- Simplicity 9596 is such a cute dress pattern. I decided to make view A. I used the bodice from view B. I used seersucker fabric purchased from Joann Fabrics. I really like the way the dress turned out. I can see myself wearing this Simplicity dress with sneakers or with sandals in the summer or the spring. I learned something about ironing seersucker. I share all the details in this video.

Haya. Such a fun make, yay 🙂Great easy, breezy style 🙂Thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡🪡✂🧵🙂
Thank you so much! Couldn’t pass up on this gingham fabric.
Thank you for this tutorial I'm going to attempt to make this dress tomorrow. I'm a beginner so fingers crossed it's not too hard. What size did you make?
@@pamelahoward4445 So glad you’re going to make this dress and that you found this video. You can do it!!! You’re most welcome. I made an XS. Best of luck.
Great instructions thank you!
@@awarren8774 You are most welcome. Thank you so very much.
So cute! I always say no to a pattern, and then here you come and say, "This is why it's a yes..." 😅😂😂😂 Absolutely perfect ❤
Hey, Tea. Lol. Aww. Thank you so so much. That is so sweet. I hope you give this pattern a try. It’s easy to make, and very comfortable. I like that they included a t-shirt in this pattern. That definitely comes in handy if you want to wear it under the dress since the armholes are a bit low. Thanks again.
Love the dress on you. I like your sewing instructions and you of course !
Aww. Thank you so very much!!!
Very cute!
Thank you!!
Did you wash your fabric before you use. Ihve alot ofqseersucker fabric and i have this pattern and would love to sew with your tutorial.
Oh, cool. Yes. I did.
Thanks . The dress looks good on you as always.
Thank you so much. I appreciate that. It’s really a great pattern. You’re most welcome.
One trick, when buying fabric at the store is to photograph the bolt end with your phone, when at a chain store like JoAnn, so you have the fabric composition to take home.
Thank you.
@@Manecoarse You're welcome! And I learned this the hard way. I don't even live in the US, nobody I know there sews so I couldn't even commission them to go back and find out, LOL! As they say in my country "bay kou, bliye, pote mak, sonje" (you forget the bruises, but not the scars).
Beautiful. I think that the bodice for the wider top is made for sleeves and the other one for sleeveless. But I think it looks great on you.
I was going to say the same thing. Sleeveless bodices are cut slightly differently.
@@rmorine6394 Yeah. The armhole is smaller on a sleeveless top so that things like the bra doesn’t show. 👍🏾
Thank you so much. I wore this dress today with some comfy sneakers. I felt so comfortable. Thanks again.
@@Manecoarse My pleasure. I really enjoy your videos 🤗
That means the world to me. I definitely enjoy chatting with you. I appreciate your feedback and your kind words. I hope the videos continue to be enjoyable. Thank you.
What a very cute summer dress! Thank you for sharing the tip on seersucker fabric!
Hey, Martika. I just watched your five essentials video! I truly enjoyed it. Thank you so much. I had been ironing away and then learned I should be doing more steaming. Glad I didn’t mess anything up. Lol
you rock! i've mistakenly washed some gorgeous pleated fabric -it's not pleated anymore. ugh!!! i love your sewing skills... gosh, it's so good to see your process. thank you! if you do go to the wedding, i hope you all have a fabulous time :) (i really love your fabric! ) ...your dress turned out wonderfully! love it!
Hi, Heather. Thank you so very much. I think the wedding will be a ton of fun if we go. Oh, no. So sorry to hear about your once pleated fabric. 😢. I was happy to learn that seersucker can be okay with some steam. Whew. Close call there. Lol. Thanks again.
Such a nice summer pattern. It's nice fitting on you as well. A jumpsuit or shorts/ Kakki pants with any extra material you may have would be cute on you too. I may be misspelling a word, but you get it I know. Keep up the enjoyable work I enjoy seeing. Love Auntie Irene
Hey, Auntie. Thank you so much. I love this fabric, and I think it would look really nice with something khaki. I can picture that, and that’s something I didn’t even think of. :)
Of course you can iron seersucker!
I love the dress. Also thank you so much for detailed process. I like that you shared the process from the beginning to end. I’m new and learning so the details matter. I appreciate it very much.
You are most welcome. I’m so glad the video was helpful. Thank you so much.
I made the twice, once in denim for a jumper dress and with seersucker in the sleeve version. I love this pattern . The only issue is the low underarm but that could be fixed. I’ve also made the tshirt.
Oh, nice. Making this in denim is a great idea. I bet that’s really cute with seersucker in the sleeves. Yes. The low underarm can definitely be fixed. I love this pattern too. I can definitely see myself making this again, and the included t-shirt is also a nice addition to this pattern.
Cute dress. Do you still have an instagram account? The link leads to nowhere.
Thank you so so much. No. I don’t.
I always enjoy your content so much 😀 yes! make a dress for the wedding! Would love that!
Hi, Neena. Thank you so so much. Thanks for your thoughts on making a dress for the wedding. Will definitely share if I decide to go that route. Thanks again.
What a lovely summer dress 🤗 The pastel seersucker is a perfect pairing for the pattern! 🩷💛💚🩵💜
Thank you so much. The fabric was really easy to sew with too. Love that.
Such a cute dress and I love the seersucker, so summery ❤. TYFS
Hi, Brenda. You’re welcome. I was so happy to find this Seersucker fabric. I was drawn to it right away. Thank you so much.
Steam Seersucker!
Yes! :)
I love how this dress fits! I was hesitant about buying the pattern because I was worried about looking shapeless but it truly doesn't have that vibe going on when you see it made up. When I make will look at the armhole situation, that is the only thing I might change also, guessing also fabric weight will impact in terms of the shape. Love your choice of fabric too.
Thank you. I think this dress has a really unique finished look. I was so happy it didn’t end up looking shapeless. Have fun sewing your dress. :)
Cute❣️Cute❣️Cute❣️
Thank you so so much.
Oh yay! Seersucker is so cute and I always wonder what to make with it! That looks perfect for summer and a good project to share. I wasn't going to say this but I will... I have on my seersucker nightgown while I'm watching your video ! TMI but I thought it was funny!! 😂😂
Aww. Lol. What a coincidence that you’re wearing seersucker at this very moment. I’ve never even considered seersucker for a gown. Super cool. Thank you so much!
@Manecoarse Now I'm thinking that I could definitely wear this as a summer dress! And I ironed it while I was making it; the fabric recovered its texture in the wash.
Good luck on the wedding guest outfit... can't wait to see what you make next!
Yes. I notice that the fabric really does recover after washing. Thank goodness for that, and I bet you could definitely wear your gown as a dress. :)
