blue boy marines led by Roboute Guilliman (the blonde guy talking in the third trailer), the Lunar wolves who eventually become the Black legion one of the main Chaos space marine legions their Primarch is Horus himself. Space marines on average are 8ft tall, Primarchs on Average are 12ft tall, and Horus was in terminator armor the biggest and strongest space marine armor which increases his size and height by at least a few feet
Hey thanks for stopping by and letting me know a little more about the 40k lore! Loving it!
This is just scratching the surface once you get into the lore, specially "The Horus heresy" (30K) you're going to want to be making these movies yourself.
Edit: Also look for "Hellsreach"
Sounds good! Ill take a look!
Awesome! Thanks for the additional lore!
The beacon is a Teleport Homer.
Awesome thanks!
space marines are not often blue it's just that the chapter that gets the most screen time in things are the ultramarines and their chapter is indeed blue
Ahhh ok...that totally makes sense. Thanks!
Awesome thanks!
As you are on a 40k binge. I would recommend Death of hope part 1 Anarchy Reigns a Heresy Period short by SparksArtifex R-rated and has the grim dark turned up to 11. A fan-made animation made some years ago.
Sounds good! Adding to the list
that horus hersy one was horus himself
Ok cool! Thanks!
The giant charecter's name is Horus he's a primarch, and a primarch is a demigod that from his geneseed creates a space marine.
This is great! Thanks for the info!
Awesome thanks!
Awesome Ill check it out!
Astartes are not always blue. That's just their legion, the Ultra Marines. There's other legions and colors.
Awesome! Makes sense!
Can't really say there is a lot of blue in the space marine chapters. Ultra marines are very blue tho, Blood angels red, Grey knights, well you can guess :p Point is Each marine chapter can be distinguished on the battlefield just through their colours.
Awesome thanks!
Can we have a moment for the space marine that took on Horus.
haha
each legion has there own color for each chapter.. so we can tell what chapter is being played in table top game. also at one time we had all chapter on good side then some broke of to chaos legion or chapters. so at start we had 20 legion 2 went missing and some went to chaos side. so each legion has different color for space marines legion
Awesome thanks!
So awesome! Thanks!
An actually decent reaction video, nice. How about a review of Helsreach?
It's the Emperor, the gold can't be tone down.
