I found two model numbers for this watch, the CASIO A168WGG-1BDF & the CASIO A168WGG-1BVT. These have a little higher MSRP price and are getting harder to find. I've really enjoyed the "stealth" "blacked out" "gun metal" look of this watch. I hope you like this full review video of this great little Casio digital watch. The truth is, material possessions of any kind, money, power, etc. never can and never will satisfy our hungering souls. Only knowing, loving, and serving God can truly satisfy.

In Christ, we can know true joy now and for all eternity.

@@shaneukken1180well seikos are more expensive than casios in general and both have great quality and reliability. So seiko is a bit expensive toyota.

It’s one of the best in Casio ‘s vintage series wrist watch. Fantastic review. I was gonna get it but the plastic case was a let down. Nevertheless the negative display and backlight are awesome. Casio has a positive display with same gunmetal bracelet but somehow I feel the negative one is more funky. Been a big fan of Casio digital watch since my school days. F91-W was my first Casio. I hope they make this one in Stainless Steel /metal case soon!!

3:50 This is pretty sturdy plastic, there is a video of a guy running over the cheaper f91 several times with his truck. The glass and display broke but the plastic case actually looked like it hold up rather well when he showed the result.
I actually like these a lot. My daughter has a Casio collection between the A168’s and F91W’s. Nice vid.

I now have the A168 WEMB - like this but with the mesh bracelet. Instant favourite in my collection. For those interested, the A1000 is all steel but personally I prefer the look and the price of these 168 variants.
What is special about Casio, is this, they're a budget brand but its watches perform 100 times better than their price suggests. Not to mention its level of finish

Great concise video! I’ve also been somewhat put down by the fact that the casing is made of resin on those Casio watches and even on the Timex equivalents. But with Timex there’s one T80 model that does have a stainless steel case. Comes in two colours: silver and gold. Has a positive display. Retails for some 110$. Have inquired about it at my local Timex agent and waiting for reply. But if it turns out not to be available, that Casio that I noticed just less than an hour ago, while searching for a ‘dressy’ digital watch, is my second choice, and is available where I am. I might even say it’s my first choice despite the resin case because it’s quite the looker.
Although the casing doesn’t have a matte finish like the bracelet. Would have to see how I feel about that with the watch in front of me.
And what I like about it is that the whole screen illuminates. On cheaper versions of those vintage Casios, there’s only one light in a corner of the screen that fades as it travels to the other corner. Not sharp.
That Timex T80 also has the entire screen illuminating.
When I was 10 I would’ve considered this high end luxury. 😂 It’s seriously a cool retro piece with some current influences like the “blackout” negative display and gun metal. Neat piece.

Yep. When we were 10 the 7 melodies no name watch from HonkKong made you a king of the school ) No to say black market price was equal to monthly engineer salary (welcome to USSR 🙂).
This watch in all steel would be a market killer IMO. There would be no reason to buy something like a prx 35mm quartz

They do have a stainless steel version. Its casio vintage a1000 series.
What's the size of this one ? I checked 159 but it was super small eventho my wrist size is very thin.

I just bought this today and I love its versatility.
Good performance, very nice model, if its body was metal it would be great. As a child I had a Casio Universal calendar, and since then for nearly 45 years I have only worn Casio models.

Like, although I prefer a positive display. I like the simplicity of the dial, compared to a much colorful standard model (I have). Considering now the one you have there and swapping the modules with the classic one. Once you buy these little things you keep buying mode models 😀

Thank you for review 🙂 To me black style looks better. Isnt it? I was thinking classic 168 till I saw this one. PS Strange, but I do not like my 5600 with black screen at all and changing it for classic look. Could be 5600 has screen much deeper hence worse visibility 😱

Nah, I would disagree, to me having it made as plastic and affordable is part of its charm. As sort of a middle finger to expensive watches. What i would like to have, however is bigger digits while maintaining the same size case.

I'm a lover of these Casio watches, I have like 4 diff models that switch wearing everyday. But $70 is just crazy. And I do wish they would just make all there plastic metal looking watches in real metal for people like me who wear them everyday. Even tho I have had mine for like 3 years and they still look good....just once the battery dies, your better off spending the $20 to get another one cuz in 5 years I'm sure it won't look good being plastic
Friend of mine, whos not really into watches, buys these in every case version so he can put the blacked out mvmt in them. Why? I haven't a clue. He just digs it. The cheapness of it probably has something to do with it.😅

It's just this style. This casio is the A168 model. The A158 models are smaller and have a different style face with different lettering.
The $20 base model has a stainless steel bracelet
Really wanted to like this watch but the bracelet is a deal breaker. I think I hate it. Constantly either falling off my hand or squeezing my arm to the point it’s digging into my arm and ripping arm hair out. If anyone has any strap options for this watch let me know.

This is the Nissan Skyline R32 of watches. Unassuming and so full of purpose. Hell, even the color is a similar shade!
