This video was definitely made by one dude. And yall are right, that lazturret should've took out that one marine that destroyed the lazturret with a plasma bolt. But these particular marines are from an imperial fist successor that can resist warp spaghetti. Their armor is better built than most others, probably because they didn't piss off the Adeptus Mechanicus. @@ChillinWithTheJs. imagine building nukes for god and them some dude that gets those nukes for basically free starts talks mad shit about him and you. The trigger for them nukes either gonna be real stiff or real sensitive, I'll tell you that much.
Pretty sure that las turret was a multilaser, which is a high rate of fire weapon good for mowing down unarmored foes, but not good against armor. It did leave serious scorch marks on the armor and could have seriously damaged it if it had hit weak spot such as an eye piece or a joint, but the marine wasn't that unlucky there.
nah a multi-laser doesn't have the power to outright penetrate through an Astartes armor, but if he has stood there long enough it would have eventually broke his armor down, it basically takes anti-tank weaponry to take them out, even their own bolt guns required special rounds for use against other Astartes during the Horus Heresy.
>The armor is broken because ceramite armor (the one worn by the astartes) in 40K is VERY resistant to conventinal firearms. >The enemies they are fighting are some sort of psyker cult, psykers being mind wizards basically >Also I love the part where one of you went YO DAS ME, DUDE! Hey, just got to say, I've been into Warhamer 40k for.... about 30ish years. You might not have seen much about it before... But damn, you got it so quickly compared to others I've seen, and you absolutely were on point all the way through. You GET this. Awesome to see!
A bolt shell is less of a bullet and more of a self-propelled miniaturized armor piercing rocket, designed to penetrate and explode. The first shot is enough that you won't survive. If it isn't, then it sucks for you.
If you think becoming Space Marine in 40k is easy....all I can say is no, just no you either die or go insane from the trauma. The process to make a normal human into a Space Marine/Astartes supersoldeir is one of the most traumatic and brutal things in Warhammer 40k. They start by recruiting human boys 9 to 10 years old and are put threw some of the most harsh and dangerous tests and trials in the galaxy and alot of them don't survive or never the same anymore. These tests can be exposure to radioactive planets, frozen worlds, a world filled with alien creatures that want to eat you most of the times the recruits are naked in these exposure tests. Or put through pain torture tests, self mutilation trials and duels/no holds bard fights that are always to the death and remember the recruits doing these tests and trials are 9 to 10 year old boys.
@@ChillinWithTheJs. You don't sign up, Space marines chose who they want, most human citizens will go about their lives without even seeing a Space Marine and they will only arrive a human imperial world like every 100 years. Most take human boys from gang fighters or boys from primitive tribes, some Space marine Chapters/groups have very messed recruiting methods like the Mortificators who get their recruits from a tribe of cannibals and this cannibalism is present within the Mortificator Space Marines who eat their own dead and then theres the Death Spectres Space marine chapter, the Death Spectres collector human woman so they can be raped constantly so they can give birth to male boys to be recruited. One last thing once becoming Space Marine they can live for thousands of years and their whole purpose in life is to fight the Enemies of humanity, they will never ever see their former human familes again they will die of old age long before their sons who become Space Marines do. Space marines don't have a retirement and don't get paid, a space marines duty only ends in death.
@@ChillinWithTheJs. You just have to be the most badass one out there and sort of young. You don't have to be 9-10, there's loads of chapters out there that recruit from the heads of gangs from hiveworlds, soldiers that stand out on the battlefield, or just exceptional citizens. Basically you have to already be the main protagonist somewhere, and then these guys pick you up and give you the space marine kale-juice after a decade or 3 of nightmarish training.

Not being calm enough for holding position, careful aim or careful timing is a common enough problem for normal humans facing space marines it has the name "posthuman dread".
With a multi laser? Doubtful. If it was a lascannon it would've worked but multi laser is basically a fast firing lasgun which wouldn't penetrate power armor.

The guy in the robes who got possessed by the orb was an Inquisitor, basically the secret police (like the CIA, FBI, KGB type shit) of the Imperium. Besides the Emperor and the Primarchs, Inquisitors have the most power within the Imperium. When the Space Marines killed him, it was only because possession in this universe can be some of the most dangerous type shit and it was both a mercy kill and over the top to make sure no strange shit was gonna come from him.

Love how precisely you picked up on the lore-specific characteristics of Space Marines. They dont run away. They dont fear. They dont hesitate. You got them locked in
At the end there, the guy in the red robe was listening in on the orbs, which he was supposed to be doing. He heard they were going to attack the Astarte team, which he whips around to tell the boss man, and he sends another Astarte to go tell them (we actually see the Sergeant reacting to the warning just before they start getting absorbed). Unfortunately for the psycker (red robe), the distraction allowed the orb they had in captivity to attack him, following which he was quickly possessed (though you can see him resisting), noticeably, you can hear him chanting so loud that it is the only audible human dialogue, except for the previous shouted warning. As soon as he fell to the orb, he was rapidly and summarily executed, which was almost definitely the best scenario for everyone on board. As for the room with the giant robot? I think the orbs were trying to make an army of psychers (magic basically) which is why we see a lot more of those mask and spine things. They would just slap one of those onto a normal psycher or maybe even a normal person, and it would buff them/make them a psycher. This would, obviously, be very bad. Just two of them were a challenge for five Astartes, and there are A LOT more than two masks in that room. The giant Robot I think is supposed to be a body for the Orb, but the Astartes managed to get there before it was completed. That’s the reason the Orb said they had failed, they were on the edge of becoming a much more serious threat.

