This was such an awesome video! Your transitions are amazing. And your lovely script really helps move the story along. Your Uncle LOVES the time laps. This is a gorgeous dress with all the fine details of a true vintage vibe. Your bound button holes are divine. They make me squeal with delight! And it's great that you enjoy all the hand sewing; that's exactly how women would have sewn 60 some years ago. It's never a lost art when we cherish what we make!
@@victoriaalexandra1958 well, you stitched along the dart markings right? Basically they are stay stitches. After you've done that, you slice right down the middle to the point, making sure not to clip your stitching lines. then you just gather the longer side to match the shorter side. Don't mess with the very point of the dart too much or else you'll get a weird little bubble. Stop your gathering about 1/8'' before the point. Baste, and then stitch, following your previous stitching line. Does that help?
I'm totally new to sewing so I literally have no idea what any of those words mean and it makes me so sad because it's a dress I really want to make!! But I'm so confused!
That's okay! Think of sewing like a video game. You level up and learn new moves right? Well, it's the same with sewing! Start with a simple dress like Butterick 6453 and take it one step at a time. If you haven't watched my video about choosing a size, that would probably help! When you get to a term you don't know, google it. Don't be discouraged, I know there's a lot to learn, but remember that I and everyone else who knows how to sew all started out where you are right now. You can do it!

Amy Weber thank you, my dear! I will be posting the bound buttonhole video hopefully by the end of the month! Don’t be scared!
This is the content I've been looking for !!! Gurl, where have you been all my life? I've rarely hit the subscribe button that fast
Omg 🙈 I’m so humbled! Thank you for such a lovely compliment 💕
Your vids are wonderful. So relaxing to watch and motivating. Keep em coming my dear.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Good to see another creation over here!
Just starting this one, thanks in advance for this! I'm not super experienced but gotta learn! I love the fabric you used.
Good luck! 💖
Really pretty.
Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant sew along! I got stuck on the sleeves so it really helped ♥️
I’m so happy to hear that I could help! I’d love to see your finished product 😊
Mine looks so different! I fully lined it and add piping everywhere. I like the lighter look so I might make it again more similar to yours.
Wow! I'd love to see yours, that sounds interesting. I can see how piping would look good with this one!
This is why I love sew alongs. Everyone has a different idea for the same pattern.
Oooooo......magic!
I love your videos ✨ please keep making more 💕
Maxine Kemp aww thank you!! 🥰 I will keep at it!
Lovely!
Podunk Wild Heart thanks so much, my dear! 💘
Oh I love this dress on you. What tipe of fabric did you use to make it?
Thank you! I used a cotton seersucker, this is a link (affiliate) to the exact fabric if you're interested :) bit.ly/2LnbVr0
Pattern link doesn't work. Nice fabric and dress.
Thank god I'm not the only one that sews in my underwear out of pure convenience!! XD
😂😂😂 definitely not! There are tons of us!
I dont usually because its cold in MN but I would if I lived in FL.
How do you know what can be pinked??
Do you mean in terms of a pattern or do you mean more from a fabric standpoint? Most any raw edge of a woven fabric can be pinked!
I’m currently working on this pattern but the darts are so confusing to me
Victoria Alexandra what specifically is tripping you up? I can try to help!
Oh that would be amazing, I’m not sure if I need to match up the dart lines or the edges.