I love your reactions especially pointing out how these space marines are so efficient, they almost leave no room for hesitation. Especially the part where the one marine was coughing blood and then in just a few seconds was on HIGH ALERT MODE like damn, if I were him, imma be still screaming from the pain or pass out.
6:15 - I love your enthusiasm and energy. Think about it like this, Space Marines are basically walking tanks. They're wearing ceramite armor and firing bolters (rocket propelled exploding projecties). It takes something anti-armor to have a chance with them, like the sapper's charge the dude was running with, or the multi-laser squad weapon they rolled up.
This animation is and always will be a masterpiece As a few other comments have stated, Bricky's a solid choice with his intro to every 40k faction, their long videos, but often pretty worth it, another good 40k youtuber is Majorkill, he's become pretty big lately, he covers far more specific subject sin 40k, such as certain characters, factions, events and questions that people normally don't ask for 40k (example, he has a video on what type of food each faction eats), his videos are often far shorter being about 10-13 mins on average, and often "dumbed down" and said differently whilst still getting the point across. Only thing with him is that his sense of humor isn't for everyone, however he's still a solid 40k youtuber anyway, loved the energy in this vid, new sub!
I had so much fun watching your reactions. I discovered this video a few days ago and I am in love! I have watched it at least 10 times. Thanks for the fun ride.
So the guy in the hood that they killed was a Psyker, basically psychic wizards. And the reason they killed him is because he was being possessed. In this animation they were dealing with ancient alien technology, amd homie was getting possessed by it and any sort of deamon/alien possession is a major deal so killing him like that was actually underkill, that was them going lite on killing him because if they don't, they legitimately could all die.
interesting fact about the hooded dude. He's a psycher. He was listening in on the conversation between the orbs which not only takes insane power but also insane concentration and he was doing it undetected. you can hear him scream "RECALL YOUR MEN IMMEDIATELY" when he snaps out of focus, but since he broke his concentration he alerted the orbs of his presence allowing them to overload him and probably posses him. he sacrificed his life to try to save those space marines.
When the one marine tried firing his plasma pistol into the sphere, (I don't know if this is verified or just fan theory) he was overcharging the gun, which is a dangerous thing to do with a plasma weapon anyway. He probably knew there was a good chance of the pistol exploding and taking his hand with it, but it was a last-ditch Hail Mary tactic because there were no other options left.
Warhammer 40K is simultaneously the nerdiest and the coolest shit ever and Astartes is everything i love about 40K summarised. Everything about it goes RIDICULOUSLY hard
love that they see some 7 foot tall genetically engineered super soldiers, that us normal folk would see as demi gods, and say "thats literally me". 😆 these guys give off vibes similar to that guardsman who stood in between the emperor and horus and thought "i could fuckin take him"
Adeptus Astartes can easily withstand wounds that would instantly end mere mortals, so either total evisceration or decapitation would do the job. That or a direct salvo from a Titan's volcano cannon would guarantee that an Astartes (both loyalist and heretic) won't be getting back up on his feet.
Welcome to the Warhammer family where no one is the good guy, everything is war and grit and the Orks are so f'ing hilarious (example: they believe the color purple makes them invisible..... idk... have you ever seen a purple ork? lmfao). Space Demons vs Humans vs Aliens vs Demon Humans vs Space Egyptians vs serial killer elves. The rounds fired by the GAU-12 best known for being the gun that has an A10 Warthog wrapped around it, have a diameter of 30mm, which is less than half of the diameter of a Red Bull can.

Interesting fact: if you have noticed, the space marines haven’t missed a single shot in this engagement
I would recommend Bricky's videos, they explain every 40k faction. They are long ones though, near 1hour for humanity alone on the first video. As long as it is, it's very noob friendly. Lots of great memes. Regardless this community will welcome you with open arms, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war.

Those Cogboys don't like dealing with "regular folk" so if you mess with them, the gear they send your way might malfunction.
That's crazy, they mad petty.
@@ChillinWithTheJs. imagine building nukes for god and them some dude that gets those nukes for basically free starts talks mad shit about him and you.
The trigger for them nukes either gonna be real stiff or real sensitive, I'll tell you that much.
@@WitchFisterVeo1911 With that in mind, I understand
>The enemies they are fighting are some sort of psyker cult, psykers being mind wizards basically
>Also I love the part where one of you went YO DAS ME, DUDE! Reminded me of when I used to do that with my sister as a kid
>The egg/ball/sphere thingies are believed to be some form of Warp entities or similar, it's a homebrew concept by Syama.
>The two spheres began communicating with each other, the Imperial psyker got an ear into their conversation and warned the Marine Captain, you can hear him say "RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY" and the he gets possessed and well...boy got smoked
>The marine lost his hand because plasma weapons in 40k are well-know because they fucking explode in overcharged
>The warp entity was attacked by...Emperor knows what the fuck while holding the marines with the tentacles
if I remember correctly some people speculatted that the smoke was the remnamts of the psyker that was killed because when you see the confo between the entities the same smoke comes of the psyker as the smoke that saves them.
@@lancelotdegraaf3944 Damn, EVEN IN DEATH
I assumed that when the plasma was fired inside the orb, it actually hit its target, which is so far away that he was absorbed in the time the shot took to travel the distance
@@ClassFInquisition Nope man, it's psyker echo. When strong psyker die, echo of his soul create warp turbulence. Wis inquisition psyker sacrifice his soul to save marine.

fax, they like me fr
That is typical for space marines. Their devotion to the God Emperor is that strong. Even if it meant dying horribly, they would dive in without hesitation.
@@BinaryEvasion Yeah, one of the main charms of the Imperium for me. Normally, zealotry in factions isn't that interesting for me. But the super extreme way they do it, LOVE IT.
Say less, where do I sign up, because I'm him.
Many of the chapters serfs are actually failed aspirants

6:24 It was a good setup! It could have worked if that gunner waited and let the space marine keep coming until he was halfway in the hallway, but he clenched that trigger in panic at the first sight of the marine.
@@xxchaos315xx6With enough las beam on concentrated spot, it was bound to penetrate the armor.

"Even their spells can't stop us brother!" - Salamanders chaplain after stomping an enemy psyker.
When they are taken by the entity into the warp the thing that kills it at 15:53 is most likely the soul of the Red Robed Inquisitor as the color of the Bolt is the same as his Aura when he was connected to it.
Also at the end when you see the Astartes look off in the distance if you notice their are a bunch of pillars in the distance and you can see flashes of light on top of them which is the rest of his Squad teleporting in
Good catch!
I dunno. I feel like the inquisitor wasn't a psyker, but just had admech implants. He was hooked up to the one orb with mechadendrites and such.
@@Schmeethe88 could be but nearly all mechadendrites connect to the back and are mostly used by the Tech priests not the inquisition. all of the cables went into his helmet and Imperial psykers all have crap drilled into their skulls.
Plus when the two orbs are talking the orb on the Rebel ship tells the orb on the Imperial ship "You must... Take the Alpha" Which would also explain why the 2 marines were so quick to kill the possessed individual as a Psyker that is possessed is insanely dangerous even to marine, and a possessed Alpha level psyker would be a threat to the sector.
The creator confirmed that the creature was attacked by a demon in the warp

40K fans are happy to not be in the 40K universe.
13:20 - The dude yelled "Recall them immediately!" You've heard no dialogue between them because everyone in armor has in-helmet comms. That was him yelling as loud as he could under his own volition.
Glad you guys like the vid. It's pretty cool. I've been reading warhammer 40k for 18 years and to see younger people getting into it and all the new content now is pretty rad. lol Keep up the good work guys.

Never gets old. Always fun watching non fans react to the simple and swift reaction to POSSIBLE chaos infection. If anything they probably burned the corpse offscreen.
To be fair people who are not invested in 40k or its lore REALLY do not understand just how dangerous what happed there actually was.
People not in the know would think it an over reaction. Those who do know? That was plenty necessary
This and Helsreach are normally the first big dives in to 40k lore
Love how precisely you picked up on the lore-specific characteristics of Space Marines. They dont run away. They dont fear. They dont hesitate. You got them locked in
As someone who just got into 40k, I'm loving someone with the same sense of wonder watching this that I had.
This is the best warhammer content I’ve seen in months!
That marine after barfing, immediately: “aight, but where am I now?”

This animation is and always will be a masterpiece
As a few other comments have stated, Bricky's a solid choice with his intro to every 40k faction, their long videos, but often pretty worth it, another good 40k youtuber is Majorkill, he's become pretty big lately, he covers far more specific subject sin 40k, such as certain characters, factions, events and questions that people normally don't ask for 40k (example, he has a video on what type of food each faction eats), his videos are often far shorter being about 10-13 mins on average, and often "dumbed down" and said differently whilst still getting the point across.
Only thing with him is that his sense of humor isn't for everyone, however he's still a solid 40k youtuber

The guy that made it got hired by the company and we havent seen his work since
lets go!
So the guy in the hood that they killed was a Psyker, basically psychic wizards. And the reason they killed him is because he was being possessed.
In this animation they were dealing with ancient alien technology, amd homie was getting possessed by it and any sort of deamon/alien possession is a major deal so killing him like that was actually underkill, that was them going lite on killing him because if they don't, they legitimately could all die.
i never fail to enjoy a good reaction video of this masterpiece of an animation.
PREACH
interesting fact about the hooded dude.
He probably knew there was a good chance of the pistol exploding and taking his hand with it, but it was a last-ditch Hail Mary tactic because there were no other options left.
there is so much lore, 40K is a loremasters dream.
